Just moved north from San Antonio and wanted to find some nachos. I saw Esther s actually melted shredded cheese and broiled theirs so gave it a try. They were excellent! They even fry the tostada chips fresh to order. The beef fajitas on top were tender and cooked perfectly. The waitress was super friendly and it was not even crowded for a Friday night. I can t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

There are plenty of other Tex-Mex places, so please dont go to Esthers Tex-Mex! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the unpleasant smell of dirty dish rags. Still hoping for the best, we sat down and waited for the waiter. After a while, he finally came to take our order. However, not even two minutes later, he returned and asked us what we had ordered! I ll never understand why some wait staff think it s a good idea to take an order without writing it down. We remained optimistic and polite, so we kindly repeated our order, still hoping for a decent meal. Unfortunately, the food was not impressive at all. Youre better off going to Chuys or any other Tex-Mex place in town. The appetizer plate we shared was mediocre and forgettable. I had two margaritas, each a different flavor, and both were watery. The overall dining experience was disappointing. The ambiance was lacking, and the service was subpar. We were really looking forward to enjoying a nice Tex-Mex meal, but Esthers Tex-Mex did not deliver. I don t come to Buda that often, but when I do, Ill make sure to avoid this place. There are many other restaurants that offer better food and service, so spend your money somewhere else.

The good reviews pulled us in, but everything else about this place pushed us OUT! Chips and salsa tasted like they came from the gas station across the street. Drinks tasted premixed. 95% sure the food was frozen from a box. Inside of the restaurant smelled musky too. Luckily we were on the patio. The service was good though, I ll give it that!

We had a similar experience as others. Drawn in by the appearance and by its recommendation in our Airbnb book. Atmosphere is nice but the food is subpar. Salsa looks good but has no real taste. Honestly the food was pretty much the same. Drinks tasted pre-mixed and I questioned if there was even alcohol in them. Ive had better Palomas out of a can. My wife said the same about the margarita. We love trying local places and avoid chains when we travel out of town but I think I would have preferred taco bell.

Marginal at best on all counts. Slow service, messed up the drinks which arrived late. The place was cold with frigid air blowing uncontrollably. I got the shivers, looking around most patrons had crossed legs and arms, so I wasn t alone. I won t be going back, very disappointed. I don t leave a lot of reviews, but this place deserves it. Hope they can improve.

Poor quality food. The beer arrived with a huge clump of salt on it. The margaritas that everyone is saying are wonderful come out of a machine and are average. I ve had better Mexican from a food truck save the money go to a real restaurant. 4 people for 75.00 , not worth it.

Amazing service. Extremely attentive waitstaff. Best bang for your Buck in buda, paid $12 for a beerita that comes with a long neck Dos Equis and a full frozen margarita. Unless you re getting fajitas menu items range from $10-$12 TOPS. Definitely making it a Sunday go to, amazing happy hour prices ($5.00) nachos?!?!? Take the whole family their great interior!

It wasnt our first time, and we went back because the food was so good. Margaritas were just excellent - some of the best we ever had. Food felt very authentic and was on par with prices. Our waiter was very nice and eager to please. The only let down was the somewhat questionable cleanliness of the restrooms- meaning they were very dirty. That alone will keep me away. Drinks, food and service excellent.

Today, was my first time going into Esthers restaurant after living in Buda for 14 yrs located off Main Street by the railroad trucks. It was a pleasure to meet and hug the owner Esther, who was stocking and doing inventory of restaurant. I LOVE THE WAY HOW SHE GREETED HER MOTHER AND HER MOTHERS MOTHER RED CARPET . I LOVE HOW SHE OPENS HER DOORS TO THE YOUTH TO BE A POSTIVE ROLE MODEL FOR THE GENERATION COMING UP. ABBY AND HER MOTHER WAS A BLESSING WAS A REFLECTION GOD EXIST BECAUSE OF FAITH AND SHOWING LOVE. Esther s is a great place for classic tex-mex food, on Main St. in Buda, Texas. The atmosphere is very artsy with each wall looking like an Instagram museum. The inside seating is ample and they also outdoor patio which was very nice. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent as were the margaritas. Overall this is an excellent spot to try and worth driving to Buda if you live i the surrounding area. Two thumbs up for Esther s!

Great little place to hang in Buda with very reasonable prices. I d be remiss not to start with how awesome their margaritas are! (You can also get a few to go) The food here is solid Tex-Mex. We recently went and had the mixed fajitas with chicken, steak and chorizo - I ve never had them this way but they were really good. Typical sides, rice and beans and chips/salsa. I like their queso compuesto too. We like the service and the atmosphere. The music is always great and super nice staff. Again, do yourself a favor and get their margaritas! We ll see then again soon!

The outdoor appealing is sort of kind and since we have been living around here for years, we decided to stop here. Atmosphere indoor is nice too, presentation of their plates are good, but very pricey for what you get. Our steak quesadilla had a terrible taste (no spice at all with weird taste). Our Chicken Flautas (just 2) were very hard to chew. Chicken chunks too dried untasty. We paid a big check for something that could be cheaper and tasty in other much better restaurants around the area. Service was nice. Definitely I dont recimend this place and of course, wont go back. Sorry.

The restaurant has a cool look to it and that s about it. We have lived in Buda for 3 years and this was our first visit. Having been a server for many years in my youth, I will not comment on the service. Instead, I will focus on the food. I ate the spinach and mushroom enchiladas and so did my partner, my son had a burger and my daughter had a corn dog. The burger was a frozen patty they heated on the grill and charged us $6.50. The enchilada plate comes with 2 enchiladas rice and beans. The tortilla for the enchilada was coming apart as we ate. Rice and beans were fine but we expected better quality food. The restaurant has a unique smell that makes it very unappealing and the water tasted like faucet water. I am Hispanic so I usually give Tex-Mex places some grace but I would not recommend this to anyone. They re happy hour drinks are also overpriced. Instead, go down the street to Chavelos, pay a little more, get the same quality service if not better and eat better quality food.

The owner is rude every single time we go in. She only cares about your money. I ve seen her yell at other customers kids. I sat at the bar while waiting on a to go order and she would rather stare at me then ask if i needed service. The food is okay. And the other servers are nice. Although, I know a few who have come and gone due to her attitude. Her attitude alone will be running this place into the ground. Do not waste your hard earned money to Keep paying her. I got the tortilla soup and skinny margarita and neither were great. The soup hardly had any chicken and the margarita tasted like a mix. The server didn t check back so I went up to ask for my check and got a chewed up pen to sign with. Lastly, the water tasted a bit off and the patio smelled a little like garage.

We decided to have a small birthday gathering at Esthers Tex Mex. When we arrived the place was pretty busy. We sat down with our party and waited....and waited. Our waitress finally came and took our drink orders. Most of our party received their drinks. After another easily 10 min, we received the rest of our drink order. We waited for our waitress ro return and she never came. I had to go and request she come to our table. She came, took our order, and brought out drinks. That was the last time we saw her serve us. Our table sat with only our remaining appetizers and ice melting in our glasses. No water, no food and no drinks. We decided it was time to leave. I once again had to go up and request our tab. After waiting at our tables and no tab arriving, I went to get our tab and was handed it by our waitress. After seeing our tab and having gratuity still included, I complained. Our waitress was apologetic as the restaurant was busy. It was busy, when we arrived, this was now later and we could have been servered but were still not. I even had unpleasant words with the owner who said she was OK with her staff providing shi*** service. Our party could have easily spent and additional $200 to $300. Save your money and visit an establishmet who actually appreciates the business you bring to them. None of us will be returning.

The Happy Hour Margaritas were great. The watermelon Margarita tasted like a regular Margarita. The strawberry was actually amazing. The Botanas platter was great. The food was delicious and the staff were warm and friendly. They provided a speedy service and the beer was fantastic. As people visiting from Ireland we felt we got a warm welcome and experienced great southern hospitality.

They did a great job for us. They mentioned they were short-staffed and that it could result in longer than normal service times but we thought the service was very quick and enjoyed our meals.

Great place to have some cold drinks n yummy variety of food. Chips n salsa, very spicy but good. Nice,cozy restaurant. Clean restrooms. Waitress was nice n polite got r drinks n food correct. Fun time with family n friends.

Extremely disrespectful owner, is not good to her employees and shows nothing but disrespect to customers and other workers, skip going here and go to Garcia s, when I called to complain the actual owner told me that the issue was my fault and then she hung up. Again skip this place their food is sub par at best

Okay so we re just gonna get this started with Dylan. Dylan the garçon. He was amazing. The food was good too. It wasn t gourmet but I m also very picky with food. The drinks were flowing and Dylan was amazing. He was just smiling throughout the whole visit. He was extremely understanding and always made sure we were good throughout the whole experience. It was our first time visiting Esther s. We were not disappointed at all. If you re thinking about going to Esther s, make sure you get Dylan to take care of you. He has glasses. He s a charming young man. He s a treasure to the restaurant. Moral of the story, get Dylan.

Margaritas - A Good - B- If you find yourself in Buda you have to try the signature Slicks Margarita. They are potent and delicious! The Mexican food here is good, but nothing special. Prices are very reasonable and the owner and staff are very welcoming.

Staff is incredibly friendly! I run for Favor and they offered to bring my pickup order to my car even though i had parked all the way across the street. They held the door for us and treated us with the definition of hospitality.

I m giving two stars for the ambiance and for the waitress we had. I didn t catch her name, but she was lovely! As for the food...I was honestly shocked at how bad it was. I specifically came for tacos. They have tacos on the menu online, but not only did they not have tacos, they barely had anything on the menu. I got the fried avocado with ground beef and there was no cheese, which I thought was strange. The food tasted like there was no salt, no spice, nothing. Apparently their margaritas are good. Maybe I ll give it a go during happy hour and edit my review if they re as good as I m told!
