The whole vibe is so nice at GP! From the food to the atmosphere, everything was so top notch. Our server Nikki was on point, very attentive, friendly and provided menu suggestions that turned out to exceed our expectations. We ordered the artichoke spinach dip, ribeye sandwich, and steak and potatoes and everything was delicious. Our cocktails, an old fashion and gin lemon drop were made exactly as expected. Definitely will be back!

A RAW WHOLE SCALLION IS NOT A GARNISH. We came for a nice meal and drinks, nothing crazy. Had medium expectations, just wanted a bite before headed home. Boy were we let down. I ordered the steak and potatoes and my GF ordered the salmon. Steak was meh: no sear, burnt seasoning, cut way too early so was super dry, and a RAW green onion on top. I don t know why but that killed my mood, MANAGEMENT, get rid of it or have the cooks at least throw it on the griddle for a bit and make it edible at LEAST. Waste of product and is not presentation worthy, felt like kitchen nightmares when Gordon is mad talking the food bay the beginning of the episode. The salmon: over cooked, ok seasoning, and sat on a HUGE bed of slaw that was way too sour and took up 2/3 of the plate. Needless to say, their saving grace were the potatoes and Brussel sprouts, great flavor, cooked great and the only reason I didn t trash talk the entire place. 2/5 stars, wouldn t recommend, the rustic is right there.

The place is nice, rustic with modern twist. If you are a sporty person who loves to drink and watch sports. This is the place for you to go. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which was juicy and made with good quality meat. The only downside is that some portions of the meat were salty. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and she said they were juicy with a crispy coating, but some portions of the fish were also salty. Overall, it was pleasant, and the service was great!

Got off work late so we went at almost 10pm. Very few people in there at that time. We got first class service my son had a tiki alcoholic beverage that was tasty in a cool tiki head glass. Appetizers we had were the bacon wrapped shrimp which were good just only 3 to order. Also had the meat and cheese tray. Which was fresh meats, honey covered cheese, pimento cheese, nuts and a pickled medley. I had the chicken bacon apple sandwich with lemon potatoes. I was expecting a grilled chicken but it was cold carved chicken which was good but not what I was expecting. Apple slices could have been thicker. Potatoes were good but not very lemony. Pickles were delicious tasted homemade. Id give my meal a 3.5. My son had the steak and lemon potatoes. He said it was a 4 steak was tender and juicy and cooked to medium rare as requested but wasnt much sliced steak . Over all it was good but a bit pricey for the quality. They have a very unique menu tho just not alot of choices on it. I probably wont run back to this place but its worth trying if u into really fresh farm to table hip restaurant. Was too full for dessert but it sounded delicious.

Fantastic drinks, delicious food, not too bright and loud atmosphere, with vivid colors. I highly recommend the Empanadas, they are more than spectacular! And the meatballs were another lovely app! If ya like a smoky cocktail, well I love the Passion Fruit Sour. And if you want something close to sweet tea, which they didnt have when I visited, get the Peach Tea, under the whiskey cocktails section.

I stepped into the General Public this evening with my parents, hoping to greet their 2-hour trip into town with something resembling a quick bite to eat. What I got instead was just-decent grub with some of the poorest service I ve ever had. Our server was completely misinformed on a menu item, and my father instead ate nothing. The hushpuppies were remarkably good compared to the rest of the meal, but my salad and the fish and chips were both mediocre at best. We weren t even offered drink refills until we had finished our meals, and our server only ever approached the table when he assumed we were dine-and-ditching after another employee thankfully came to let us pay our check. It was alright eats, and I d love to come back for something cheap if I could have any guarantee in an improvement in service - which I doubt is likely.

UPDATE: I stopped by for their lunch special, and got the harvest bowl with salmon. It was fresh and exquisite. It was a large portion and everything was cooked to perfection. If you get a chance to swing by here for lunch, it s a great deal However, you still can t go wrong with the amazing dinner as well. It s just that lunch is large and such a great deal. Double highly recommend We dropped in for a quick bite to eat before our movie, on a Thursday night And the place was hopping! They have a great happy hour for drinks only, so there were quite a few folks at the bar having some fun after work. We ordered the tuna Niçoise salad and the fish and chips. Both were excellent and fresh. I am a very picky fish connoisseur and it s very important for it to be as fresh as it was. Great service, food, and a great atmosphere to boot.

Visited the San Antonio location on 5.19.24. This place is a mess - it took almost ten minutes to be greeted once my party sat down, which should have been a sign to just leave - this despite there being less than 15 people in the whole restaurant. It took 10 minutes later to get our drinks - including one served in a dirty glass. 40 minutes after ordering our food arrives - a long time to wait for kids grilled cheese, burgers and a steak sandwich. During the time of waiting, and during the meal, we were visited maybe 3x by the food server, with drinks being empty for a significant time, and the old drinks just left on the table (I just started moving them myself to the table next to me). Once the food arrives, the size of a childrens grilled cheese was absurd. Its literally once slice of bread, cut in half, and then cut in half again. The only reason the review gets 2 stars instead of 1 star is because the food itself was decent. Makes sense why the restaurant was so empty at lunch time though.

This place was amazing, I went here for mothers day and it was amazing. There will always be someone at the front waiting to seat you, and everyone working there is so kind and considerate. I ordered the fish and chips and contrary to popular belief they taste like chicken with a little more flavor. I definitely recommend the tater tots as well. Kid-friendliness: If you go during brunch it will be very suitable for children however a lot of meals on the menu are for more mature people.

Our order was extensive, including items like a bacon burger, honey wings, chicken meatballs, and fish and chips. Unfortunately, the dishes generally fell short of our hopes. Great space so was truly disappointed at the quality of food and service. The building and pictures were amazing but the flavor didnt measure up. We arrived for Sunday brunch, there were just a few people there buy the server kept walking away before we could complete our order. The order took a long time to arrive which would have been acceptable had the place been packed, but there were more staff present than customers so I was surprised that they were slow. We had our company Christmas gathering there and from the time we walked in till we left it was a great experience. Service throughout the meal was spot on. Not recommend, waiter likes to insult you prob so she wont serve anyone... lazy AZZ girl n also the cook Jackie doesnt know how to follow instructions. as a guest I order no SALT on my burger n fries thats horrible when one has a limit of what to eat n not to eat and she just went on and made it her WAY with SALT... AN ORDER TO GO YEAH! but, I DIDNT KNOW TILL I GOT HOME

Jake, the bartender, was absolutely amazing! We came in from Houston and he made us feel like we were part of Cheers! 10/10 recommend stopping by the bar and letting Jake whip up a delicious cocktail for you! The best dirty martini ever! And the lavender martini was to die for! He is a great conversationalist and an even more skilled mixologist.

Delicious happy hour! Great prices and a limited food selection. Staff seemed distracted yet were pleasant. Yes, we will be back for happy hour when in the area. Thought we could order from the menu then found out we needed to order only from happy hour menu. Worked out! Beef Sliders were tasty. The General Public is tucked in Rim Shopping Center and worth going. Parking is limited. Busy area.

If you are a poc, don t eat here. They won t serve you or 30 minutes after you sat down will they eventually take your drink order. All while another table that was sat 10 minutes after you has drinks and appetizers already at the table. Also no, this is not just from one time this has happened 3 separate times at different parts of the day.

Im not one to leave negative reviews without good reason, but the restaurant experience overall just made us feel unwelcomed, I went to try out the restaurant a total of three times to see if the incident was just an occurrence or a pattern and each time our server would serve tables around us but never us (this isnt during a max capacity time either, generally around 11am on a weekend when theres only 2-4 other tables currently being served in the restaurant) . Each time I or my father would wait approximately 20-30 minutes to speak to someone else (either another server or manager) since we generally dont like to complain about service since weve both worked service industry, but for it to occur this often isnt an experience Id like to repeat

Server recommended the Fish and Chips and she wasnt wrong. The fish was crispy and perfectly cooked. The chips were better than expected (fresh cut fries can be very hit or miss). There were only 5 patrons total, which was surprising since it was 12:30ish. Lunch specials are a great value. The menu had several options that interested me, I will not hesitate to visit again.

I ate here with a friend today while on our lunch break. We both ordered the harvest bowl, and explained to our server, Nisha that we were in a bit of a rush and didnt plan on staying long. I went to Calebs bar with a group of friends. We were all in different moods, and we couldnt decide what to drink. Caleb asked us a few questions about our preferences, and then he made each of us a custom cocktail. We were all blown away by how delicious our drinks were, and how perfectly they suited our individual tastes. My first glass of Chardonnay was room temperature - and TBH, it s a little warm in here. But, it s not unbearable and husband says it has good reviews. Everyone has off days and many are short-handed. I ask the bartender if the Chardonnay has had time to chill. He replies they are having trouble with the cooler. Maybe he should have left it at that. INSTEAD, he says the next glass won t be chilled unless he opens a new bottle that just came from the back cooler. I ask if he s going to do that, and he says absolutely not, it s a full brand new bottle. I give him a second chance, and ask if he s serious? He stands his ground. WOW!!! Which is exactly what I said to him.
