Servers were friendly. Food was questionable. This is a personal opinion so please do not hate. I ordered Jjajang rose and regular mala and it all tasted the same. I couldn t taste the difference from rose to jjajang to regular. I was expecting them to have distinct differences since both flavors are so bold in itself. The cream shrimp was good but I don t know if they didnt have the 50percent off going on I would pay $18.99 for 7 pieces of shrimp. In the end I noticed that the lid on the water bottle was not cleaned and lost my appetite all together. If you are picky about hygiene at restaurants I will definitely suggest you examine before consuming or using utensils.

This is my second time here. After visiting the first time I have been craving the food here!! I tried the Malatang level 3 and cream shrimp. The malatang is delicious! They even bring it out on a burner type thing to keep it hot while eating. Bonus points! The cream shrimp is crispy and the sauce is sweet. You should definitely try it! It says a lot if I am back after only a couple of days. :)

Guobalou (shrimp and meat) were both above average. Maratang. It tastes good. Why is the amount of soup so different from that of the group I went with? And a minimum order weight of 1 pound. This is quite burdensome. I only have a small amount. And is the continuous heating system the policy of the Korean headquarters? I dont think its necessary. If I only eat malatang, I go to Yingtang. Other than that, if I need a glass of soju, Ill go to Shaolin Mara. The interior feels similar to an old night market.

Regarding the food, I really did not enjoy this place at all. The taste had a very bitter taste and the ingredients did not look / taste fresh at all. My wife and I got the stir fry and mala soup, both were very disappointing to the point where I couldn t get myself to eat it anymore. We also got noodles but they charged us for the weight of the noodles and then separately as a side item? Which I didn t understand. I did like how you can get some side dishes yourself, but the pickled yellow radish literally tasted like it was expired. They also make you pay after eating but you have to go up again to pay? Why can t I just pay when I go and get all the food checked out? Weird system. Overall, bad experience regarding food but the service was decent. Hopefully they can improve and will try to give place another shot.

It was delicious and I ate it well. I hope all businesses run by Koreans do well, especially restaurants. I liked that they served it without it getting cold quickly. I really like the variety of sauces. It was especially fun to have a sauce recipe. If I had to pick one thing that was disappointing, there was a sauce recipe, but it was difficult to match. The ladles and spoons for the sauce were different sizes, and it wasnt 1 tablespoon. If you think of the larger one as 3TB, it fills up right away. It would be much better if you find a long one in 1TB size. May you prosper

I tried the fried rice and mala soup at SORIMMARA, and while the taste was good, the portion sizes felt too small for the price. The sweet and sour pork and mala dry pot were better at a competing restaurant across the street. The mala tteokbokki was also not very special and ended up being a bit disappointing. Overall, it was still a satisfying meal, and its a place worth visiting occasionally.

I recently tried Sorimmara Carrollton and was impressed with their Mala soup, which had a more authentic and bold mala flavor compared to other restaurants Ive visited. The Mala Tang and fried rice are definitely dishes I would come back to Sorimmara for. However, the guobaorou was a bit lacking in terms of portion size and flavor, especially considering the price, and the Mala Xiang Guo felt like the sauce didn t fully blend with the ingredients, making the dish seem somewhat disconnected. For guobaorou or Mala Xiang Guo, I would likely opt for a nearby competitor. Overall, both Sorimmara and the other restaurants are delicious, but Sorimmaras prices are a bit higher compared to the competition. That said, I believe theres room for improvement, and the restaurant can definitely get even better.

Pixiu broth is way better (deeper flavors). Nice they have a large sauce section. Had to ask for new meat (beef) bc the one that was out was all fat and looked questionable. They auto apply gratuity on parties of 6 or more (wasnt aware until the check - other than dropping off the food, no one checked up on us, and the place was empty). Music is way too loud in there!

The shrimp mama gabaroo, egg fried rice, jajjangmala and regular mala is good! I ve actually gone twice already! Posting this review in hopes that the owners address the protein issue. I don t know if it s the coolers not keeping the food cold enough or if it s because the restaurant itself is a bit on the warm side. The first time we went there was a stronggg seafood smell. So much so that we avoided all seafood options. (But it was their soft opening) The second visit we added both pork options to our jajjangmala and it tasted like it went bad. No one got sick but it really was unfortunate. We would have notified the staff but it was Labor Day and they were swamped. Hopefully this is just due to being so busy and newly opening! Hope this reaches the right people!

I went back because the food was delicious, but there are a few things I didnt like. Firstly, the spiciness was inconsistent. I enjoyed the level 4 spiciness on my first visit, so I ordered the same this time, but it was less spicy. I should have ordered level 5 instead. Also, the issue of slow meat thawing from before has been replaced by raw meat being left out at room temperature, which worries me a bit. Even though there is air conditioning, the raw meat felt unappealing and sticky when picked up with tongs. The prices arent very low, so I expect better quality.

Food, ambiance, and service were great. However, what left a sour taste in our mouths was the fact that we were charged auto gratuity and it was not mentioned to us nor was it on a sign anywhere resulting in our group tipping double the staff. If you take a look at the screen they add it into the other section rather than tips and the credit card receipt does not mention additional gratuity. While it is on our group to not double check our tab, we feel as though it should have been brought up to us at least. We have no problem getting charged the auto grat, the servers deserve it however, transparency goes a long way and was not worth losing business over something like this

The food was good but the servers seem very new and not that experienced feeling. My friend is vegetarian so she didn t put a whole bunch meat(which is normally what makes it heavy) and was told to have to put more in to make it at least 1 pound weight like what???? Why should there be a limit to order at least one pound .. but anyways the flavors are good, the meat quality is not as good as Yintang and the bowls to use to put your ingredients in were greasy.

I didnt know much about Malatang before but I had such a fun experience at the new Sorimmara! My kids are young and I also cannot eat too spicy food because I have a weak stomach. So they made the Malatang at spicy level 0! And that was my favorite dish and for my kids too! I got to select good amount of vegetables that I like into my dish and for the kids I could just give them what I know they will eat. We also got jjajangmyun style malatang and oh the shrimp dish with the nice creamy sauce was good too for kids and adults alike. They had some interesting rice ball dish which I didn t get to try this time but looked good for kids or none spicy lovers. The sauces can make them spicy too. Of course we also got spicy malatang for other spicy loving adults. We got spicy level 3. They said it was very good. For me a bit too spicy but still tasted good. They even added real crab in there and that tasted good and made the soup taste good too. But my favorite was definitely the spicy level 0 malatang. I would bring my kids here again for that very nice soothing spicy level 0 broth added with vegetables and chewy noodles. Yummmmmmmm~ Its a fun, nice environment for family for weekends and lunches. My kids thought the cute fierce panda bear was adorable! A Korean singer Ali was there too and I took some pictures of her too. Parking: I parked in the bigger lot rather then right in front of the front entrance which is limited parking as its narrow. Kid-friendliness: Best part is you can select the ingredients that you want to put into your pot. Many options for kids like the spicy level 0 Malatang, jjajang style malatang, shrimp dishes, fried rice, rice ball etc.

Our party had someone very allergic to peanuts. The sign that says that theres peanut sauce in the broth is on the scale so when you put your bowl on the scale you cant see the warning. The person at the cashier didnt warn us either. We had to get a second bowl without the peanuts but it came out with peanuts anyways, so the restaurant gave us the second bowl for free and we got a third bowl. However, we suspect there may have been cross contamination because after taking allergy medicine she didnt get better. I think the restaurant needs to take a stronger initiative to warn people about the peanuts. The food was good and the servers and managers were nice, so its a shame the at we had this experience.
