Enjoyed our meals. Server was very attentive. Mariachis were nice which we didnt ask for. Didnt have cash on us plus did not know we were supposed to pay or tip as we were very embarrassed when a gentleman put his tip jar in front of us and we left only 5$. Always come here when in Brownsville.

Hadnt been here for over 2 years. I really liked that they have ice cold beer, food was ready fast and hot. I would definitely recommend they carry Cholula hot sauce,it goes perfectly with the oysters. Waitress was very attentive. Excellent service

The food is pretty good, and the portions are large. The food has a Cajun twist and has lots of flavor. The staff was friendly but needed to stop by the table a little bit more. The restraunt is a bit dark and could be more inviting. Overall, it is a good place for Cajun style seafood.

Alright so I had not been here for over a year, and the last time I had gone I was not impressed. Last night was totally different, and for the better. We ordered the fried calamari, and fried fish botana for two with fish, shrimp, and oysters. You could immediately tell how fresh the seafood was from the first bite. The fried fish was spectacular, flaky and soft in the inside, and light and crispy on the outside. The flavor was so good, and I was surprised. I dont know if there was a change in management, but if you havent been there lately you should give it another try. I hope this is not a one off so Ill be going back very soon.

Just wow! After hearing so many good things about this place, I decided to venture out and try it while at the island and I was pleasantly surprised! My husband and I got the fried shrimp, fish and oysters and they were perfectly crisp, piping hot, and overall delicious! The fries were deliciously seasoned too. Our drinks were constantly being refilled and we opted to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the fresh gulf breeze and ambience. They even sell the breading/batter in bags to take home and I honestly considered buying some for home, thats how good it was. Completely understand the hype behind this place. Amazing service, delicious food!

Going to be honest, the whole place stinks. Badly. Like mold and rotten fish. But its probably that gross ice display right in front of the doors. The carpet is absolutely rancid as well. The place needs an overhaul. But, the food is great. The fish and shrimp botana is always fresh. This is literally the only place I will eat fish. I hate fish generally. The service is usually awesome as well.

I was disappointed. Oysters on the half shell were bland and tasteless. I had the Fried Shrimp & Oyster combo dinner. The fried Oysters tasted good but were much smaller than the fresh Gulf Oysters were. The Shrimp were very small as well. I also had to choose either fries or coleslaw as the dinner included only 1 side. Most seafood restaurants provided fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppys. That would have been nice. Server did a great job but didnt get his name.

That restaurant needs to upgrade all their light bulbs to L.E.D. Daylight light bulbs because it was a bit to dark with those cheap beige shade bulbs they presently have plus the entire restaurant needs a complete fresh paint in white so it can give it a more modern look so customers can see what they are eating and able to see what they have in their walls

Seafood botana is Excellent! Highly recommend, we had it with fish and shrimp. Botana food was Excellent! But not the drinks, we had tea, and soft drinks and they are over priced! Almost $20 in 5 soft drinks is ridiculous. Our party was more than 6 so we got stuck with the mandatory gratuity but great service should also be mandatory! Not worth the money they made us pay! If you know you are getting a big tip then provide the service of the tip coming. We had to keep asking for refills or sauces. We were not told it would be mandatory as required by law.

We frequently get the chicken strip Botana which is delicious. Getting a big box of their awesome fries and 10 chicken strips at a reasonable price is a great way to treat the kids Only drawback is they skimp out on the ranch unless you remind them, and even then you might need to ask twice. The few ranch they give is not enough to cover the Botana. Otherwise they are quick, dependable and make great food.

Very disappointed with the food. I ordered New Orleans Shrimp with a bowl of Lobster Bisque as an appetizer. I ordered a fish plate to share with my wife. Well, I got all of them at the same time. The bisque was lukewarm at best. Someone got crazy with the salt on the fries and fish. Very salty along with the shrimp. Spent around $65 and didnt even eat the food. We went to Panda Express next door because we were hungry. The shrimp size with a price tag of $11.99 was way too small. They have lost a long-time customer and will never come again. Food and customer experience was great! Waitress was really friendly and always willing to give the best experience to us as customers. Negative thing? The lightning is quite bad, we got a table for 5 but 3 out of 5 people at the table threw comments about the poor lighting in the dining area. Bar area was a little bit better but still was dark for a restaurant.. everything else was great, the Botana for 4 turned out to be actually for 5 or maybe 6 people Oysters were also very tasty and fries were also really good. Would come back again for sure.

I would give a negative star if I could. Had the most horrible experience with management on my mothers bday. I love coming to dirty Al s and believe me when I say it come here alot. Never had any issues till I decided to come with a bigger party. Granted only four people eat one which was a teen and the rest were under two. Mandatory 20% tip when the service was not all that great. We had for an extra side of Mayo and were brought four or five ask for a side of buffalo was brought several. Didn t think much of it till we received our bill. My wife the person who wanted the extra side of Mayo one side. But was charge 5 sides of Mayo. Also asked for buffalo was charged for four. Ask for limes since there was maybe three in a botana for four people tray. Guess what charged extra for that. Never in all the times I ve gone there have I been charged for Mayo or buffalo or extra anything. And again was never told it would be extra. Well come the bill there was over 10 dollars in extra condiment charges we didn t ask for and wheee all left on the table. If that wasn t enough ask to speak to a manager (gaby). Never met someone so rude that left me talk and her talking under Meath her breath as she left. Walking out with my family she was still talking about us to her bar tender and staring us down. We paid 150 for the meal you would think they treat you with respect. I will be calling corp as well as I had to get the number for joe Rivas from the island location because when I asked for it. Gaby kept repeating herself like a broken record to contact the GM mr hernandez and she would not be given us the number to corp she said. Over all she has no reason to be in the restaurant business. I truly hope they get rid of her. I feel like I was robbed at a restaurant I know a little extreme but truly how it felt as she force us to pay and only took the tip off 21 dollars as I had already given the waiter the 20 for sub par service to say the least. Horrible place to go if this what they do to their patrons
