The wait staff was excellent (only 2 people waiting) I had the wings & waffles ( the wings were on point but the waffle was cold and hard to chew) the wait staff was doing the best they could but the service is way to slow customers were leaving before putting in their orders. We were waiting on some people in our party so we stayed. Also, while waiting on our table, we over heard an argument in the kitchen which was unprofessional.

It has the atmosphere of half-assed has been fraternity sorority, midlife crisis men and women who arent sure if they were starting a lunch counter or a nightclub. The food didnt have much taste and wasnt very interesting. They opened a food truck on Lucas at Concord but the woman doesnt bother showing up to the Lunch Counter downtown closest. for my money Id rather go to Mikees or Richards which are both on Magnolia.

Where do I begin?? Let s start with the food: my tastebuds are not ready to forget the taste anytime soon. Forgot to take a pic but I had the lamb chops and waffles. They haven t come up with an adjective to describe how good that was! The ambiance: imagine yourself at a laid back cookout with lofi tunes playing in the background while you re being catered to. Service: our waiter was the cherry on top. Diligent, attentive, and funny. What are you waiting for? Pigs to fly?

These are some of the sweetest people I ve ever met and I can finally say I ve been to a black owned business where the service is top notch. The food is another story. I have hated almost every single restaurant in the Beaumont area because the food is mediocre, but tonight ? My mind was blown. The food was flavorful, hot and very reasonably priced. Everyone needs to experience it.

I always come at least 1 time a week. Food is always good, outstanding service for both dine in and take out. Overall, it is a great atmosphere with awesome people. The owner is the sweetest, most down to earth I know. Sorry, I dont have pics, but I will take some on my next visit. The cornbread bowls, seafood gumbo, and the steaks are definitely my favorite. Try it for yourself.

There s a lot I could say, but this isn t the space to share in detail. It wasn t terrible, but there s room from growth. There were some food temp and cook time issues, nothing crazy but some of the chicken was over fried. As a matter of preference, the waffle and French toast pound cake should both be served warm for a melt in mouth feel. Pace of service and the overall guest experience could use some attention. There are clear signs of this is the first year in operation. The defining mark will be what this operation looks like a year from now.

I recently visited this restaurant from Houston. We read aa the postive reviews beforehand. However, my experience was quite the opposite. We ordered the fish and grits, which came with some type of juice over the grits. Although I have never heard of this before, the grits were okay on e you pour the juice off. The fish was slightly salty, so if you have high blood pressure, it may not be the best option for you. I ordered chicken and waffles, but unfortunately the waffle came out cold. I asked for a fresh one and was told that it would be taken care of. However, when it was brought back, I noticed that it was just the same waffle that I had initially tasted, which had been warmed up in the microwave. Overall, if youre looking for quick service but dont mind microwave-warmed waffles or salty fish, or undercook chicken this place might be suitable for you. On a positive note, the waitress was amazing and provided excellent service.

I happened to be driving thru downtown and drove by and saw Truth Lounge and Bistro. I brought my wife to try it out and was impressed. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. They were serving the Saturday brunch menu, I ordered the lamb chops and waffles, and my wife ordered the fish and grits. Both dishes were very delicious and well seasoned. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make your dining experience memorable. We will definitely be returning to try the dinner menu! Overall, Truth Lounge and Bistro is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food in a welcoming atmosphere.

This was my second attempt to try this place first time the host took us to sit down and then told us they had seated someone else so no more seats were available and the wait would be 45 min .. second attempt we went taking the order was slow and then I attempted to order seafood spinach dip and was told it was not available so I left I don t doubt it s a good place I m just going by my experience

We enjoyed a 5 course meal . Yall..it was sooo good . The Chef knows exactly what she s going . Steak was flavorable , tender , and seasoned to perfection . I don t like lobster, but these lobster tails were delicious!! The atmosphere was intimate, relaxed , and our waiter was awesome, professional and down to earth . This was the perfect Valentine Dinner , oh not to mention, I won a pair of real Diamond earrings . Great job Truth Lounge , This was refreshing , and what Beaumont needed !

I came not knowing what the atmosphere was going to be like. Emory was so nice and tried his best to be attentive to our needs (party of 7) he was working most area...very respectful...polite...made us laugh ALOT! Im talking about the one that is gaining a lot of attention, Truth Lounge and Bistro, located at 672 Orleans St. The name of this restaurant does not lie. Their food is GREAT and that s the TRUTH! Over the top flavor in every savory bite. Luscious and delectable, you will not disagree. This place SLAPS!! Everything from the fried fish, chicken, steaks, burgers, oxtails, and I must also add the healthy delicious salads are full of that soul food southern flavor that will grab you on the first bite (menu pic included). They load your plate with food that is enough for two meals or share it with someone else. This is Real Soul Food Here!! The restaurant is rather small, with about ten tables and four chairs at each. There is a full-service bar and flat-screen televisions on the wall. Where they lack in size they make up with flavor. There were three of us in our party and we dined in. The atmosphere was inviting, friendly, and even a bit cozy. Beverly was our waitress and she was attentive to every detail and request. It was cornbread bowl day, and if you don t know, you will when I finish. It is a ring of sweet honey cornbread with a protein of your choice and two or three sides cuddled right in the middle. The proteins include lamb chops, roast, chicken, or fish. The sides include yams, collard greens, mac & cheese, pinto beans, green beans, or baked beans. My two lunch friends ordered the cornbread bowls. One was the cornbread bowl with fried chicken (OMG), mac & cheese, and green beans. My other friend ordered a vegetarian bowl with cabbage, yams, and mac & cheese. I ordered a salad with salmon bites, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and a side of ranch. It was beautiful to look at and even better to eat. Freshness and flavor throughout this beautiful and savory salad. I would order it again. We had an amazing and fun time, our plates were filled to capacity. You better bring your appetite when you go to TRUTH because you will need it to finish all the food they pile on your plate. Elana was our server and the service was impeccable. My husband ordered the salmon. It was fried but was still moist and succulent. Perfect for a lunch size order. I ordered the shrimp and grits. They were very flavorful, quite tasty, and had just the right amount of spice to make this a definite go-to meal. Both meals were at a great price. The restaurant setting was remarkable, and the ambiance was amazing. Pictures done by artist were hanging on the wall with prices attached, which was quite unique, and the party rental area was charming, and the price is affordable. I came here for brunch this past Sunday brunch with my brother and daughter. The food was delicious and fresh. The server and service was great. The atmosphere was amazing. I had a couple of the spiked mimosas too. They offer a great selection of both the juice flavor and the liquor. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The prices were more than reasonable. I had the shrimp and grits and the chicken wings. If those are what you like, then they have some of the best.

I ve visited here 3 times so far and definitely intend to continue going back. The food is really good. I don t eat meat so it doesn t leave me with a lot of food options but they do in fact have a couple of options. The service is good. The wait staff are attentive and accommodating. I always enjoy the choice of music they play. It does tend to be a little warm, at least the few times I ve been there but it s not unbearable at all. All and all I like and it brings me great pride that it s black owned.

A bit disappointed. The entire operation needs improvement. Almost an hour before we received food. Had to ask three times for utensils and water. Seems as though champagne bottles are left uncorked as there was no fizz just a flat glass of liquid. I m surprised this places passed inspection no ventilation or central air.
