Outstanding quilt shop in historic Carrolton town square! They have a huge selection of vintage reproduction fabrics and a nice variety of threads and notions to choose from. The layout of the store is very organized and its bright and welcoming. They also offer plenty of classes for every skill level. The ladies working here are friendly and pleasant and they clearly enjoy what they do. I am impressed with everything this quilt shop has to offer and I will definitely come back!

A Wonderful craft and quilt shop with a really nice entry facade located in Carrollton, Texas . Beautiful selection of fabric and crafting supplies. Loved browsing and visiting during the 2024 All Texas Shop Hop. Look forward to returning again next year :-)

I was really looking forward to seeing the uniqueness of this store. But it turned out to be a bit disappointing. They havent played into working their fabrics and decor around the history, which would be so easy to do. Not quaint at all, just another fabric store, in an old building.

For more decades than I care to admit, The Old Craft Store has been my favorite quilt store. And not just because when I shop there during my workday I can tell my boss(husband) that I have just gone to the Post Office!

I was wanting fabric to start a quilt so was looking for a quilt store open on Sundays, since several are not open then, and found this one through a search. Drove out to Carrollton and as soon as I opened the door, I could tell I would be able to find what I was looking for. I am making a quilt for one of my nephews, and had specific colors and pattern types in mind. Being a guy, I wanted fabric that wasnt girly. The Old Craft Store did not disappoint! I prefer modern style quilts and fabrics and TOCS had plenty to fit the bill, although the saleswoman mentioned they were more of a traditional store. Fabric was organized by color, and there were a couple of rooms to meander through. It wasnt overwhelming, but still had a lot of options. Ill definitely go back when Im shopping fabric. The salesperson was awesome! So friendly and helpful. She mentioned shes worked there for over 30 yrs, so definitely has knowledge. Other customers came in and she knew them. That is my kind of shop! Anyway....5 stars all the way for this gem.

Good quality fabric, this is my favorite place for solids. Their other fabric selection is decent, not great on batiks and they are definitely on the pricier side but it is good quality. Their classes are interesting and well priced. But my main issue is the limited hours. Unfortunately I typically end up having to go elsewhere because I can t make their limited hours.

Not sure why I went here in the first place. I guess I thought they sold quilts since I saw quilts. They dont. They sell stuff to make quilts. Like I can piece together a quilt. Go figure. Back to Macys.

Very helpful if you have a problem. I loved a quilt they had hanging and Doris put a kit together for me. When I got home my friend arrived from out of town. She was trying to organize my fabrics like hers. She took my kit and separated the fabric by color. Found most of the fabrics after going thru lots of materials. Sent the shop pictures of what I had found and they told me what I was missing. Yeah, found all the pieces to make Double Vision. Hope it turns out like the shop sample. Doris did a great job on it. I will definitely be back from Waco.

Overall nice quaint atmosphere. I thought the establishment was the perfect fit for the old post office. The aesthetic of the interior stayed true to the historical heritage of the architecture. The selection was nice and very well organized as they were color coded and separate by holiday. Lots of space was provided for their cutting table and displays. All staff members were really nice and seemed passionate about their quilt making. They promoted for their classes well! I do wish they had more room for a modern selection of fabrics as well. But I understand that COVID-19 is limiting.

I generally try to support small businesses but I ve had 2 out of 2 negative experiences at this store and thought I would leave a review. I tried visiting this store several months ago during regularly posted business hours, I drove there and tried to enter and was told they were having a special event and if I had not prepaid, I could not come in. Not a big deal, I understand sometimes events happen but was surprised that they would turn away a customer, the event did not seem overly busy, so I thought I would just try again another time. Today the opportunity presented itself as my family waited for a table at a nearby restaurant. When I entered someone who worked in the store was loudly speaking negatively about people who come into the store off the street, I assume she did not know I was in there because as I came out of a back room she stopped talking mid sentence making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I will say one of the women was nice and was genuinely trying to help me, and I appreciated that, but the other woman just basically talked down to me, yelled about what a useless customer I was thinking the store was empty or ignored me completely. I will add, that though I was casually visiting this store on this trip, I m an an avid crafter who has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on machines, embroidery units, fabric and more, I have a whole room of my house custom fitted for crafting and sewing and just felt like I was treated as someoneoff the street who would never buy anything from them so there was no need to waste time with me. I will not be visiting again.

I went there thinking it was not going to be a good place to go reading these reviews. I must say I was surprised at how friendly they are they. I have been twice now and it was about 2 months apart and they remembered my wife, baby and my name. I was so shocked. It is not a post office ran by the postal service but run by the Store. It is inside a the Quilt Store, so it might have some limitations. I am not sure what they are because I have not had any issue with the needs I have had. I had so send some letters and card to Japan and they have been very accommodating for me. They are great people and would highly recommend them. Far better service they going to the Governmentally ran post office.

This is my most favorite quilt shop. I go every time I am in Carrollton. The quilts on display inspire me! I love the fabric lines and they have so many patterns it would take three lifetimes to make them all. The staff is fun and very helpful. I would be in heaven if all my birthday and Christmas gifts were gift certificates to their store. They have a whole room devoted to rulers and quilt gadgets. They also sell Chocolate! This is truly the best one stop shop and I live 500 miles away!
