About the Company
rating: 4.6
We would like to welcome you to our Restaurant located in Historic Downtown Bryan in a building dating back to the 1880s, a time when settlers from Germany and all over the world began making their homes in Bryan. For more than 3 years we restored this building to its former glory. Great craftsmanship was required to build a replica of a real 1800s pine ceiling as was used commonly throughout Germany and Austria at the time. We hope you will enjoy our selection of homemade traditional dishes and our range of quality German beers, all of which are still brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.

The most racist restaurant in CS/Bryan. We waited over two hours and didnt get a table, and the waiter was impolite and pretended not see us. Then a group of people just came in without reservation and they allowed them in directly. How could this place exist in a college town?

Food is excellent but unfortunately the pretzels are really bad. Its surprising because everything is so fresh and always served hot but then our pretzels came and they were cold in the center, dry, and really unappealing. We told the server and he immediately brought a fresh batch and it was the same thing. I hate to leave a bad review because Ive been a fan for years but this pretzel thing is something that really needs to get fixed. It tastes like they were frozen and similar to the ones at grocery stores. Please step your pretzel game up. Anything is better than what you have now and one more time for the record the food and everything else is top notch.

**Rating: ** We had a fantastic dining experience at Bavarian Brauhau! We were recommended by a friend who was right when she mentioned how delicious everything was. The meal started with an amazing leek soup that was rich, creamy, and full of flavor truly a perfect starter. If I could describe it poetically, it felt like a warm hug! Next up was the Bavarian sampler, which gave us a delightful variety of traditional German dishes, each one more delicious than the last. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making it a standout on the menu. Lastly, the bread pudding was to die for! It was so wonderfully textured and sweet that I dream of it even a week later. The restaurant has a cozy and authentic Bavarian atmosphere that adds to the overall charm. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable meal. If youre in the area and craving some authentic German cuisine, Bavarian Brauhaus is a must-visit! Next time I come out to visit my friend, I m coming straight back!

Everything was absolutely fantastic! The mushroom sauce, breading on the schnitzel, spaetzle, and potato leek soup were amazing. If I was forced at gunpoint to find one negative thing, its that the chicken schnitzel was a bit too thick/uneven whereas my experience with German cuisine (in Germany) typically uses thinner pieces of meat (filleted) that cook more evenly without overcooking the center. Im definitely coming back, and definitely bringing family! Oh and if you get the soup, try it first before adding salt since its seasoned JUST RIGHT! Parking: We found a spot immediately but there were only two or three remaining spots left (but the place was pretty packed so I think its totally fine!)

One of my favorite restaurants in B/CS! The food is always fantastic and is a great price compared to most other sit-down restaurants. Everytime I get a schnitzel with fries, and theyre always amazing! You cant go wrong with the Jagerschnitzel or the schnitzel heaven and hell, the gravies are fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and the service welcoming, a great spot for family and friends going out to eat. Ive been going semi-regularly for the past few years, and most of the staff are still the same wonderful people. My family and I are always excited to hear what the bread pudding of the week is, and the gal who makes them is so talented! This place feels like such a local secret, more people need to be in-the-know. I cant recommend Brauhaus enough! Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has plenty of good kid-friendly menu options and has a relaxed family-style atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and patient. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a number of tables that are great for wheelchair seating, including a couple that are tucked out of the way and are a bit more private.

Schnitzel is apparently their specialty. With a full menu page dedicated to schnitzels, they have many different style options, each with pork, chicken, or veal. Their hot (warm) German potato salad was also very good and nothing like American potato salad. Dont expect a fast meal, at least during the summer off-season. I would expect more waitstaff and faster service when Texas A&M is in session. Either way, I strongly recommend the food. And of course, dont forget the on-draft beer selection.

This is a little gem in the downtown area of Bryan. The atmosphere was very informal but also very nice. The service was excellent. I had the Hungarian Goulash, which was very tender and tasty. Others in my party of five had a selection of schnitzel, all very good. The flavors were very well blended, and the sides were very good complements to our meals. Thank goodness I was the only one who ordered dessert. The chocolate cake was delicious, very moist and flavorful, and was enough for all of us to share! I will definitely be going back!

Schnitzel is good quality, but keep in mind the portions diminish significantly after the first one on Monday. The second was less than half the size of the first. Spätzle was cooked properly, which may make it not to everyone s taste, but it is accurate. Fries were great, mashed potato was lumpy. I wish the cabbage was pickled properly, would be so good. The beer gravy, unfortunately, was so bad we couldn t eat the food. It made us feel sick, and the waitress kindly conceded she didn t like it either. Edit: having found out the deal is being replaced with a more expensive deal (half off second portion), I have to reduce my rating as this would not be worth it. Service was a little slow, particularly in terms of food coming out, sitting on the bar and going back to the kitchen several times, and there was a long wait for lemon/condiments. It may be prudent to think ahead ask for everything when you order so you re not waiting around.

Our journey to Bavarian Brauhaus in Bryan, TX was a culinary odyssey like no other. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were transported to the enchanting world of Bavarian cuisine and culture. The sausage sampler appetizer was a tantalizing prelude to the feast that awaited us, with each succulent bite a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds. For the main course, I indulged in the sublime pork JagerSchnitzel, a dish so exquisitely prepared that it felt like a gastronomic revelation. My wife, on the other hand, delighted in the delectable chicken Szegediner Schnitzel, savoring every morsel with pure culinary bliss. Each dish was a masterpiece, a true testament to the skill and passion of the chefs at Bavarian Brauhaus. But it wasnt just the food that left us in awe it was the entire experience. The ambiance was charming and authentic, the service impeccable and attentive. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to transport us to the heart of a Bavarian Oktoberfest, where good food, good company, and good times reign supreme. Bavarian Brauhaus is not just a restaurant its an experience, a journey for the senses that leaves a lasting impression. If youre looking for a dining adventure like no other, look no further than Bavarian Brauhaus in Bryan. Its a culinary gem that will leave you craving for more, a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the art of fine dining. Prost to Bavarian Brauhaus, a true culinary treasure in the heart of Texas!

Good food, loud and busy but we were there on a Saturday night so what could you expect?! Service was a bit slow, but I attribute this to the busy-ness and popularity of the place and over all not a turn off. I had the jagerschnitzel, which was top notch. Also loved the spatzle, if it had been kasespatzle would have been even better! Overall, highly recommend and this was the second time Ive been here on a 5-week business trip.

Stood there waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes, right when I was thinking I should just go somewhere else, a customer who was eating said I should just go sit down as there were plenty of open tables. Server walked past multiple times without acknowledging me or bringing me a menu so I pulled it up on my phone. Eventually she comes by and I ask for the chicken jagerschnitzel. The food actually came out quick, but was disappointed again when I realized she brought me pork. I dont normally like pork, but at this point I was so hungry I ate it anyways. Spaetzel was good though.

Here s one that everyone should read before stepping into the Bavarian Brauhaus, Bryan, TX. A small group of veterans went for our weekly get-together for an evening of food & drinks. These folks range from serving in WWII to more current conflicts. Food was ordered. Some was served but unfortunately mine was missed. It was then reordered. One of the members at the table asked if he could speak to a manager. The manager came over & asked what the issue was so I explained. She then told me that the ordered item was no longer served. The wait staff had an app for it & it was later served. The Manager proceeded to yell at me & called me an entitled A-hole as well as told me I don t contribute anything to the restaurant. She then stated I don t need to come back and that I brought nothing to the Restaurant. (Only $200-$400 a month). The whole table looked flabbergasted. Our weekly group as well as the monthly group of 25+ are looking to relocate. I m certain that the owners don t realize who they have employed as a manager. Be very careful if you decide to patronize this establishment.

Ate here for the first time taking my dad out for his birthday. Our group of 5 had a great time. Atmosphere gets an A+ for injecting some of the spirit of Bavarian beer halls and restaurants via the ceiling wood, booth/bench seating, and decorations. Staff was A+ friendly across the board. Felt very welcome and had excellent service. On the food side, they are close to getting it right. Several of us had schnitzel in various forms. It tasted good, but in all cases was a little over-cooked and could use a bit of seasoning. Salad was very good. My mom had the goulash, which was served in a different form than weve ever seen, with all parts separate on a plate, but she liked it very much. We lived in Germany and Austria for several of my dads Air Force assignments, as well as my own, and weve eaten a lot of German/Austrian food. This is one of the closer attempts at getting it right. Our understanding is the owner is actually German. If he reads these reviews, recommend he get with his staff on the food seasoning and schnitzel cooking times, but otherwise this is a great place and a good alternative to other choices in Bryan-College Station. It also has the bonus of being connected to the Irish pub next door, also with the right feel. Very nice to see these locations getting the business they deserve and helping with the revitalization of downtown Bryan!

The highlight was when the band assembled an Alphorn and played a beautiful solo piece to a completely silent and entranced audience. I cant wait to go back!

We waited over two hours for food and ended up leaving with nothing. I understand the restaurant was very short staffed but the workers they had were so extremely rude. I ve been once before for a private party and they were so nice and had good food. Sounds like I m not the only that had this experience lately though. Hopefully they will be under new management soon, and the service will turn around.

Im not sure if the staff or food has changed (the pictures from before look different) the mashed potatoes were very dry and I think they were understaffed, it took about an hour to get food out to our table Edit: been feeling very nauseous during the next night, I think I may have gotten food poisoning from here. Dishes I had: side of mashed potatoes, seasoned potatoes, mixed greens, sauerkraut

I had the Bavarian sampler and the Fleischpflanzerl, both had very dry mashed potatoes. Restaurant was full and the staff were working hard, but definitely understaffed and there were people waiting at a table when we arrived who said they had waited two hours for their food. We waited approximately one hour for our food to arrive, so definitely not timely. I am surprised as this establishment has received higher ratings in the past. Overall a great atmosphere and good beer/wine, but slow service and food was so-so.

Went with the family and passed around a little bit of everything. We loved the food and atmosphere. Schnitzels, beer, and sides tasted great and it feels just like a German pub. Definitely coming back to try more!!

3/25/22. Christina is absolutely wonderful!! She worked her butt off the entire time we were here and did a fantastic job taking care of us!!! We came here several years ago - pre covid- on a whim and loved it so much, we took a detour on our to Galveston just to have dinner! Thursday nights are Bier and Schintzel night. They have multiple versions of schnitzel- chicken, pork, and veal and can be plain or have several different flavored gravies. We both had veal - very tender and perfectly cooked. Side options are spatzel, potatoes, coleslaw and fries. For dessert, they have 3 different versions of crepes, a donut bread pudding and a fantastic death by chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Definitely the place for amazing German cuisine!! We will be back again!!! OMG!!! Awesome place with AMAZING food!! I had the Weinersnchitzel(veal), spaetzle, cabbage and shredded carrots. My husband got the Jagerschnitzel with the same sides. We finished our plates and then ordered dessert - Double chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate drizzle and cinnamon sugar crepes with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar sauce. Expect to wait for a seat, esp on the weekend. They have 2 large dining areas and we lucky to find a corner table for the 2 of us. Located in downtown Bryan, Tx so go early and enjoy walking around and shopping. Definately eill be returning when we are in town again!!!

Bavarian pretzels are not worth it. Way better pretzels other places. But their schnitzels are delicious! The pasta side had more of a mild flavor which complimented the meat which had a bolder flavor, and their coleslaw was great (and Im usually not a fan of coleslaw). I would go back for the schnitzels!

The Bavarian Brauhaus is one of our favorite places to eat whenever we are in town. The food is always hot and tasty. The staff is always friendly and ready to get you whatever you need. I can hardly wait until we are back in town and eat here again.

My friends enjoyed the Schnitzel Heaven and Hell and the Barvarian Sampler, both very good. I enjoyed the Pilsner Urquell beer with my meal. I ll be sure and come again to enjoy the great atmosphere here And the great service provided by our waiter.

Recently for the first time, I ordered dinner to take out for two people, at the counter of this restaurant, including desserts. I paid for what they charged me, and forgot to take the receipt they gave me. Got home and we realized the 2 weinerschnitzels were really unseasoned. Being a german restaurant I was hoping their food would be something close to what we have eaten in Germany/Austria. Besides, the bread pudding was in our opinion something made up at last minute: Pieces of rolls cut in pieces, smashed and glazed. ??? But, what really is not professional or ethical is the fact that I left my receipt on their counter, and later discovered a $7 add-on to my credit card charge . . . w/out my authorization. Definitely a big nono! Sure, we wont ever come back here!!!!

LOVED THIS PLACE! We were having a night on the town since there were Christmas lights up and downtown was decorated! We decided to give this place a try and it was definitely a great choice! The atmosphere of this place is astounding and the woodworking on the interior is even more elegant! The whole table ordered Hungarian Goulash and we were beyond impressed! The roast beef was cooked perfectly and laid over the right amount of homemade mashed potatoes and served with buttered vegetables! Definitely would recommend coming to this neat place! SECOND TIME GOING AND SAME TAKE AWAYS! Tried something different this time because it was Schnitzel Thursday! I got the Munich schnitzel and it was amazing! It was served with a potato salad and it was also amazing! Still recommend giving this place a visit!

Excellent German food here. I had bratwurst, sour kraut, potato salad, and spaztle. The schnitzel was great also. Great beer and full bar next door if you need a cocktail. The service was just fine we had no issues and the food came out fast. We were there on a Monday night and it was fairly busy but still no issues whatsoever.

Not the same experience that we had when we tried this restaurant 3 years ago. We ordered several different items, nothing was good. I would say overall most items were not hot, bland, or over salted. Very disappointed.

They do not pay their waitstaff enough, because apparently the waitstaff feels comfortable confronting customers in public about tips. Food was good, service was lacking. Was told by previous server to not come back until you can leave a better than 15% tip. I will not go back, and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

We have just gotten the worse service we ve had. We waited over an hour for our food to come out only to find out that my order was never put in. Thirty minutes later my food came out. This never should have happened. Updated the stars to 4 for willing to make it right after the meal and the food is delicious. This hopefully was just a one time bad experience.
