View of spacex and the waves are nice but 4 wheel drive highly recommended if you want to park on the sand. We helped push a car that got stuck in the sand. Its nice overall just a small beach though

We loved coming to this beach. It is beautiful. We were able to park our 18-wheeler out there for the night and swim in the water. It was so nice.

Good place to be with the family, you can do many activities, dont forget to bring your garbage bag since there is no cleaning staff so we all have to do our part and leave a clean beach for the use of other people. FINALLY, BE VERY CAREFUL AT THE ENTRANCE AS THE SAND GETS VERY LOOSE AND CAN TRAP YOU. The water at the end of the beach between U.S and Mexico is gorgeous but the beach for a State Park is very disappointing. The beach has streaks of oil, all kinds of trash up and down the beach and you are allowed to drive your vehicles any where on the beach. For a State Park you would think there would be a port-a-potty at the entrance of the park and trash cans along the beach. My heart was saddened for the birds because of all the pollution surrounding them. If we want to clean up the environment maybe the state of Texas needs to start right in there own back yard.

Clean beach with easy driving access. Don t go far on the dry fluffy sand without AWD or 4x4. Fun view of spaceX. Yes there is a lot of work going on along the road, but once through, it is calm.

Make sure you go to the right boca chica beach, google maps took me to boca chica state park by boca chica and lbj blvd and its not it. Its a deserted beach, very dry, no waves or people. Literally no one around. and ended up getting stuck, even though i have a 4x4. Paid 345 dlls to be towed out. But took them an hour, they showed up on a ram dully to get me out and also got stuck, waited another 2 hours for one of his actual tow trucks to actually pull him out, then me. Beach sucked,It was hot, kids got fuzzy and crying and was down 345 dlls !. Tow guy told us actual boca chica beach was a few more miles ahead and is nice. Make sure you get the right beach on google

Great place for fishing or a bbq. Bring your friends and family. Free admission. No facilities. Miles of beach and dunes. Good fishing and access to the Boca Chica jetties. Four wheel drive recommended. Trucks get stuck in the sand here all the time.

The place is amazing. In addition to the fact that it has incredible fauna, it is something wonderful since we can find great flora and fauna in the place. The only thing that bothers me a little is that there are arrogant people who leave garbage in the place, affecting the ecosystem. I found a seagull that had died because it had ingested that plastic thing in beers.

Awesome beach! I am alone when I visit here normally but I do drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you leave 4 and turn right you can drive to where the Rio Grand meets the Gulf after about a 3 mile drive down the beach. If you turn left there are more people there and eventually hit the jetties from the Port of Brownsville. I have collected so many sea beans, sea hearts and hamburgers here. This is a great place to train your dogs off the leash as you are unlikely to encounter anyone.

Gorgeous beach and dunes, sadly however, lots of garbage strewn around. Very disheartening to see such a beautiful locale looking like this. Some of it likely washed up but a local we met said it was from all the partying. There are large 50 gallon garbage drums along the beach every 100 meters approximately. No other facilities whatsoever. We were the only campers around. The tide was in, and higher then usual due to the pending full moon in a few days. Extremely muggy for us, coming from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Lots of mosquitoes showed up in the supper hour. Great fun driving on the beach. No dune buggies allowed in this state park. Free to camp. The local we spoke with said it was not safe to camp on the west part of the beach, towards Rio Grande River. Border Patrol around keeping an eye out, making us feel safer.

This is the closest beach to Brownsville, Texas. You can drive on the beach south to point where Rio Grande river enters the Gulf of Mexico--4 wheel drive needed. A fair number of shorebirds are typically present.

I love Boca Chica Beach! Avoid the crowds at SPI and just enjoy the beach here! Its cool knowing that the mouth of the Rio Grande is only 17 miles away from this beach access. The only drawback? The border patrol checkpoint on the way back. Sometimes the traffic backs up. But, its no big deal.

This is a neat place to visit! Theres not much to do other than fish and bird watch. If one wants to participate in water sports, you need to bring a vehicle that can work well with the sand. My cell phone signal was poor, so I highly recommend you come prepared. If you get stuck in the sand, you will be quite helpless without a cell signal. You can always stick to the road, but, then you really have no point in driving all the way out here if you are going to limit yourself to views from the road.
