It is an abuse that they dont tell you that they charge almost 15% commission for eating there... Not in the most expensive restaurants here is what we spend consuming 2 people... The same pattern is repeated in all Venezuelan restaurants as long as they allow the abuse is not going to change

My husband and I went to eat Pepitos, we were only 2 people, unfortunately we didnt like them since... we ended up eating everything mixed together with the help of the fork, you cant grab the pepito and the bread falls apart... the experience was not pleasant Adding to this the displeasure of the gratuity that they include, I was reading the comments and although it is true as you say that it is considered a Common Practice IT IS NOT REQUIRED, and I say this based on the fact that I have worked in both Venezuelan restaurants As Americans, and from what I understand it is not even LEGAL, the restaurant has the right to include the service percentage ONLY if it is a table of 6 people or more... and they must tell customers that the service has been added, and it also falls of good taste to people and they even end up leaving extra if everything was good and they liked the attention. It is illogical to think that American restaurants do not do this, especially for a table of 2 people or a to go order, so they should consider the advice, because otherwise they will continue to lose customers, as in our case we will not return!

Probably the worst Venezuelan food Ive ever had the displeasure of eating, which is pretty crazy considering they average 4.6 stars on Google reviews. We were 3 people eating: 2 hamburgers 1 patacón 1 serving of tequeños 1 serving of French fries 2 Cocas 1 Nestea All for $70, which would have been fine, if a little pricey, but thats not the problem. The chicken was extremely overcooked and lacking any flavor. The roasted meat was terrible, it barely had any flavor and left an aftertaste of blood. The only thing that was good were the tequeños. The 3 people who ate were hungry, we had not eaten since 9am and we went to eat at 5:30pm, and we still left half the food, forcing the first half A LOT And on top of all that, when I went to pay, they charged me $80, which I thought was strange at first. The guy at the register literally said Its $80 before I saw the payment screen they have above the register. Upon closer inspection of the bill, there was a 15% tip included, basically if you order a $15 dish and your bill ends up being $100, you would be paying for another dish IN TIPS ONLY. I will never go back to this place, which I wont. It will be a loss for them or me, but if you read this review and would like to try Venezuelan food, please dont go here. I would like to leave a positive and constructive review, but this Service Fee thing is so unfortunate that its hard to even think about it. At least warn your customers verbally, dont use the Its on the menu excuse, when you know VERY well that people look at the titles and what they want to eat, not the small white letters at the bottom of any menu. And not only that, imagine not picking up a menu and ordering by QR code, there is not a single warning on the website that says anything about tipping. It is an extremely deceptive practice on the part of any restaurant. Prolly the worst Venezuelan food Ive had the displeasure of eating, which is kinda of insane given they have 4.6 average reviews on Google?? 3 people eating 2 Hamburgers 1 Patacon 1 Tequeños service 1 Fry service 2 Cokes 1 Nestea 70$, which wouldve been I guess fine but rather expensive still thats not the issue, Chicken was extremely overcooked and without any flavor whatsoever The carne asada was extremely bad tasting, barely any flavors and aftertaste of blood Only good thing that we ate was the tequeños All 3 of us left half of the food, we were starving, we hadnt eaten anything since 9am and we went eat at 5:30pm even so we left half still, basically forcing down the first half Then literally on top of all that I went to pay and I got charged 80 dollars, which seemed weird at first, the guy on the register literally said Its 80 dollars before I even had the pay window they have on the little screen on top of the register, upon closer inspection of the bill there is 15% gratuity tip, IM BAFFLED, basically if you order a 15$ dollar dish, and you bill comes out at 100$ youd be basically paying another dish JUST IN GRATUITY, never going back to this place, which is neither going to be their loss nor mine, but if you read this review and youd like to try Venezuelan food, please dont go here. I wish I could leave a positive, constructive review, but this is so far gone with this Gratuity fee its hard to even think about it, God, at least warn your customers verbally, dont give the old Is on the menu , when you now EXTREMELY well people look at headings and what they want to eat, not at the SMALL white letters at the bottom of any menu, not only that, good grief, imagine not grabbing a menu and ordering by the QR code , there is not a single disclaimer on the website saying anything about gratuity, its an extremely deceiving practice by any restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mordisko y Salsa, and I can confidently say that it was an exceptional experience. The standout dish for me was their empanadas, which were nothing short of perfection. From the moment I bit into the crispy, golden pastry shell, I knew I was in for a treat. The filling was a delightful blend of flavors, with just the right amount of seasoning and a tantalizing mix of ingredients. Each empanada was generously stuffed, and the attention to detail in crafting these savory parcels was evident. What sets Mordisko y Salsa apart is not only the delicious food but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether youre a seasoned empanada enthusiast or trying them for the first time, Mordisko y Salsa is the place to be. These empanadas are truly the best Ive ever tasted, and I cant wait to return for more culinary delights. Highly recommended!

First time trying Venezuelan food and mad I haven t tried it sooner. The food is tasty and hefty as well. Went with the 1 and 2 meat Arepas and can t really go wrong with either grilled or fried. Also got the Chachapa Con Queso de Mano. There s an option to add meat but opted to just keep it meatless. There s a slight sweetness to it that I think comes from the plantains. Would definitely eat here again and try the other items on the menu especially the Patacones.

Good night. Today I went to eat and saw that they took 15% of my bill without my authorization. They say that is the tip but here in the United States it is not obligatory. The customer can give what they want not exactly 15% of the bill and they take it away without the persons consent. Excuse me but this is delicate. And I dont recommend the food at all.

Vegetarian options: You could eat arepa dominó. It is made with: Arepa (of course), black bean, white cheese and ripe fried platano macho. If you don t want cheese just request take it off. If you buy it as to go and you don t mind you can add at home some vegan mozzarella and it ll taste delicious Dietary restrictions: As a person with some diet restrictions**** I ve eaten Arepas and empanadas. Those are made with only corn and I did not have any problems. I do love patacón with pulled pork with slightly sauce and they are followed my instructions very well. Natural juice is good. Pabellón Criollo is a tasty plate! In overall is you re looking for some street food or enjoy a nice lunch with good taste and less food preservatives and food processor here is not bad plan.

Very plain lunch counter atmosphere, but very clean and friendly with wonderful salsa music playing in the background. I highly recommend it!

I would not return to this place. I ordered a hamburger with 6 tequeños and they charged me 35. When I asked the guy who served me for the takeout bill, he told me that he couldnt give it to me because he wouldnt see the price reflected. They are not honest with prices.

The quality of the food has started to go down a lot, and the prices are very expensive. The waiting time is very long even though there are not even people waiting

The truth is I have eaten with you since you had the cart, but in the restaurant I have had a bad experience, they brought out my husbands food first and well everything is OK maybe what he ordered is faster than what I ordered, but then our waitress was talking and she kind of forgot my food, obviously the other guy saw my bad face and I guess he said something to him, you already eat without desire and with anger, because you know that your food has already been ready for a while, I went Manager of a restaurant and I know how times are managed and how we should spread the food, the other guy is very attentive to his tables but in particular I would say if I see my colleagues food I would help her spread it just to avoid a problem with the customer, not to mention that it is always like this

Very bland and smothered in mayonnaise and ketchup. Im not sure if thats how Venezuelan food is but it wasnt good. Also food was cold. Service is ok. The server spoke very little English so not very helpful to first time consumers. She did smile alot and check back frequently.

The flavor is not what it used to be. They lowered the quality and with those prices, its not worth it.

I do not recommend this place at all, I ordered a piece of roast beef and what they brought were 3 pieces of meat and just potatoes and sauce. It was not a meat nugget but a potato nugget. The worst nugget Ive ever had, I had to wait 50 minutes for the food. I feel like they should improve wait times and food quality. On top of that I ordered papelon with lemon and it tasted like Mistolin. Awful

I honestly liked this place but last time December 26, 2022 at 10:00pm I arrived to order food to take home. I got in line and when I was about to order, the black-haired girl who was serving told me to let her finish with the others and then she would serve me. I gave him time to finish and then he told me that they told him to stop taking orders and that he will wait for me. It seemed ridiculous to me since from my point of view he was only paying attention to others but not to me. So in the end I decided to leave. What terrible customer service. If they are going to continue serving people like this, I do not recommend this place. They should talk to their work staff and teach them better customer service.

The service seems terrible to me, a bad attitude from the waiter when serving, the truth is a bad experience, I spent $30 on an entree of patacones and tequeños, it seems excessively expensive to me, I am not satisfied with that, they charged me for the service to eat at the place . When chains like whataburger dont charge it... #caderadecaca

Yesterday I ate a regular pepito, it needed more meat and a little more flavor, the pepito only had a lot of daddy. I think they should give the food a little more flavor, it feels a little simple!

I waited 40 minutes for a patacón, a hamburger and a service of cassava with cheese, when they delivered the food to me, the starter service was frozen, I was not satisfied with that, the piece that was bitten (frozen), they simply put it in the fryer like this same as it was, and they brought it back, that is unhygienic.

The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very calm, but the truth is that it is a little expensive for me because to eat 1 cd dish of people and there were 2 of us and almost $100 is a lot, well for me I hope that others dont think the same.
