This place has gone completely downhill. previously left a 4 start review but changing it to 1 star, wish I could do zero at this point. Ordered dinner from here from Uber Eats, driver had to wait at the restaurant for the food to be ready. Called the restaurant and they said there was a mixup and food has been sitting for 35 minutes. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. They wont remake it. Cancelled the order with Uber eats and you guys just lost a great customer. F-

Unfortunately the Chicken smelled bad & tasted bad too like as if it was pulled out of a room temperature box that sat for several hours and then straight to the fire to cook. It smelled really bad, tasted bad and the chicken was like powdery texture, so Im assuming it was starting to go bad, jist couldnt eat more than a couple bites, left hungryand disappointed. Cashier lady kind seemed grumpy so didnt want to approach her. In all seriousness I really wanted to like this place but they failed me, so much potential but needs the right management & crew to make it work. Also even if you ask for it ahead they never give you the BBQ sauce. Like as if its a cute trick or something idk? but youll never get it unless you go back and ask again for it. So double check for your BBQ sauce or else youll kick yourself when you get home. One more thing... They had Mash potatoes but no gravy here How do you serve mash and no gravy? I think they just made their old version of the casserole and mashed it up, it had same flavor, again no gravy. Unfortunately Ive tried this place 3 or more times and always a let down. Keep it fresh, flavorful and having your employees smile will also help.

Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. When they first came out with their chicken tenders they were the best around. Golden brown, tender & juicy and great flavor. However, the last two times we have ordered these they were very dark brown and chewy - way overcooked. They were also overly salty. I can understand if it happened once, but twice in a row is concerning. In addition, they discontinued their awesome twice baked potatoes (our favorite side) and replaced them with mediocre mashed potatoes. Unless they make some changes and bring up the quality we will likely go elsewhere.

I love this place. But I was highly disappointed they forgot to pack my peach cobbler and that was the only reason I ordered from here today. My chicken was also missing all the skin which is the best part of the chicken. Its the worst when you want something real bad but then dont get it. I visited your store with the intention of purchasing a baked chicken and brisket combo, yet my experience was marred by unacceptable behavior and substandard service. Upon arrival, I encountered a disheartening situation where one of your staff members informed me that it was her last day. This revelation already set a negative tone for my visit. I think they gave me the oldest and coldest food that they could have possibly found in the kitchen. All of my food is cold except for my fried chicken strips. Staff looks and acts untrained behind the counter. Almost like they didn t want to deal with me. I used to be a frequent visitor to Cowboy Chicken, and it was my favorite spot for their delicious baked mac n cheese and chicken. However, I recently noticed a significant change in the quality of their mac n cheese. What used to be a creamy, cheesy delight has now turned into a disappointing experience. The noodles were soggy, and the taste was quite bland, making it comparable to the standard, lackluster mac n cheese you can find in other places. As someone who used to dine here at least twice a week, this change is truly disappointing. Id have to agree with the sentiment that Id rather eat a wet sponge than the new mac n cheese. Its a shame when a restaurant you once loved makes a change for the worse, and it has certainly affected my dining choices. I hope Cowboy Chicken reverts to their previous quality, or Ill have to find a new favorite spot.

Absolutely the worst run business. I stopped for chicken on my way home. I spent $40 and got home to find a bag of chips and corn. I had to drive the entire way back to find out that there was no mangers at the restaurant and the employees would could only text with one. They couldn t give me a receipt for my refund without a manager and kept telling me it would take 1/2 days for the refund. I was fine waiting the days but not without a receipt. UPDATE Sep 2023: Good to get back here. We have eaten at their other locations since our last visit way back when. We got our usual 1/4 chicken with two sides. The sweet potato was huge and the baked mac/cheese was very good. Plenty for leftovers. UPDATE Feb 2023: Good to get back here especially with a buy one get one free enchiladas meal as loyalty club members. Tasted very good. Lots of people dining in and take out for weekday lunch hour. Their sweet corn side dish was very tasty. Aug 2021. Back to use loyalty club coupon and because we had other errands to take care of in area. Popular with the post-church crowd with friends and family. Great meal again. We dont get to Cowboy Chicken that often as one closest to home was closed. Too bad. OooRah! They are open for limited dine in during virus crises (2020), just a few tables. We dont eat at this location often but closest one to home is now closed. Ordered online and they made me add a $1 add on for ice cream in the app because I forgot my wallet which I understand I don t want anything for free but $1? I had dreamt of wood-fired rotisserie chicken. On paper it makes total sense as an ultimate way to prepare chicken. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the chicken here was dry, over brined, had little smoke flavor, and the thighs were the size of chicken wings. Fortunately, the customer service was great. Even better was the elote and the cucumber-jalapeno lemonade. Like the best elote Id ever had. What surprised me was the seeming absence of mayonnaise that is ubiquitous in other elote implementations. The cucumber-peno lemonade was a revelation. Beautifully refreshing. Both those are worth coming back. Oddly enough, I never want to try the chicken there again. Im dumbfounded that you could go through the effort of maintaining a wood fire (that im now skeptical wasnt real, like fireplace logs), only to fall so short in the actual end product.

Me and my husband just moved to the area and this is literally across the street from us , so we were super excited to try it out . The fries were cold and hard and my chicken sandwich was ok after I peeled off all the burnt skin that almost broke my tooth when I bit into it. That pic is the pile of burnt chicken , didn t eat the fries after a few . Such a shame , really wanted this to be good , my husband got the brisket sandwich. Chicken is always great! Never had issue til today with service. Guy in charge for Sunday lunch was rude and bad mouthing the guys in the back to the cashier, saying he s ready to start yelling for them to hurry. Then, I was patiently waiting for my meal and he tells the guys in the kitchen that he needs my meal now because I was staring him down. Mind you, I was near as is small lobby but I was lost in my cell phone while I waited. I have worked restaurant so have lots of patience but not tolerance for rudeness, bad food or dirty restaurant. In this case it was the first. As he handed my food I asked if he has some hot sauce. He then goes to struggle with register and says $1.08. Surprised I asked why was charge for a couple hot sauces but if I eat in can eat all the hot sauce I want. He proceeds to say my guys charge for it. I asked again and he said yeah. I told him nevermind as he tried to hand me about half a dozen or more containers of hot sauce (I had only asked for two). Never been charged for hot sauce at this store or any other Cowboy Chicken stores. This guy needs a new job if can t handle the Sunday lunch rush. Brisket always has inedible hard over cooked pieces in about 1/3 of the portion. The manager rudely said they cant be removed because they are pre-portioned (why didnt the cashier tell me that?). The okra is usually more seasoned with spices. Bonus from dining here: your hair and clothes now smell like smoke.

The chicken was great, crispy skin and moist chicken. The enchiladas were however a disappointment and didnt taste great and were breaking apart. It feels like this was introduced as a way to use up left over meat to avoid waste. Service was great as we ordered 3 enchiladas and only got 2 and they made us another 2 as a result.

Great value spent less money than at most BBQ places. The portions of food were excellent. Everything from the chicken to the brisket had great flavor. I highly recommend checking this place out you wont be disappointed. And the staff are friendly and very attentive to all guest. Have eaten here a half dozen times. Always good. Got the corn as a side last night. Was horrible. Had one ingredient- corn. No seasoning, no jalapeños, none of whatever else comes in the amazing street corn. I could have opened a can of corn, poured it into a bowl and it would have been just as good. It wasn t even fully cooked 1 out of 10. Ruined the meal. Main reason we get chicken here is because of the potatoes and corn. Potatoes were good, chicken was good. Corn was inedible Not sure what the issue was I ll try again, but I ll have to make the super weird request to see the corn before I order it I guess.

The food here is amazing! I loved the sandwich the Laredo. The chicken taste fresh and their strawberry lemonade is a must! The sides are delicious and a great portion. It is one side per entree. I will be coming back!

Wanted to like it more, but not in my taste for seasoning. Had chicken quarters, green beans and Mac and cheese. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned, but oversalted. Green beans were cooked well but so much salt! Mac tasted like kraft cheese slices, I thought it would taste more like real cheese...

I ordered 1/4 chicken and brisket for 15 bucks. Chicken was cold, old and dry. Brisket was cold and dry as well. I waited 20 minutes to get my order. I got home... 5 min away and noticed that I got no roll along with old food. I called and got Rose. After I told her about my food she basically said... uhm.. well you can come back or I can refund your 25 cents for the roll. I asked for her name, thanked her and politely hung up. I probably wont be back.
