Every time I visit Bill Miller Bar-B-Q I am never disappointed. The food and service are always satisfying and pleasant. Its the main reason why I frequent Bill Miller. It is of the few remaining fast food establishments where the food quality and customer service have only gotten better as opposed to taking the downward spiral characteristic of many chain fast food establishments. Of all the bbq chains in Texas this may be the worst. Trying new bbq is risky because it is so expensive so next trip out save yourself a bundle and visit Bakers Ribs, Dickies, Spring Creek, anywhere but here.

Bill Miller food is pretty average and the same at all of his locations. The service at the San Marcos location is below any business standard. On my previous visit, I tried to place a to go order but never could get any of the six employees behind the counter to give me attention to place the order. One girl working the window (and wearing her headset) did yell over the noise that she would be with me in a minute. I watched as she services 5 drive through customers. On my second visit this afternoon, I wanted to order a family pack for some teens visiting that afternoon. I told the young male that came to the counter I wanted a family pack. He ask if this was cash or card. I told him cash and he told me to go to the dining room to order. (there was no employee in sight at that counter) I only assume this young male employee didnt know how to make change. Perhaps he will receive this training from the employer or maybe a Texas State class will include it in a freshman course. In any case, I went to San Marcos BBQ (Blacks from Lockhart is across town) and picked up an order. Both are more expensive when you are feeding a group or teens but maybe the kids were worth the extra price. After all, they do eat enough cheap food on their own. In any case, this was my last visit to this Bill Millers. Enough is enough! Typical response from BM and I have nothing else to discuss. So fill out your own complaint form. There is nothing else to be said on my part except--enough is enough.

Consistently small tacos I dont know why this location continues to make the tacos so small. I called and complained. They replaced my Tacos with even less food in them. They are not charging half price. So why do I continue to get half filled tacos. Im always amazed when I go to other locations and see that I get what I paid for.

The only reason that there are two stars instead of one is because we have had positive experiences here before, but it s just not consistent. We spent $50 here last night, we ordered ahead of time online. We gave them a few extra minutes before we headed there. There was absolutely NOBODY when we arrived and everything was printed correctly on the ticket, but somehow several things were missing or wrong. Each sandwich was supposed to have pickles and onions on it and I ordered extra. We ordered a half dozen brownies and a slice of pie and an extra side order of fries Before we left, I asked my husband to check if the pie was there and it wasn t so they were able to give us that, our baby started crying to we left and once we got home, we found out that there was no fries only three brownies and none of the sandwiches had pickles or onions on them. I wrote a complaint and am waiting to hear back.

Not nearly as good as it used to be and Noone greeted us at all. We stood at the place people usually order and were ignored until we asked where we were supposed to order. She asked if it was here or to go and we said here, but they took the extra time to box it up anyway. We wont be in any Bill Millers probably ever again.

They close at 8pm, which apparently means that you will receive poor or no service if you order after 7pm. We have had issues multiple times with them already starting to shut down the kitchen and not being able to cook food, or having a big attitude about us ordering. And to clarify Im not talking about me coming in 10 minutes before closing. Im talking about being there at 7pm and it being an issue.

Great casual place. Doesnt try to be the best BBQ in Tx; but the best consistent, local family place. Excellent sides. There are many more options than the fancy BBQ places. One of the only places to find vinegar flavored cole slaw rather than soupy mayonnaise slaw. If thats not the kind of slaw you like, youll still find something for you.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. We get a #7, sub out the fries for the awesome green beans, split it, and it is SO good. It s hard to find anything under $10 these days for a local couple to split. Here we found it! Also, this place is CLEAN. Staff is friendly.. I mean, we will keep coming here at least 3 times a week. Love it.

5/27/2024- 2:51pm I had brisket and ribs with hash browns, Mac & cheese and green beans plus a sweet tea. Didnt receive the green beans. The brisket and ribs were old and dry. Hash browns old and dry also. The sweet tea was sour. When we ordered the young man didnt want to repeat the order. When we pulled up to the window and my husband asked if he could repeat the order because he wanted to make sure he ordered it correctly the guy seemed very annoyed. He looked andry and mad, he was very rude. When he gave us the food he practically shoved it at my husbands hands. This all falls on management, at the very least insure that the food is hot and fresh.

We have been to many Bill Millers restaurants, never have we experience such chaos and unhappy employees. They had a handful of happy people, but we noticed they no longer work here in San Marcos. That was mostly why we tolerated coming here. After today we will no longer be coming back to this location. Wed rather drive to New Braunfels which is well our of our way, but well definitely not feel unwelcome. For those first timers to Bill Millers Dont judge them based on this very bad store.

This is the third time they forget to give me my full order. I came home and my little girls food was not in the bag. I had to make her something else while the rest of us ate our food. Not sure why it took 30 minutes for for a 2 piece chicken strip meal but it did. Kept asking them when it will be ready and they kept saying about 3 minutes. We were told 3 minutes multiple times for 30 minutes. Everyone was done eating and we had to sit and wait for that one meal. Very disappointing.

The food here is great, we come here a couple times a month. When it comes to the fried chicken it s great, but you have to watch what they give you. I asked for all fresh hot chicken and the mgr bring it out stating here is your fresh chicken first pieces we eat is good and hot. I go to take the next one and it is bearly warm I go to check the others and 3/6 pieces I asked for are not fresh! Wow I waited 20 minutes for fresh food and I don t get it. Not good. I mentioned this to the manager and said they must have mixed it up?? No, my food have came straight out the basket onto my plate. Joseph (mgr) got me hot pieces but I should not have had to wait longer for whet I asked for.

Amazing teas!!!! Ole fashion bbq for the entire family. Wished there was one closer to where I lived.. inexperience, everyday and quick restaurant... I am obsessed with their hashbrowns and pies. The 2-meat combo is what I have gotten for 35 years now and still love. ADA wheelchair accessible with plenty of parking. The drive thur is quick too. Awesome place to try.

Tried the Carne Guisada, potato and egg, and the bean and cheese tacos. Carne Guisada had a great taste, seasoned perfectly, and the meat was nice and tender. Potato and egg was surprisingly tasty as the potatoes were browned and crisp on the outside and tender inside. Eggs are fresh and not pre-packaged liquid, like I have come across. Bean and cheese was equally good, since the beans are seasoned well and the cheese used has a good cheddar taste. The salsa was the only thing that fell slightly short as it was a little flat tasting and could have been a little bit hotter. My overall opinion is very good breakfast tacos and portions are good, especially for the money!

The last 2 times I have been to this bill miller, the employees overcharge on simple items, charging for the wrong things and adding additions in different ways to charge more than menu price. We broke down in their parking lot. Two front tires on the truck we were towing blew up and one caught on fire. A restaurant employee came out with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. It was very scary and very hot outside. The manager invited us in, brought us each an iced tea, and the whole staff were exceptional! The best customer service ever. Thank you.

Lately I have been disappointed I come in this location..you never have enough employees to help with your customers I go to walk up and dine in and drive thru..very disappointing when I go in the dine in is always closed then I go to the walk upside and the person thats making the food has to turn around and take my order.. pretty disgusting..seems like you never have employees... I heard one of the managers sending people home...I like service not having to wait so long..for this reason I believe your cutting your staff so short...is this because they get a bonus on there payroll? I ordered a family meal as well as breakfast tacos. These guys made me pull forward from the drive thru and park to wait for my food, 25 minutes later, STILL NO FOOD! Go in, see a big bag on counter just sitting there... Ask the manager whats going on... He walks around asking as well then he figures out that big bag just sitting on the counter is mine. He hands it over to me. I got to my vehicle to pass out tacos, guess what!?! They are not in there, so I go back in grab the same managers attention tell him. He makes them hands them over and offers me a piece of desert. I declined. I just want my food in a timely manner. I dont want to pull forward if your just going to forget about me. Im not pulling forward next time.

Bill Millers never disappoints. Their fries make other fast food places look small and weak. There chicken sandwiches and bbq items are awesome. Food is always hot and comes out fast. They package the togo items neatly and with care, they don t cram it all in one bag like some places. Not to mention their ice tea is the bomb, especially on a hot day. I could eat here on a regularly basis!

This is an edit first time eating inside and I was blown away by the level of customer service given to us by Curtis! He was everywhere working and attending to people, greeting everyone and engaging them. He even noticed when our food was taking too long and went in the kitchen and came back with our food. As a former five star hotel worker this is top notch service I m sure he causes many people to come back. Everyone has food but not everyone can offer this level of service purely amazing!

Late lunch around 4 car in front of me at drive thru waited at least 5 minutes at the menus w no response finally pulled up to the window and after several minutes her order was taken. 10 minutes later I pull up to the window and was pretty much ignored for another 10 minutes. I have visited many many Bill Millers in my life time. This visit was by far the best we ve ever had. The young lady ,Destiny, working the dining room is probably the friendliest, attentive person I ve met. She had true customer service. And it wasn t just us she was friendly with. She made her way to every table. I had the tamale plate and I think they are delicious. My favorite desserts are the lemon meringue and pecan pie. The food is great but as long as you got staff like Destiny I ll keep coming back.

My husband went through the drive thru yesterday late afternoon and picked up two beef poor boys. When we opened them up it looked like they used all the scraps to make the sandwiches. They were the worst sandwiches weve had from there. We decided that were not going back.

Over 40 years of eating at BM, this is the Best BM restaurant Ive ever been too. We were immediately greeted by an employee who assisted us with a large group. He was amazing and took care of everything we needed. Other employees made sure the condiments bar was full, fresh coffee, etc. clean tables and clean restrooms.

This particular site is awful. I went there for some fried chicken about 20 minutes before closing and they told me that they only had 6 pieces of chicken strips to offer. Absolutely unacceptable. Very rude and we won t be back. Total letdown because San Antonio at least made more chicken. I hope this helps to people wanting to come to this site

Ive always picked up tacos and never really ate inside,I must say the food was hot and fresh there was a gentleman there refilling drinks and always asking if you needed anything. I wish his service and attitude was with every restaurant server,he was by far a great attendant.Keep him for many years

Went early one weekend morning so as to avoid the crowd. The staff was awesome. Joking with one another and us as we placed our order. The breakfast tacos were great and the prices are very reasonable. Ill make this one of my regular stops when traveling through the area

Absolutely, all around great. Bathroom was clean and thats a must. I had a brisket taco. Meat was very tender. Otherwise, I would not be giving a good review. Vegetarian options: There are some foods other than meats. Rice, beans, potato salad, green beans just to mention the main side dishes. Parking: Easy access. Thats one thing I look for. Kid-friendliness: There were children. And I saw high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: The threshold as you enter wasnt bulky and doorway was appalling.

Very disappointed, I use to love Bill millers but I went Friday and again today on a Monday because Ive been really craving it. I was told both times they didnt have any chicken. Had I been told before I ordered we wouldnt have waited in the line to get up to the window, but even after we got to the window we waited another 5 min before they even mentioned they didnt have any.

Amazing customer service, quality food at a reasonable price. Welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. Extraordinary customer service from the front counter, to the cashier and the servers on the floor. Curtis stood out from me immediately. Very helpful, wouldn t let me carry a thing. Wanted me to sit down and eat and let him accommodate my family with any condiments needed. He complimented my family, was very conversational and a joy to be around. Curtis and the rest of this staff is one of a kind! We will definitely return.

Tried this place out when I was passing through San Marcos last month. I really enjoy some good BBQ but this was average at best. The service was good, however, and they do have additional items on the menu like tacos and tamales if you find yourself in the mood for something different.
