The service was great! The cashier was very helpful and polite. The food was fresh, but we expected larger portions. We were told there would be guacamole on our tacos, we got home to eat and there was no guacamole. The atmosphere was not to my standards, so we left once the food arrived.

I always travel to Brownnsville for work and this is one of those times that I always like going here because its so close to the hotel.The prices are cheap and I really feel like I get a lot of food for what I pay for. The cooking is very unique, and have a style of putting their food together that I feel as more authentic then the usual tex mex flair.

We got 2 orders tacos de bistec and 1 order of tripa. The tacos were ok, not enough avocado. One order of tripa is $12 but very little tripa in each taco. The bistec order is $8.

Called in order and female on the phone wanted payment but I told her I will pay when I go pick up my order. When I arrived at restaurant they charged me for my order and then they gave the ticket to the kitchen so they can start making it. I asked why my order wasn t ready and she stated that it needs to be paid first before they start make it. I asked her, then what s the point of calling it ahead then and she said that the rule they have. Very inconvenient for mediocre food. Beans were cold and seemed old. Never going back.

I dont recommend the tripe tacos. I ordered them golden, the tripe was not burnt and the prepared beans tasted burnt and apart from that the food was not hot, it was cold, I really dont recommend it.

Visited Taqueria el Taco Loco on 3995 old hwy 77 last night and found a fly inside the torta. There were also a lot of flies inside the restaurant. No owner or manager present. All we got was an apology and the torta being deducted but still payed over $50 after being grossed out.This place needs to get inspected and cleaned up. I will be making a report with health department. Dont eat here unless you like eating moscas.

I was the only guest. I was greeted by the cashier polietly and seated promptly after ordering at the counter. The restaurant was clean. The food was excellent. Food came quickly. The Charro bean soup was delicious. Tacos de carne were great. I left 3 stars on atmosphere because there was none. No music, no decorations, just tables and chairs.

Came to this place after a while of not going but disgustingly found a fly in my torta. Not only was there a dead fly in my food, but also a lot of flies flying around me annoyingly while I tried to enjoy my meal. I talked the person in charge but they only offered to cover the cost of the torta and not the other food I ordered. I can t believe they didn t offer to cover the other food cost since it was the same meat where the fly was. Do not come to this place unless you enjoy the taste of toasted shiny flies in your food. I got 1 barbacoa taco, 1 trompo gringa and a trompo papa asada. The papa asada was 3x s the size I was expecting and the flavor was 100x s what I was expecting. The food was so delicious and the salsas were actually spicy! I was able to finish my taco and gringa but I didn t even eat half of my papa asada because I was full by then.

If you don t mind waiting over two hours for your food then this is the place for you. It s unfortunate because the food is good. However waiting over 2 hours for a couple tacos is insane and the reason I will not be returning to this establishment. A lot of 5 star AND 1 star reviews? Truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Menu is in Spanish only, no English. There was something floating in my water (looked like a piece of cilantro). Mexican sandwich was decent. Some of the meat was a little fatty. This is not TexMex, folks. No tortilla chips, no rice. If you re looking for the authentic Mexican food experience, you ll probably like it.

i loveddd going to this place , until i had an order to go for 2 potato s and was in a rush to work . Didn t think much of the price or packaging payed and left but before leaving i did ask these are potatos correct she says yes. I left open the package it was 2 tortas i called and she didn t even know how to handle the situation and only agreed after i asked for credit meal . Next day i call for the credit meal ,manager answers and says it is my fault in other words for not using common sense on prize and packaging . Horrible service .

These tacos were super delicious! And so is their lemonade. I love their burrito! The staff was respectful. Staff is bilingual. They charge a dollar for to go plates! This place is a great date idea! Very well priced. One of the good hidden taco gems of brownsville :) definitely has a mom and pop feel to it and I definitely will be returning

Today my tacos were not as tasty as usual, but I ate em anyway. Bistek looks pale, like the meat was boiled. I ordered them all the way but didnt get avocado on all of them. The grilled onions looked old and dry. Beans were undercooked and watery. I dont know what happened. So disappointing.

When you fine a cockroach in your food only to have to ask them to take it back and find that there is a different cockroach in your new food says something. What s worse is that it s the owners policy We still have to charge your for that roach . I m not even joking. Table didn t make a big fuss, but one of the cooks walks out and gives us a dirty look only for him to walk pass by us, take off his mask and throw it inside the room that says private. Now for a little bit about the food. The quality of this place has gone down hill. Food taste bad compared pre-COVID. The prices have doubled. Use to take friends here to eat. Cost me 12.50 for 2. Including 2 Mexican cokes. Now it s 24.95 for the same order. So if you want bad looks. German cockroaches, or pay more this is the place to go.

The tacos are very small for the price, $1.25!!! They dont know the difference between trompo and al pastor! Also, from what I saw there is almost never one, the poor boy who picks up the trash from the floor doesnt have a dustpan that you dont have to bend over to pick up the trash. The poor guy spent his time bent over picking up trash...those dustpans cost $1.00 per God !! Cant you buy one???

The inside dining area is tiny and it is loud at times but it is a quaint restaurant and well worth waiting to get a table. They also have takeout available. The food is tastes great! The price for the food is a bargain. The charro beans are some of the best I have eaten. The tacos are tiny but pack a big flavor explosion and the price is tiny too. The meats are all well seasoned and tender. They are open until 1 a.m. on the weekdays and open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
