Went to this place for first time and not impressed. Seated and sat for at least 10 mins before even being addressed by an staff members. Ordered coffee and attempted to order fruit. Waitress advised we dont have any fruit. Its sunday morning and tall boast about breakfast and brunch and no fruit. Coffee was being poured out of warmer container.

waited for 30 minutes to be seated just for us to end up leaving. once we were seated at a table we waited for 20 minutes before deciding to leave. we decided to go because no one greeted us or even said they would be by soon to help us within that time. servers were standing near by talking but no one ever came to even get our drink orders within that 20 minutes of being seated. will not be going back here after this experience.

The burgers and fries are very good. However, the fish and chips is terrible. The first basket they brought out looked like it died on the pass waiting for the other food to get ready. They made a second basket and it was just as bad soggy, dripping grease when you pick it up, absolutely no crunch, and woefully under seasoned. And to top off the experience, the service was very slow so much so that we had to ask the kitchen to get our server twice because no one was tending to the dining room. If you have time to kill, check it out, but don t get the fish!

Ive had better Mac & Cheese from a box, dont recommend getting it. Service was slow, yet polite and courteous. There was about 7 tables seated, 3 of which were done eating and our food STLL took nearly 20 minutes... way too long. We didnt get our silverware til AFTER our food was served. Cheap drinks, didnt I.D. anyone at the table. Only $23 for 2 people at brunch time, I guess it was worth it; you could make better breakfast food at home, in my opinion.

First off the place smelled like vomit, but we were going to power thru it. I actually told the hostess there were 6 of us, but it was actually 7, my bad. When we asked for a chair the girl got pissy and said, I ll get you a chair! . Then, we noticed a 7 top and the place was empty so we asked to move and she said no! I was told to sit you here . Some we left. We had planned to order appetizers, drinks and dinner. Plus, we aren t cheap tippers. Most in there didn t act like they wanted to be working, just chatting and hanging out.

Cute place in Old Bryan. Staff was professional and friendly. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken breast. The dressing was off and the lettuce was gritty like they may have forgotten to wash the lettuce. Would still try them again and order something different next time.

Went today for lunch, and I got one of their burgers. Barely had any cheese or onion on it and had the smallest slice of an avocado imaginable. Also, the wait time for my tables food was between 30-40 minutes and there were maybe 3 other tables..when we asked how much longer the wait would be our food, it *magically* appeared and it was cold. So seems like it had been sitting out for a while. We ve gone here quite a few times and have had excellent food and service before. I have no idea what was up today, but we don t as have any plans on dining here any time soon.

service was very slow. took a very long time to get our food. Just 2 of us. had to ask twice for things.. to be fair, they were also waiting on a large table, but when we arrived, the large table was almost done with their meal. the chicken fried steak was good, but the club sandwich was not so much. the bacon was really burnt, but if you like it like that, it might be good. I would still say give it a try. Maybe it was just one of those days, you know?

Shrimp pasta was very bland and oily, service was very sub par. The windowsill next to the table was super dirty, which was gross. We waited at the ice cream counter after eating and nobody even acknowledged us, so we left. I d definitely recommend Proudest Monkey instead.

Didnt realize the place was working under a new name. The atmosphere still has that family, downtown feeling. The staff was nice and very helpful. The food portions seemed small upon arrival but I was totally satisfied when I was done. Will definitely be back soon.

I went on a Sunday evening; the food was quite good, but Im only giving 4* because my fried chicken was oversalted, probably due to overly concentrated brine. The service I received was excellent, the food was fast, and the place was relatively quiet: a welcome reprieve from places that think blasting bad music is atmosphere Oh yeah, and the beer is cold and reasonably priced.

Been here twice and did not have great experiences either time. On Mothers Day it took well over an hour for our food to arrive, and when it did, it came staggered so that over 5 of our party of 14+ didnt get their food for about 20 minutes after everyone else. The waitress was very nice and seemed to do her best to service us well. The food was decent. I had the 3 egg omelet with pancakes. I enjoyed the wheat toast. My moms bacon came out cold, but otherwise she seemed to enjoy her meal. I didnt hear any complaints from anyone about their food/drinks. I definitely like the atmosphere, but it didnt appear that the service should have been what it was considering the place wasnt even at capacity. I personally tend to avoid coming here, but Id be willing to try them again because I want Bryan businesses to succeed.

Update: lost 1 star due to bad service the last 2 times weve been here outside of weekday lunch hours. The waitstaff sits around chatting when the owner is not here. Last 2 times, weve had to seat ourselves, grab our own menus and utensils. Last time we waited 15 minutes before someone came to get our drink order. She came back with the wrong drinks. Then when she brought out my food, I asked her for tartar sauce for my fish and chips, and she told me they were out. Why wouldnt she tell me that before I order? The biggest issue here is the apathy amongst the waitstaff. Been here for lunch a couple times now, service has been hit or miss. Its been clean the times Ive been here for lunch during weekdays. The food has been consistantly good. Ive had their fish & chips (recommended), their burger (its decent), chicken fried steak (recommended), and their cheese sticks (decent). The fish & chips are crunchy and not greasy, their fries are really good too, also not greasy. I particularly appreciated the sourdough bun on their burgers, very soft and flavorful. The patty was decently seasoned too. The chicken fried steak was very juicy and flavorful, and their cheesesticks were alright. They seem to put all their seasonings and flavor in their marinara sauce because the cheese stick alone is flavorless. The tea is good. Will continue returning for lunch. I was very disappointed in this place. The food was decent but the service was terrible. It took forever for someone to even acknowledge us when we sat down, and several tables that sat down and ordered after us got served before we did. There were so many open tables but almost if not all were dirty and no one was cleaning them. We were charged a credit card fee when we paid cash. I also heard a waitress walk by and say they hated people to another waitress about a table that just left. Would not ever go back.

This was our first visit but not our last. Everything we ordered was fantastic! The cheese sticks were my favorite! No one makes them the way they do here. People were wonderful. The only complaint was not getting my side of gravy and being charged $3 for a glass of water. Otherwise, it was perfect. Kid-friendliness: Great kids meal selection and an ice cream included with the meal. Wheelchair accessibility: Concrete ramp and plenty of space to maneuver around tables.

Was here for dinner with my family early on a Friday evening. Almost left immediately because of the smell. The whole place has an off-putting vomit smell. The floors and tables need to be deep cleaned, it smells like old vomit has dried into the wood. Deciding we could power through, we ordered the pretzel, fish and chips, and jalapeno burger. Pretzel and fish and chips were great, the burger was mediocre and the bun was still frozen on the inside. Lemonade tasted like the lines need to be cleaned (moldy). Service was great. Definitely some maintenance needed.

The food might be great, but i couldnt tell you. I came in ready to splurge and treat myself. I was in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and it was so uncomfortably cold that i almost left immediately. Well we ve been here twice, first time was fine. Food was ok and waitress was kind and attentive. Second time lasted about 5 minutes before we walked back out. The second time we were not greeted by staff but by a random man asking us to buy him a root beer float..then he began rambling about other random things before walking off (no staff to be seen still). Needless to say we were uncomfortable with the environment and took ourselves next-door. My suggestion: don t allow randos to accost potential customers, it s very off putting and no one wants to deal with it while just trying to get dinner.

I was looking for a good burger for delivery tonight for my family. I had never heard of this place, but we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It was a very decent burger.. Good size and flavor. The bun was a sourdough type and was really good. The fries were almost a cross between regular and seasoned fries and were delicious. The only thing I think I would have liked different would be I would have chosen something other than american cheese.. Maybe they have that option, I didnt notice. Other than that it was great. Its probably a good thing that I dont still work in downtown Bryan cause they would get a lot of my money lol. I will keep this on my list for burger delivery.

Went here with a party of 15-20 after my stepbrother graduated from Rellis Campus - great service, and they got all the food out together. I think we had atleast 7 chicken fried steaks at the table, and not a crumb left on the plates at the end. Great food, come check out Billys!

I have been here several times and for the most part the experiences have been 3, 4 or even 5 stars. However on the last visit, Nov 30 the experience wasn t so great. Our waiter was great. The bartender and a very strong old, burnt grease odor are what made this a bad experience. Our table was directly in front of the kitchen doors so every time it was opened, the old grease odor would waft out. The bartender is the biggest issue. We were there between 5:30-7pm. I was checking to see what beer was in draft and saw the bartender cough, without even attempting to cover his mouth, all over his cup he had in his hand and was drinking from. It and anything that was directly in front of him on and under the bar. He made NO effort to clean or wash his hands at all. I walked away and my table didn t order anymore drinks after that. Had we seen this happen before, we wouldn t have ordered any. I just don t understand how someone working in food service has no thoughts about practicing good hygiene.

This was our 2nd time here... 1st time, Logan was such a pleasure. 2nd time, there were so many things that happened... First and foremost, they are lacking management for the front of the house. We had quick service. Drink and food order was put in very quickly. The things that were kind of alarming: -Phone was ringing, my husband (a customer) jokingly said, Do you want me to that order? They ACTUALLY handed him the phone and let him answer it. He only handed it off to them because they were putting in an order and I made him give it to one of the servers. (Ive been a manager and would have been mortified.) -Food came out, looked absolutely delicious. London Broil and Chicken Fried Chicken. No silverware. Our server looked at us, saw we had no silverware, and just walked away. She didnt seem to care. Was more interested in what she had going on with her coworkers/friends sitting at the bar and went to the back. We ended up walking out before we tasted the food. Seemed more like a hangout place than an actual food establishment.

Great find! The atmosphere is nice, calm. Music is not overwhelming. It is open and clean. Waitstaff is awesome, Cade was so nice and just the right amount of attentiveness. Bartender makes a nice berry whiskey sour. Very smooth. The fries are some of the best I ever had and the coconut shrimp was very good. 12 nice sized shrimp on skewers. We will definitely go back.

The food was good. The giant soft pretzel was great. I wanted a bit more salt, but its still great. I had the fried chicken sandwich it was okay, the sauce needed more flavor i think the slaw was too wet, maybe take the sauce and mix it with the sauce replacing whatever is already there, i added pickles to mine im glad i did cuz it really needed that acid to break up the ranch mayo mix of flavor it had. Needed the buns toasted, it became soggy and started to become a mess to eat. The fries were great! There was for sure a bread to meat ratio issue, more meat than bread, which is better than the other way around but still makes it odd to eat. This was both burgers and sandwiches. If you get mashed potatoes, youre going to have to request gravy... which was odd to me... but i guess, sure. Service was a great spot on kept up with drinks, met all my odd requests, and super frindley, Eric, i believe, was his name. This was once the Sweet relish loaction downtown, i believe. It still looks like it in there. Its so dark in there, too. New place should have a bit of a new look, make it interesting to those that have been here before, not a chance to long for what was once there.

Stopped by on word of mouth that they had a good burger here and boy did they ever! Its almost cheaper than going to those dying fast food chains. The bar had a lot of great selections. Marissa, my server was attentative and made sure everything was good, as it was. The highlight of my experience was having a chit-chat with Madison. She made some really tasty drinks. Im not sure if she was a manager, but if not, she should be. It is rare to go into some restaurants and feel welcomed and not rushed. Pleasure to have stopped by and definitely will return. We arrived at around 730 on a Sunday evening. Upon arriving at the host station I was a little uncertain on what to do, whether it was self seat or should I wait for someone to seat me. I will note that several employees all came out of the kitchen at about the same time before one came up to seat us. I ordered the chicken qusadilla for an app and got the Philly cheesesteak sandwhich for my entree. My friend got the coconut shrimp. None of the food was bad by any means but it was nothing that blew us away either. The coconut shrimp was more heat than anything. The server we had was nice enough however the service was definitely slow considering there were at least 10 employees working tonight. I will add that the place was far away from being busy and only about 8 tables were there including us through the entire time we were there which was about an hour. We were seated directly in front of the bar and the 2-3 people that were behind the bar most of the time we were there could have easily come over to refill drinks but they were focusing almost all of their attention on a young blond girl at the bar. We ordered some shakes for desert but were not offered a dessert menu and did not even notice the amazing looking cookies or brownies until after we paid that were by the ice cream cooler. I think an actual section on the menu for dessert would be great. The table also was sticky when we sat down and considering the amount of workers present with the small amount of tables, the whole place should have been pretty spotless. The bartenders could have easily jumped in on any of this as they were mostly talking with the one girl sitting at the bar.

The food was really great, we came in here during Spring Break a few weeks ago (a group of three). We had their huge pretzel appetizer and it was delicious. I had their chicken ceasar salad and it was great. However, we probably waited over 20-30 minutes before we could give our order, only to be told several items werent available in a row. It was then over an hour before we actually got our food. Usually we try to be as understanding as possible since we all have experience in the service industry, but it was hard to understand why it took so long when we were one of only three tables in the whole restaurant for the entire two hours we were there. There was never an apology for the food being delayed either, or any kind of explanation, even though there were 5-6 staff walking around or socializing with each other. The food was great, the price point was solid, but we probably wont try again due to the service.

We popped into Billys on a Sunday afternoon on the recommendation of a friend of mine and were not disappointed! They were not busy at all when we went but dont let that dissuade you from visiting. It was by no means an indicator of a lack of quality! I ordered a jalapeno burger and fries and we also ordered some of the fried cheese for the table. Both were very tasty. Awesome burger buns and the fried cheese has an awesome batter/breading on it! Service was great as well! Definitely will revisit next time Im through.

Went on a Monday evening. Impressive menu and friendly wait staff. I liked the quiet, local feel going on a night that wasnt super busy. This place is located downtown in the old Must Be Heaven spot. First time here we started off with the Bavarian Pretzel for an appetizer. This thing was enormous, probably enough for 3 or 4 people and tasted just like the ones I remember having in Germany. It comes with a beer cheese sauce that I thought I wouldnt like but was pretty good. (There is also a bottle of mustard on the table.) I had the chicken fried steak, which comes with either mashed potatoes or fries and green beans. Ive eaten a boatload of chicken fried steaks in my lifetime and this one ranks among the best, easily the best in BCS. (Sorry Sodalaks!) My girlfriend had the chicken fried chicken with the same sides and she loved it. This place has a full bar and something like 20 beers on tap for you IPA beer nerds. Awesome place, not very many tables. Second trip here and I had the hamburger and fries, was very good. Only thing I didnt like here was the mac n cheese, such a disappointment compared to the rest of the outstanding food served here.

This was our second family meal at Billy s and it was just as delicious. We had burgers, chicken tenders, fish and chips and chicken fried steak. Everything was amazing and especially for the price! It s also a great option for lunch. Their menu has a wide variety so everyone (even picky eaters) will find something interesting. I like that the children s menu isn t just something frozen dumped out of a bag. Everything tastes freshly made and of good quality. Next time I need to pick something other than the chicken fried steak since there are so many other things that look tasty but it s just so good. The atmosphere is laid back and it s not noisy like other places where you practically have to yell to have a conversation. Definitely try it out if you re looking for a great meal.

Let me start by saying our service was great. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. And that s where my good experience ended. We got fried calamari and it didn t have a singular seasoning on it. Not even salt. The batter was entirely void of flavor. Then to the entrees. We got a Cobb salad which was okay for the most part, the chicken was under seasoned. The chicken Cesar salad was a small portion for the price. The grilled chicken was entirely void of seasoning. Not even salt and pepper and it was extremely dry and overcooked. The chicken and waffles seemed promising, the chicken was juicy and cooked very well but it too had no seasoning at all. The waffle was extremely dense and required copious amounts of syrup to be moist enough to consume. The side of Mac n cheese was not fresh, it had little to no actual cheese on it, there was no seasoning on it it was cold and stuck together in a solid layer. The chicken bacon ranch wrap was alright. The fries were cooked well but again, no seasoning. To top it off the restroom was out of order, and when I asked for a nutritional facts sheet they said they didn t have one. Both things are against industry operation standards. As we prepared to leave a table of 7 that had been seated for 15 or more mins got up and left because they had still not even been acknowledged for service. We paid for all the food except the Mac n cheese but I kind of wish I hadn t.

Came to eat an hour and a half before the parade. Very very slow service. We understood cause the parade right ? We were too patient. About 50 minutes just to get our drinks we decided to finally get up and leave. We had already ordered it so we went back to get it to go. We saw this eatery on the news & decided to check them out. Roasted chicken dinner for two sounded good & the pics looked golden brown. Well, not the case. It appeared to be half roasted & half baked & very bland. Then as we were leaving we circled back to check out the desserts. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries, I did get the burger but no fries. The meat was smaller than a quarter pounder at McDonalds. Cost just a little over 15 dollars and didnt get the fries.
