If you remember the pre-launchpad version of BocaChica Beach, you will probably be disappointed by blast zone dust, traffic, and other minor annoyances. However, the basic amenities are the same: the freedom to go straight from your vehicle to the ocean, free camping, lots of jellyfish, packs of coyotes at night, and friendly beach-goers with beer.

Its not the best beach in the area, but you can drive on it. The main attraction is, of course, the SpaceX launch pad. We were there the day before they closed off the road and the Starship was fully stacked and so close it felt illegal.

Blissful beach day. Barely another person on the beach save a few fisherman casting into the surf. Water cool enough to refresh but not take your breath away. Watched pelicans and gulls driving for dinner and sandpipers scuttle about the shore. AMAZING Dog-friendliness: We took a 5 mile walk and only saw 10 people

Cool to go to the end of Texas. You can walk down a bit and go to Mexico. Don t recommend. But it s not busy, fun place to chill. There is always a border patrol car on the beach if you don t mind that.

Remote! Best kept secret in Texas. Deserted beach with no hotels but a few old houses near the north end. There used to be a store about 5 miles back toward Brownsville but it was closed the last time we went past. If you need anything be prepared to drive back to Brownsville. We have seen a few fishermen but usually theres nobody there. Its quite a ways to the Rio Grande which is the border to Mexico. It seems like a step back into history when you come here, like maybe you would see an old-time pirate ship anchored off shore! 2023 update; all the construction of Space X mostly eliminated the deserted feel to this place. The road is sometimes closed going on back to the ocean.

There are no people, the sea water is cool and clean, and the sand is very fine. There is a SpaceX launch pad at the entrance, so its great for taking commemorative photos.

Boca Chica Beach is always great, however, the eyesore cluster of SPACE-X debree in the middle of it all can be a little overbearing .. New Roads Need To Be Implemented So Entities May Route A Different Way From The Main Road To The Beach Without Passing Through SPACE-X Compounds. Other than this, still a great park to go fishing with friends, family and loved ones.

So disappointed with my Raza. We had to pickup four bags of trash after the family next us left all their trash on the beach after their overnight stay. They were 50 feet from a trash can. We can do better valley. Lets keep it clean.

This is simply beautiful beach. There are not bathrooms or restaurants near here. You have to pass through border patrol on the way back to town. Needs a good cleaning. Its a drive on and park beach.

An Excited experience in; Hiking, Camping, Fishing. 6am -6pm 12hr adventure. No parking spot park anywhere but could get vandalize be becareful. There are no structures facility buildings none. Camping set up was simple used none commercial gear but need one compass. Also camp built in toilet (take small shovel). Hardly any wood and stones so bring your own. Hiking was amazing. Environment sight was awesome beautiful from; sand dunes idk 20 30 feet high hills, animals tracks from deer, coyote or dog or bobcat and crab trails but no snake sighted therere around. Plants from different kinds. Butterflies looked like 3-5 inches long. Becareful where you step muddy places when your behind the sand dunes. No tall trees just tree sherbs. Theres history here a supplied fort more info (Palo Alto battlefield)in the 1846 everthing made of wood, but it is buried in sand dunes. Much more to see. Not forgetting the Boca chica beach. Great for fishing. Lots of passing vechiles depending weather, people friendly to unfriendly. This is a place your on your own state park. Theres a lot of danger be on guard always. Ive tried it and loved it. Group of 4 people. Enjoyed it and coming back for over night stay. But be warned there is a story told that scares me but Im willing to camp it out.
