La.casa Vieja is my ppl , one of the best in my opinion restaurants that you can enjoy here in texas ,the environment is pleasant and thay have this small figure at the wall of small ( casitas ) little houses , that so cute and they sell it .. lol I wish they could, now Food oh lord is so good fresh and customers service are always nice ! I have known this place for a long time...and before moving to Florida I frequented it 3 or 4 times a month...without hesitation. Upon returning to Texas I returned to enjoy that excellent Colombian food of my memories...but What an unpleasant surprise....starting with the attention, the lack of knowledge of the menu and its contents, the eternal wait (43 minutes) for a beef soup, flat and flavorless machine sodas..., the sour empanadas ( unmistakable sign of poor condition)....and to finish the bad experience...an absolutely unpleasant Bandeja Paisa...full rice and soupy beans spread all over the plate...it is not justified for a restaurant like This cannot serve in a dignified manner the emblematic dish of Colombian gastronomy....I can understand the high prices but not with that low quality of the food.

The food was delicious. I ordered a large sancocho de costilla de res which cost $20 with taxes. I won t be returning due to the small piece of meat that comes with the meal. My experience with most Colombian restaurants has been that they serve a good portion of food in the meal. I was very disappointed with this meal. Customer service was great. I was seated fast and almost immediately the waitress was ready to take my order. I loved that. The atmosphere was amazing. Clean and quiet place. I hope this helps future customers of the restaurant and maybe the owner of the restaurant.

My husband invited me to try this type of food. I loved it, but the service bothers me. When you order, the waiter takes a while to take your order and then when you are eating calmly, they are almost rushing you to remove your plate, which bothered me a lot because almost of the My mouth wanted to take away what I was eating. Horrible customer service, very high prices, dry OLD tasteless and burnt food. It looked and tasted like old frozen reheated food!.. It looked like they are struggling to get profits in I will NEVER come back to that place! There are way better Colombian restaurants than this one in Dallas! They are very dishonest too!..the menu they have online listed prices are wrong!..like $5.00 dollars less than the actual very high prices AND the bad food and service they provide doesn t reflect the prices they charge you! I paid $180.00 for five juices, five old dry empanadas at $4.00 EACH!!; three vandejas paisas (with a burnt chorizo & small piece of meat) and one sancocho soup with a very little piece of meat. The juices on milk contained lots of ice!! At $6.50! Furthermore, It was hard to get anyone to attend to you .. had to called different people to get service! It was a horrible experience!.. I will never come back there or recommend it! We (the same number of people) had dined in a good American restaurant like Olive Garden or similars for HALF the cost!

I have never been so disappointed in a Colombian restaurant, we have eaten Colombian food in all states and it is always incredible, but unfortunately this restaurant had nothing to do with it, I ordered a snack and everything was reheated and cold, the only thing that was fresh was the banana. My mom ordered a grilled chicken and it was totally orange and tasteless. Totally unpleasant, I do not recommend. Besides, it is very expensive for the quality of the food.

I ve been a long time customer since I was literally 8 yrs old. I m 34 now, I am an huge foodie, into fine dining and I travel the world. No matter where I go this continues to be a favorite spot of mine and my family. Highly recommend the mojitos, yucca frita, and empanadas to start. You can t go wrong with the bandeja paisa, chuzo mixto and bistec encebollado are our go to orders. I always order the bistec and get fried yucca on the side, you can t go wrong with that combo! Wonderful hidden gem, and the family who own it are wonderful as well as their staff who have been with them for years.

A Colombian friend recommended this place and I finally went. Everything was delicious. The portions are huge so unless youre famished, Id split a meal. The chicharron is crispy and flavorful. The steak is tender and juicy and the tostones are plantain perfection. I do not like flan but theirs goes down nicely. I recommend the juices, especially guanabana.

Second time and it was worse. Im not coming back. El Portal treats you better from the moment you enter and the food is fresh. My waiter was consist and polite but the receptionist and the greeter barely spoke English.
