I have been coming to this store for about 2 years now to play and buy board games. There is a great board game library in the side room to play while you are there. A few groups meet up here throughout the week and thats really cool of the owners and staff to welcome those groups! There are lots of tables for open play. Ive seen card games, board games, and rpgs all going on at the store. This is my go to board game store and I highly recommend them :)

Boardwalk is the best store to play at, hands down. Not sure what the few 1 star reviews are on about, The owner and all of his staff have always been super helpful and great with myself, my friends, and others Ive seen at the store. They have a great selection of products, and if they are lacking on something, its because of the distributor, not the store. Id highly recommend this store if youre into board games (pretty much anything they sell they have a copy of you can play for free, and they will teach you how to play it if you want!), any TCG although magic is definitely their flagship game (as is with most stores), and miniatures!

Their library of games to play is excellent. I couldnt think of a game they didnt have. Their purchase selection is also really good, and the staff are nice. Even on magic nights, theres still room and open tables in the back to set up. I plan on giving them my loyalty for as long as I live in the area.

This shop is amazing! Their prices are really reasonable. They have a ton of events. I see Magic being played all the time and everyone looks like theyre having a ton of fun. I regularly attend the Tuesday Boardgame events hosted by DFWGV. Its always a great time with friendly and helpful staff. They have some yummy snacks and drinks. All around a great place to patron and hang out at!

Great group of guys for learning to play Pokemon. Nice Tuesday night board game meet up. Something scheduled almost every day. Bathrooms are usually nasty though. People pee on the floor every 30 minutes. :/

I hope this reaches the right crowd. If you look and are a dressed a certain way then yes you will get treated differently and I thought a community like this wouldn t judge and accepted all people bcs it s about the game but this place has been rude, unprofessional and extremely unhelpful. So if you don t look like your typical magic player. Please try other locations like Comic Asylum, Mystery games and Common grounds. These locations are way more accepting and so helpful with phenomenal customer service.

So i went to check out the place and possibly sale some of my pokemon cards to just test the waters out..... The water was alittle murky and then went off the deep end. Long story short, I handed the guy my pokemon deck so he could go through the ones he wanted to buy..... 5 mins later he hands me back only half of my deck and says, i can offer you $50 for the cards he had left in his hand.. so i take a look at the cards he was wanting to buy and I just about wanted to laugh in his face. It was 8 cards, 4 of the cards were worth over $45 each and the other 4 cards where worth the lower end of $15 each. All cards in mint state.. lolololol.

Staff is really helpful and will banter with you, have a good sense of humor. The player base feels semi-cliquey but is usually really kind and offers helpful tips. I ve enjoyed my time coming and they have diverse format options. The selection is really wide and they offer the BCW storage boxes for super cheap!! Great store, love coming (Return to review)- after consideration I decided to bump this rating to a 5 star! I have had a great interaction with the player base, and the store owners are always quick to help me with their wide variety of products!!!

Eerie atmosphere. Large space but you could hear a pin drop there, making the experience kind of uncomfortable. Selection is large and the store is clean enough. Very little customer service, and it seemed like the owner, or guy behind the desk, was pretty quiet. Unfortunately its bizarrely hard to find individual things, and their prices are so high that they do not label much of their sealed product, forcing you to ask. I understand that prices cant be as low as the internet, but were talking about prices that are often 40-50% more than market price for sealed products. I didnt argue the price quoted, but it was immediately defended, indicating that the staff kind of knew it was unreasonably high. Also theres a bunch of mini paint from army painter, but I only saw D&D minis? Seemed a little odd.

An absolutely wonderful place to get your game on! The worker there (I sadly do not remember their name) was very kind and very very helpful this most recent Saturday evening! On Saturday when I came in to window shop, they were staying open a bit later so you can play any game they already have opened to basically give it a trial run before purchasing. Its a smart idea! Though, I feel kinda bad because I didnt have quite enough to buy the game I tried and liked at the time (Codenames: Duet), even though I really wanted to. This is probably an odd thing to want, but I wish they had some sort of way I could have contributed like, a dollar or two or some other very small price since we came in, took up their space and time, and got to test-run a game like we did. I really like this game store and I want to support it as best I can, even though I am kinda poor and cant always buy a new game. I may not be able to afford a $20-30 game very easily, but I can still afford a buck or two just to get to play while at the store. Maybe they dont want to charge for the game night so that more people can come in simply for the love of games, which I can understand and find very respectable, but if there was at least an optional way to contribute, I would like to do that to help keep this business afloat during these tough times. I will definitely be back to buy games once things in my life smooth out monetarily to keep supporting them this way too. Just wish there was a way I could at least contribute a little bit on these game nights they host because I really like them and want to go to more now that I discovered they do them.

Ive been exploring around the Dallas area hes and this is definitely in the top 2! I went for a standard tournament play and was very impressed with the staff, their professionalism and kindness. I had a great time even though I lost horribly. 1/8 rounds won. But! That didnt ruin my experience, their prize support was generous, their MTG selection was FABULOUS, and the store was clean, pleasant and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

If you re a Pokémon collector, not player then don t waste your time because, they re only interested in players and advanced ones at that, their not friendly to new customers or players. They will not take vintage, and hit you with extremely low ball offers to the point you just laugh. The workers are cool sometimes, other times they look at you as a nuisance, Collectors of any TCG STAY AWAY, your time will be wasted. Pokémon isn t their thing and it shows from lack of product. I had been shopping at this store on and off for 2 1/2 years and have watch it slowly decline. The owner needs to get his crew together, it s costing them money. I feel they re stuck in the old days, if they don t get with the times they will be closed soon. The store will be losing me as a customer and probably will continue to lose customers, with the piss poor services and poor care of their own shop. @boardwalkgames I shouldn t have had to write this review. It s a shame.

Drove two hours to check this place out, hours say Saturday until midnight on Google and the door. However, Im here at 8:55pm and the door is surely locked, and the lights are off. This is a somewhat poor choice for the board and card gaming hobby. The selection is very limited, restocks take a long time and there are few, if any, sales ever. Every time Ive gone there Ive gone home empty handed. Overall, its a good space to play games, not so great to buy them.

Great shop! Felt welcome very quickly within the EDH group. MtG card inventory is browsable in a brilliant custom-built eye-level-to-floor display case that runs the length of the play area of the store. Well-priced and highiy desirable singles were available in these cases. Cards were all organized very clearly. We will definitely return to this shop.

Staff is always super friendly. Great selection of board games. The owner is very easy to talk to, and can answer any questions about boardgames. Theres an magic: the gathering event every weekday if thats your thing. Boardgames mainly Saturday, and its always a lot of fun. Drinks and food you can bring, but they also sell snacks and stuff at reasonable prices. Lots of places nearby for food as well.

Prices are fair and competitive. Store had a decent selection of board games, magic the gathering cards, and a modest amount of RPGs. Owner is friendly and approachable. Gaming area in the back with a wide selection of games to choose from. Limited space for seating so it can get loud and crowded quickly, especially if a tournament is going on.

I ve spent plenty of time there. I hold the owner with high disdain as he is rude and doesn t seem to care about new players or people who come into the shop. Apart from the snarky attitude, shop is fine. I haven t seen anything but magic however, so if you want magic, sure, but only if you are competitive. Not a good environment for new or casual gamers

The dudes there are always really cool Cards are surprisingly cheap at times but sleeves, boxes, and just a variety is slim But it may just happen to be that I go the day after FNM and didnt realise it so thereb was less stuff Nonetheless its a pretty fun spot
