I grew up going to this park. As a BISD student, a yearly field trip to the zoo and then to dean Porter Park was always a fun experience. After growing up becoming part of the workforce I go to be a part of the big renovation back in the late 90s. Its really neat to see how this park has grown and been taken care of throughout the years. The one big outstanding question is- what was that large piano shaped shiney metal thing that we used to climb up as kids? The sun always bounced off of it and blinded us! But we kept climbing on it and sliding down.

Well, I came to the Holiday Village, you know the same every yr. You all must evolve. Make more of a layout you have so much land that you can put them in a different way direction. Idk think of something. I see a bit more vendors they too need more space and light. Well, here it goes some pics of the village mini houses. You can compare them to the following yrs to come, which wont change. Idk how many I will let me post, but Ill pick it randomly.

I love this park so much its beautiful, ducks everywhere. Multiple kids playgrounds, benches, pits to bbq. Although I didnt know that only on Fridays and Saturdays they close at 11. My bf and I got threatened to get the cops called on us by a security in a car yesterday for throwing a bbq. We asked if we could have a few minutes to finish cooking the meet but he was rude and told us leave now unless we wanted the cops called on us. Playground: About 3 playgrounds. Toilets: Multiple bathrooms always clean with soap and toilet paper. Picnic area: Awesome place with benches and bbq pits. Theres also a beautiful lake if you want to lay a blanket down and eat there

Definitely one of the largest parks that I know of in Brownsville. Has plenty to do, and a great place to bring your family. They have plenty of canopies and tables/benches to sit at. A decent sized water playground (with water misters and sprayers) for small children to play, and cool off. Also has a public swimming pool during the warmer parts of the year. Plenty a space for jogging, barbecuing (multiple bbq pits throughout the park for public use). Also there are several public restrooms throughout the park in case Nature Calls, and even holds special events occasionally throughout the year such as The Christmas Village that are fun for the whole family. If you love outdoors, and enjoy outside leisurely activities, then you should definitely visit this park sometime.
