Great service and appreciated the family friendly atmosphere, probably wasnt a good idea to go when it was over 100° outside though, but still a great experience. Sat and talked with the owner and she was working with a hurt leg, but youd never know it because of her warm and inviting smile, our little family will be back very soon! Also, their pie was REALLY good!

I usually don t usually do this but if I am being honest the food was terrible. I believe the French fries were pretty good but as far as the chicken fried steak and sides, absolutely not. Maybe I am used to a certain kind of meal, but this truly didn t meet any kind of marks for good food. The service was okay.

Not the best food weve ever had, but it was good enough. Food was slow to come out, but our coffee stayed full during that time, at least. Also, we were charged more than we were supposed to be. Our check wasnt tallied up when given to us, so I calculated our total and even looked up the Texas tax for restaurants. The total I calculated was $1 less than we were charged. Its not much but enough to be noticeable.

Grits were runny, gravy was like paste I ask to make my hash browns crispy they were almost raw, biscuits were cold I was really disappointed , the prices has sky rocket, I feel they only care about the money and have cut the quantity and quality of there food. 1egg biscuits gravy bacon hashbrowns, and small cup of grits 11dollars, I also ask for silver ware and didnt get it. In reply to the manager trying to make me look stupid I told you Peggy exactly how I wanted my food and you still got it wrong, your passive aggressive rebuttal was nothing but an insult to me as a customer.

This place is so adorable. Peggy is the Owner/Operator of this establishment. She will be your waitress. Shes such a sweetheart. And the food is like going to a countryside cafe. Which quite frankly is what it is. Home cooked meals literally cooked up and made from scratch. And desert is fresh pies. Fresh made Sweet Tea as well. Ultimately Peggys is 100% for me.

Outrageously expensive, for 1 adult and 2 children eating breakfast here was close to $70.00. We have eaten breakfast at other places such as Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Waffle House and have never ever come close to paying this amount of money. Pancakes were thick, tough, hard, cold, needed a steak knife to cut through them. Bacon was cold as well with the hash browns and toast. I love supporting local businesses, but not his way, taking advantage of the consumer. This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant.

This must be the only establishment left in Dallas that allows smoking in the restaurant. The food was ok but the smoking killed it. The non smoking room wasn t really non smoking. The restrooms were in this area and the patrons would take their cigarettes to the bathroom with them. Not the experience I was looking for in a new restaurant.

Not impressed. Yes, my over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly, but they were cold when served. My breakfast included biscuits and gravy, but biscuits didnt arrive until later (though they were at least warm). Bacon was very crisp (too crispy for some). Coffee was good and cup was refilled promptly. They do offer smoking/non-smoking sections, though you must pass through smoke to get to non-smoking.

Down home cooking there or phone in orders to go breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have comfortable self seating at a table or a booth also can fit a party or 6 or more, just let the wait staff know either ahead of time or when you come in. The atmosphere is laid back and gives a warm welcoming feel that isnt stuffy. The cafe has smoking and non-smoking area available. Karaoke every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and band night on Fridays is a plus for those that want to sing or hear a country western band play the old tunes from yesterday. They take cash, check, and most credit and debit cards.

I had Peggys skillet scramble and a short stack of pancakes. The skillet meal was great. Eggs and sausage was cooked and tasted well. The pancakes felt dense and came out luke warm. Those were a little disappointing compared to the quality of the skillet. Other reviewers have mentioned the smoking, and that can be a concern here. I dont mind smoking, but did smell like I had been in a casino all day after leaving.

I dont go there much. But my husband never miss a day.I mean everyday no matter where we are he gets up and heads there.we moved over 50 miles and he still got up and drive to it I dont go hardly at all its his get away he tells me.he just likes to go cause its nice and quick and even though there are lots of smokers for sure he likes ves how people make you feel welcome.its mostly only people over 50 that go there.if you see anyone young in the place there there with there grandparents.they dont hang out there they just wouldnt fit in.but there more than welcome to come to come and check it out.the food is country cooking for sure and its amazing how good it is.on wed its chicken and dumplings .god there so good and they have singing there on Mondays everyone can come up and sing.and wed wed and Fridays come and check the enjoyable old time country song.live it.
