This is a really cute park, although the park side of it, meaning equipment, is not very large. The reason I wanted to go here was to see the blue bonnets, and although I do not see very many, there were more over here than I saw anywhere else. There was a couple having wedding photos, and there was an elderly man taking pictures, and I just really liked how serene it was. Even the surrounding areas are just open fields and its very beautiful. Im happy this place is not too long of a drive from Houston to escape the city.

Quiet little place on top of a hill filled with bluebonnets. Great place for a picnic and pictures with the family. Thankfully the location has clean bathrooms, as well as picnic tables and swings for the kiddos. We visited during Spring Break in March and there were about 6 families there but there was plenty of room for everyone.

Went in mid March to check the wildflower situation. There were a lot of Bluebonnets between the 4 remaining stone columns in the park and the old log cabin and other ruins. This is one of the smallest state parks in Texas. There is no charge to enter, several picnic tables so one can always have a snack or lunch. There are public restrooms, I believe they are locked up at night. The black and white images were with my infrared converted camera with a 720 nm filter.

Beautiful place and good restrooms! We visited the park to take pictures with the wildflowers. The bluebonnets had already passed, but there were lots of paintbrush and other flowers. There were lots of other visitors because it was Easter Sunday. The restrooms were open and clean and well stocked with TP, soap and towels. Also plenty of parking.

I quite like the park,it has some nice tribute placards for historical reference and spacious views of Texas wildflowers in bloom. The picnic tables are located beneath some ancient oaks and the caterpillars were a nuisance while trying to eat, but that is probably attributable to the season, well worth the drive out from Humble.

This place is quite a little oasis. Surrounded by lovely and shapely, big and old live oak trees. Some are truly impressive! I found it a surprisingly refrshing roadside stop. It was especially nice when I was was there with the early springtime weather being very delightful with warm temperatures and nice fresh breezes blowing over the rolling hills and open fields that encompass the rise where the old womens Baylor College used to be. Wild flowers were blooming on the grounds around the old houses there. These historical wooden houses can be toured whenever a guide is present. The park is a very nice place for a picnic on the tables under the long twisting branches of the oaks. I dont know if it was the fine spring day filled with wild flowers and the great weather and the unexpected oasis of old trees but it did seem a little magical!

This park is the location of and has the old ruins of the original Baylor College. There are a couple of historic buildings on the property. There are swings there for the kids. There is a picnic table available. The beautiful overgrown trees here are well worth the visit to this park. In the spring the blubonnets bloom along with other wildflowers. If you have the patience to sit for a while you will see butterflies fluttering through the flowers. Not much is located around this area so be sure to bring water or other drinks along for the kids or yourself. Take the 20 minute drive into Brenham and go to Must Be Heaven for lunch after your visit here. They have great chicken salad!
