My family and I stopped in early one weekend because its new in our area. I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Everything was nice and clean. I wasnt too happy with the food. I am all for a simple breakfast but it was barely warm and the potatoes we got the 2 different kids and they were too hard. The coffee was nice and strong which I loved but was very disappointed with the food. We probably wont be back.

Worst hamburger Ive had in years, maybe ever! Update: The manager called and apologized and invited us back for another opportunity to earn our business. We will update this again after this weekend. But huge props for the effort! My wifes steak tasted freezer burned, veggies overcooked and cold.

Very pleasant experience. Good food and very friendly service. Our waitress, Emerald was very friendly and attentive. She answered our questions regarding our food selections. The manager was also friendly. We had the chicken fried steak, and I had red skin mashed potatoes with country gravy and green beans and a salad with mine and my husband had eggs, grits and their HUGE biscuits with his. Everything was tasty and delicious. We will be back! I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Parking: Parking was very convenient.

My family was in town for a celebration. We wanted to get together as cousins and have breakfast before leaving as many of us as possible. We decided on Black Bear since we know the food would be tasty. Debbie was out waitress, and she was sooooo amazing. She felt like part of the family. She was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu and options. She explained everything well and ensured we were all comfortable while we waited for our food. No matter what we needed She made herself available. She was committed to her service and served all of us with joy and patience. I would come back again just to see Debbie and eat those spicy sausage patties. Let me not forget the manager on 9.29.24 (morning shift) who also accommodated our large party. First off, the gentleman that seated us was so kind and took the time to figure out seating for us. It s a diner yall, (we should have repeated this to ourselves before planning for a party of 13 lol), so we had to be split up. We were prepared to be placed all over the diner But the gentleman made sure we were in close proximity. And our waiter Debbie The customer service that she shared with our family was personable and rare! We went on a Friday evening and greeter was great got our seats. Took 30 minutes to get our drinks Our drinks were taken by the GREETER. At that moment, we still did not have a server. Looked around and saw all servers just standing around. Finally placed order and we waited another 45 minutes ans kids got their pancakes ans our meals were not ready yet. So we let kids eat and paid their meals and left.

I visited this location this past weekend. When I came in, I immediately noticed how clean and spacy it was. The atmosphere was nice with good music and lighting. The staff was very nice and we got a table in no time! Nicolle was our server, and she was AMAZING!!! She would stop by our table before we were able to run out of anything. The food was great. It was hot, served in a timely manner, and it was properly seasoned!!! The portions were great as well. We had a great time at Black Bear Diner, which I was surprised. Since its been a while since Ive had excellent service like this, I let the AM Mariah know how great the service was. Great customer service is a big thing for me, so I always let it be known when I receive it I was so pleased. I will be back with my family!

I like the food in this restaurant we visit it every Saturday and sometimes on Sundays for breakfast both Baytown Tx.(which is the closest to us, we live in Channelview) and Pasadena Tx. Also the service that all the waitresses give is excellent today was the third time that Débora attended us always with good service. I only have two complaints: the first one: I regularly like the Shasta veggie but what I noticed is that on the menu it says that it has avocado (thats why I ask for it!) But the disappointing thing is that they dont put it on! The second one: is that many Mexican Americans go to eat there but there is never classic Mexican music in the rockola.

My sons plate was sent back twice. My husband got his food after everyone else and his food tasted freezer burnt. My food tasted old as well. Will be my last visit. Came here with family tonight ordered waited 10 minutes for drinks and 2 hours for food to even start coming out they brought out plates to us and then some to other tables and back to us all of our food didn t come out together, my poor dad had to wait the longest and his food came out cold they messed up my brothers order twice and they messed up mine. So glad I spent 15 dollars on this waffle. idk about you but when I added fruit and whip cream, I wasn t expecting for a 4 dollar upcharge I was gonna get half a strawberry. As a first time customer, the Manager Mr. Holmes and the waitress Mercedes was phenomenal. Both were very polite and their meal recommendations were on point. Enjoyed every bit of it. I recently visited Black Diner Cafe in Baytown, and I had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the service was truly exceptional. I had a very nice and pleasant time at the Restaurant by my Waitress Debora Garza, she was very persistence on making sure my cup was filled and always asked me if I needed anything and always had a smile on her face which put me in a positive atmosphere even though it was raining outside, Thank You Debora Garza ! Such a let down today. We went for Labor Day around 2:30p and we waited 25 mins to be seated. There were no smiles from anyone when we walked in and just sad. Then when we got seated the restaurant was dirty with trash and food on the floor and tables. The restrooms were dirty with toilet paper on the floor and no soap. Then it took almost 15 mins for a waitress to come to the table take or order and drinks and another 10 mins to actually get drinks. No silverware on the table and the food took 40 mins to come to the table and came in pieces. My daughters, then mine and then my husbands. An they all came after each of us were finished eating. I could see people standing behind the counter not cleaning, stocking, or moving with any urgency to check on tables or refill drinks or clean. This restaurant has gone down hill and fast. If I new I was going to spend this much for the bad service I received, I would have just gone to Chick-fil-A. Truly a disappointing experience. If I could give a negative review I so would .

Service was great. The cheeseburger salad is amazing! The meatloaf reminds me of premade frozen and tastes very different than any other meatloaf I have had. Would not recommend. The chocolate pie tastes really good. Atmosphere was alright. Server Darius is very attentive!

Great service and food. Food was hot and fresh and generously portioned. Not only did our server check on us continuously, the manager came by several times to ensure that we were well taken care off. The restaurant was super clean and though it was busy, we were seated promptly. So glad they came to Baytown.

Phenomenal. The portions are huge, and the prices are comparable. Debbie was my server, and she was very knowledgeable and most of all friendly and attentive throughout the visit. This was me and my husbands first time eating at this location. The service was good and the waitress we had was very sweet. The food was okay, but I will say that the biscuits and pancakes were dry. Also, I overheard a woman who seemed to be a manager, address two waitresses as if they were children. The waitresses were at a station speaking to each other for no longer than 1-2 mins. The woman said loudly from a distance, ladies!, in what seemed to be an attempt to get them to stop talking and move around. It just rubbed me the wrong way because it was like a teacher getting on to little children, and I wondered how else these employees get treated. I could tell it was not well received and I felt bad for the waitresses. If a manager has something to address with any employee, it should be done with professionalism, respect, and tact.

Food was over cooked but, you could suffer thru it, the waitresses were awesome great conversation and such great personalities. The worst thing for me is having a manger sitting at the counter eating and screaming and hollering orders at the staff , while on her on cell phone, telling staff to get off of theirs. This place is ok, but they need to keep the menu in stock. We asked cornbread, they were out, asked for a backed potato with our main course, they were out. Asked for two other items, and they were out. The hot coaco is very watery. Some of the food came out late because the kitchen forgot about it. Our food got cold because we did not want to start eating without everyone having their food brought out. My family has also gone to a different location, and the same service was given. Im not sure if we will want to go back.

Food wasn t bad. Asked for extra ice. Received a glasss of ice with a lemon seed in it. Wife s bowl arrived with a strawberry mashed on the bottom of it. She didn t get cheese that she requested on her salad. When my order came out I was told they were out of macaroni and cheese. The waiter, Trystan, was friendly, and he was trying. If this was all, I wouldn t complain. The language coming from the kitchen ruined the atmosphere. On top of that, several employees gathered at the end of our table to laugh, play, and talk loud enough to disrupt our meal. As we checked out I was asked if I wanted to tell the manager. I said only if she wants to know why I m not returning. She wasn t called. Kid-friendliness: Would not want a child to be near the kitchen!
