EDIT: Long story short. I am splitting custody time just 50/50 and paying $1500/month in child support. AND I NEGOTIATED THE TIME SPLIT!! NOT HIM!! Ask him for referrals... see if these OTHER reviewers are willing to talk to you... DOUBT IT! I doubt any of them are real. Contact me and i will let you see what the situation was before he was hired and how everything ended up AFTER he was hired. I would NEVER use this lawyer ever ever again! My life is almost ruined just because he didnt want to do ANYTHING but collect my money and travel with HIS family! I had to argue with him and the other lawyer about seeing my son, the child support and medical expenses... Of course that is not how he was BEFORE he got my money and went to court!! After everything was done and the quality of life for my kids and I was ruined, her attorney added crazy things that were never spoke of in court. I told and showed Efthimiou and he said I am out of the country but the court did not order these changes(referring to what i said needed to be changed in the final order) its only what was ordered today. I told him that the things i spoke of were not spoke of in court. After a week I reached out to let him in order to let him know that I hadnt received a revised copy. He actually responded Who is this? WHO IS THIS?!!! really? after months of me giving documents and screenshots. 6 days goes by and you dont know who i am!! Oh yeah! theres no more money to be gotten. I will need to go BACK to court so I can attempt to level out the way the custody and payments have been given out.

Steve has guided us through this difficult journey with professionalism and proficiency. He goes above and beyond the realm of his duties. Thank you Steve for all you do ! Edited: Fast forward 3 yrs later. Called this attorney to revisit a modification case back in November. Our court date was scheduled for August 2023. Asked him for his retainer fee. He told us an amount and we accepted. He stated that we would review the case before we went to court. He was very hard to get a hold of before court. Never replied with texts or a phone call in a timely manner. The day of court , we had questions about the case. Apparently, he had already negotiated with the other side before speaking to us. And when asking him a question, in mid sentence he just walked away saying I have another case downstairs, I ll be back in an hour. What exactly did we pay you for? What exactly did you do that a court appointed attorney would not had this been a criminal case? There was horrible communication with you. You spent a total of 3 minutes talking to us before court, a few months minimal worded responses to our texts in between November and august, and maybe one returned phone call. you walked away from us mid-sentence at least twice the morning of court. You said you kept him out of jail, but we weren t there for contempt of court. We were there for modification. He was never in danger of going to jail. You are disorganized and it showed in your appearance. You literally looked liked you rolled out of bed in the clothes you wore the night before, and your hair could have used a comb through. It is evident that your attorney skills are as disorganized as your appearance. The only reason we left you a good review three years ago was because you asked us to in exchange for a $500 discount. Of course we were going to say something nice. We were paying you for your time. Time that you refused to give us for the amount we retained you. When I asked you for an accountability statement to see where that money went, your response was that you weren t going to give me anything?! That retainer was not for you to keep or spend! We both know that is illegal for you to do! You seemed to be more accommodating last time, and now I know why. Don t hire this guy if you want someone who cares about your case. He won t give you the time of day.

Horrible experience. Explained my case to him and he made me believe I had a chance at court against my ex just to make money. During my mediation my ex was offering a deal that I rejected because he kept saying you don t have to accept the deal mr. Melendez. Then after court he said its gonna be 5 k to continue your case. I tried to come up with the money and offered him payments, then he said no its ok you don t have a chance anyways. I can recommend another attorney. Lovely justice system we live with in texas.

I am a military veteran on disability and SS and when I went in for my first appointment I explained to him that I was on SS and had bought a small Travel Trailer to live in down here in the Valley. That I had been married to a Mexican National that I had not seen in 14 years I am so disgusted with this lawyer ! He was a complete failure! He showed up to court and came up to me before we went in and said, This is a mean judge be careful of what you say. He then left before we entered the courtroom telling me to TEXT him when the judge came in. WI went in and waited for him but when he came in he sat on the opposite side of the court room with a blank look on his face for the approximately 30 minutes we waited for the judge. I sat there and watched every other lawyer come in and sit and counsel their clients like I would have expected this lawyer to do but he did NOT. He sat on the other side never speaking to me. We went in front of the judge and because I own a travel Trailer (I told him my whole story when we first met) The judge turned me down because I own the trailer and he claimed I never told him (when did you ever go to a lawyer and not tell them your story?) Then told me he quit and I would have to re-file after he GUARANTEED me that my divorce would be no problem. SO DONT BELIEVE HIS GUARANTEES!
