I recommend this place. The waiter service is really good. The burgers!! Oh my gosh, they were super delicious. I like the atmosphere, and the bathrooms are always super clean.

The waiter was kind but the experience as a whole was TERRIBLE. Many of the items were NOT available because according to the waiter they had large crowds throughout the week and they did not have enough. Even the limes were hard and tasted old. The fish tacos I ordered were pathetic, I had to return them... I wasnt going to pay for fish sticks on a tortilla. Furthermore, according to the waiter all the prices on the menu were $1 more which were not displayed on the written menu, smh. Horrible experience.

This place used to be good but Ill give it another chance in the future. Kitchen was out of stock on certain food items and took long on one of my friends plate. The Mexican rice was hard on my plate, semi edible. The mood seemed kind of glum and dreary. The drinks were good and the service was as well. Also the prices on the menu doesnt match what is charged. I believe its off by $1 for each item listed (or at least from what my table ordered). Make sure to review your tab before closing it.

They did an excellent job. Its been a while since my last visit. The burgers, shrimp plate, and beer, along with great friends, made for a terrific time. We came here in memory of my cousin, Ram. We will definitely return.

Went to have a bucket of domestic beer ordered michelob ultra we had two buckets bartender over charged us! We questioned the bartender we said we ordered michelob ultra ( which is a domestic beer) he said oh no Michelob ultra is an imported beer!! We were like What!!! It s Domestic Beer!! He said no it s imported so He charged us for imported beer ( which it s more expensive) we paid and left!! Never again! We were trying to help small businesses but never again at palm lounge! Thanks

Always look at your bill before you handout your form of payment!!! Over the weekend I visited Palm Lounge , It s not my 1st time there. I ordered a Michelada, a 2nd beer and a Ceviche tostada. The bartender was friendly and quick to bring us the beverages, the tostada took a bit we had to remind him about it. We asked for our check and we noticed the prices were different that advertised on the menu, it wasn t much but when we brought it to the attention of the bartender his response was we did recently changed our prices, but management hasn t updated the menus He also mentioned he couldn t adjust it. All I m trying to say is just be aware of what you are getting charged. I won t visit anymore.

Popular establishment with live music on weekends. Known hn town for their tasty, greasy bugers. Vegetarian options: Forget it. Parking: During business hours a new Flowbird parking system is in force. Another drawback which is keeping people away from a struggling downtown.

We found this place while on a bike ride and stopped off for a beverage. Upon entering, the music was very loud. However, when we asked to have it turned down, they did so promptly. Thats why only 4 stars. But the food was fabulous, and the wait staff were superb. They truly took care of our every need. We will definitely go back AND bring more of our friends! The stuffed jalapeños were fabulous! Thats what I want to go back for. The shrimp tacos were extra good, too.

Ordered a Swiss mushroom burger to go for lunch. Was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Got in there in 10 and waited another 15. Paid 16.44 for the burger. Mushrooms were salty. Fries were even worse. Couldnt finish the meal due to the salt content.

Everything was perfect its the parking for disabled people with wheelchairs thats a bit challenging to get in the door is heavy for a person to try to open while in a wheelchair by themselves, & to be moving chairs around to fit a person in a wheelchair to. Wheelchair accessibility: Need better parking spaces to be able to excess the building better. Doors are heavy to open. Need a push button to automatically open the door

The place was so dark and dull...with a very depressing feel to it. My husband and I still wanted to give it a chance. We ordered a couple of beers. They were fairly cold. We ordered the ceviche, that was good. Then, we were delivered our entrees, a mushroom burger and the Hawaiian hotdog. The burger was the MOST horrible thing we have tasted. The meat tasted frozen and with no other taste to it then the freezer burn. The fries that accompanied the burger were tasteless. The hotdog was bland. This is one of the establishments that has the WORST food we have ever tasted.

Excellent restaurant. I had never been to the Palm Lounge. The Palm Lounge was a little bar with inexpensive beer mostly. This bar had been around in downtown Brownsville forever. I was apprehensive about visiting but was pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend. As you walk in the lightning in low. The restaurant uses dark colors and is quite old fashioned. For a moment The Palm Lounge makes you forget about everything going on outside. It transforms day into your time. The food is exceptional. I honestly highly recommend.

The vibe was nice!!! I only tried the Palm Lounge appetizer and everything on it was good. I would give a 5 star, but I didn t order from the burgers or dinner menu. I will come back. The parking in downtown Brownsville is horrible and that s not their fault. We showed up early afternoon and there was one other table. The place has been completely reinvented from the dive bar it used to be. I ordered shrimp tacos and my husband a shrimp plate. My tacos were good. The shrimp was breaded with a mix of corn meal and flour. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked, not chewy or overdone. The tortillas for the taco weren t as warm as they should have been, and the rice was not to my hubs liking. The green tea was refreshing. The service was not very good considering we were one of 2 tables. I had to go the bar and ask for refills and they forgot our water. I gave them 4 stars because the shrimp were very good. I m a shrimper s daughter and I know those were gulf shrimp done right. We will be back and try one of their hotdogs which I hear are amazing. To be continued

We were disappointed with service and food. Being charged for extra jalapeños and extra onion/cilantro/tomato relish was ridiculous, especially for the miniscule amount! The margaritas looked great but were watered down. We had to ask for utensils several times. And to top it all, the place was not crowded, so mo excuses. This was our first time there.

The Palm Lounge is a historic downtown restaurant and bar. They are known for their delicious burgers, my favorite is the jalapeno burger. I also very much enjoy their jalapeno poppers, which are stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon then served on a corn tortilla like a taco with grilled onions on the side, amazing. The micheladas are good too! Update: Had the Seattle-Style Dog today, it was great. I also tried the ceviche tostada, yummy

I was told that they had the best burgers in town. So here I go hoping to get a.really great burger. Well, the meat was tough, I asked for mustard and NADA, the cheese did a disappearing act and the veggies.....one little leaf of lettuce, a slice if tomato the size of a silver dollar, one onion ring and two dill pickles. It was pitiful to say the least. Oh and the fries were cold but looked like maybe they had sat under a hot light or in a warmer all day. The best part of the meal was the Chile toreado that came with the meal. We spent.47$.on four burger combos plus a 20%+ tip. The food was awful and we wont be back. I do not recommend the Palm Lounge.

I was invited to have brunch at The Historic Palm Lounge today and it was a treat! Their brunch menu is the perfect balance between savory and sweet, offering dishes such as huevos ahogados, garnachas, crepes, and waffles. Everything I tried was delicious! They start you off with some scrumptious pastries from local vendors and offer mimosas in three flavors. The ambiance is relaxing and their service impeccable. If you haven t tried their brunch, you are missing out. I can t wait to go back!!

The food is OK, the service it s very good and the environment very pleasant. The cocktails are generous. A place I like to go to when I am in Brownsville.
