This was probably a beautiful place to visit when it was first built. Now it is rundown and needs someone to do some weeding and basic maintanence. Very disappointing.

I lived here in Big Spring for 50yrs. I was in the trades class that built the first wooden deck over the spring. Moved away in 2009. After being gone for 14yrs a lot has been changed. It looks good though. The only thing I have to complain about is that it is a long walk for those who are disabled. To get down to the water.

I go to this park quite regularly its a very interesting place to enjoy your free time. It has more then youd think and definitely for the family and parties besides the history this place holds. I have been walking where the Indiana once did and makes one think how awesome walking where history was in the making and people used this place to survive trails to other places. A small water park, tennis and baseball fields, ducks and geese, turtles Ive also taken pictures of a walking stick there and I collect old and dead wood drift wood. Ive gotten some nice pieces Ive finished from there. The sunsets can be so pretty

There s a lot of potential for this to be a nice place to visit. Unfortunately today the spring looked more reminiscent to the Salton Sea in California, you know the one that s toxic. The water looked stagnant was full of every kind of trash you could imagine.

The Spring is great. Most of the park is nice other than the trash. There are rubbish bins throughout the park, so most of the trash is just laziness and apathy. Beware of the kids park called Kid Zone. There are nails, screws, sharp metal bits, and other old construction debris in the dirt surrounding the structures.
