I was so nervous, anxious, and scared when I first reached out to Chris from Kirker Davis. I didnt even know the difference between family law and criminal law. My ex applied for a protective order lying my resident state, having a wrong police report number for a fake break in and bunch of lies as a preemptive legal manipulation tactic to silence me as i am a victim of his sexual assault. He filed the protective order after my suicide attempt as he was scared i would file a police report with Austin PD for rape, criminal intimidation , threats for posting nudes, threats to kill me and my family and abusive language. He was cruel to even call my suicide attempt a setup when i was admitted in hospital and a official statement was also recorded. Long story short i was in a very very traumatic situation and out of country and didnt even know how to take care of this situation. Chris and Miguel from Kirker Davis helped me with this protective order and also gave me confidence to proceed with the case i filed in India against my ex. I had many sessions where i cried for hours and hours on zoom call reading the cruel verbiage and lies on affidavits written by my ex with my attorney. My attorney was always available to talk with me and used to reply emails in few minutes. I always felt heard, supported and was even consoled. Chris and Miguel are intelligent attorneys and more than anything empathetic individuals. I won the protective order case with lack of personal jurisdiction without even going to the court. YES!!! That feeling when you know you hired the best attorney you could find and it saved your lots of $$$$ in the long run, that is me. We won because we had the better legal team, period. These guys had their hands full with me. I had a complex estate going through divorce and needed to ensure it was handled right. I also have a very hard time controlling my emotions - by the end of it, I had my team laughing and high fiving - but that was after some tears, lots of screaming and many, many F bombs..... In the end though, we fought the best fight and feel that I came out as well as could be expected, better really. Everyones definition of fair is different - so others involved dont think it was fair. If you were the one that built it, youd agree it was more than fair. Excellent communication throughout the ordeal. Never dropped a ball or let things sit idle. And really good at talking calmly to me so that I could really understand what was going on and how to move forward. Would highly recommend my team: Stephen Payne, Anthony & Julie.

I retained Kirker Davis ~ 6 months ago when I made the difficult decision to leave my marriage. I interviewed three different attorneys prior to choosing Becca Kennedy. Becca did a great job of explaining the process, setting expectations, and asking me what my biggest fears were. She made me confident in her skill set as a litigator and made me feel comfortable with her level of experience with cases like my own. I could not be happier with the team that I have representing me. I work with Becca Kennedy, Kasey Borthwick, and Jordan Thomas. These women communicate extremely well. I get an email for my records with every interaction with opposing council. They schedule time for me to come in before any importance appearance so we can be prepared appropriately. They are very thorough with the information in my case. There level of responsiveness is unmatched. They often reply to my emails within minutes. These women really have my back and have allowed for me to take a step back as I trust that they are on top of things and truly have my best interest in mind. Above all, these women are KIND. UPDATED REVIEW 9/12/2024: I reached back out to Kirker Davis to address a question I had and explore a review/modification to the decree. The intake coordinator was completely incompetent, while they scheduled the initial call (which is nonsense TBH, its just so that they can schedule over the phone with you for the real call), the real call with the attorney did not happen! No notice of cancellation, but it was close to Labor Day weekend so I guess thats why. The intake coordinator still scheduled it but I never got confirmation from them (even though I emailed Fri morning just to confirm), then the intake coordinator went silent all week and then followed up the following week claiming they were out of office (even though there was no OOO message that was sent to me). Just complete laziness as if they didnt want to help me out at all. Then the day of the call there was confusion from the intake coordinator about the details of the call....even though I provided my final decree, a summary of the issue, and even citations of all clauses to make it as plug and play for them as possible - which took a long time. I ended up just canceling. It was a COMPLETE waste of two weeks for a time-sensitive issue. Im REALLY disappointed by these guys, unfortunately the intake is the beginning process and they seem to have really dropped the ball here. I know my previous 5 star review has been seen by tens of thousands of people, and personally I have been recommending their services to people I know, so I have to do the right thing and update my review to reflect my most recent experience with them which was very negative. The intake people straight up suck at this place - I cannot recommend them to anyone. PREVIOUS REVIEW (2022): I am so impressed with Kirker Davis LLP. After I reached out to them for my initial inquiry, they quickly connected me with one of their top attorneys (Lianna Smith) to review my divorce case within a matter of days. I was blown away by Liannas efforts. Lianna is extremely intelligent and worked hard to give me invaluable information about my case, even coming up with out-of-the box creative ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. Which is what I desperately needed as Im navigating a child custody divorce case. She really has empathy and passion for what does - its obvious that she wants whats best for her clients and I felt like she really cared about my situation and wanted to help me out as much as possible (which she absolutely did). I am so pleased with my experience here that I had to write a review to let others know about Lianna and Kirker Davis LLP. If the opportunity arises again, I will absolutely work with them again. I must say, I am very impressed with the incredible service that I have received from Anthony Brigano, and the kind and friendly staff at Kirker-Davis. I fired my representation from this law firm after they made no meaningful progress on my divorce in seven months. I worked with three attorneys (due to turnover?). Two of the three had very little family law experience. Notably, there was a lack of ownership on the part of the two attorneys who took over for the first one. Hiring this law firm was a very expensive mistake. The following list summarizes my experience: They gave me bad legal advice that was costly and damaging to my case; they were slow to action, which gave the opposing party the upper hand; they were sloppy and slow with documentation, which resulted in more documentation (more $); they couldn t get the opposing attorney to engage with them; they didn t understand the opposing attorney s basic strategy; they couldn t follow directions; and they didn t communicate effectively, so I never knew what to expect.

I am very happy with the choice I made for Kirker Davis to represent me in my recent divorce. The partner I had for my case, Alyse Donnelly, is top-notch. Super-sharp, could answer questions that were involved and didnt have a simple yes/no answer, provided great guidance on what to expect, when, how various things might play out, and how the various judges in Travis County might view the facts of the case. Shes a great negotiator - she was in total command of all the numbers during mediation and was able to give solid counterarguments during that process. Beyond that, the other attorneys that helped with my case are whip-sharp. If you choose this firm, youll get a team of crackerjacks who are driven and who know their way around the local courthouse. I would say, 5 stars, would do again, but theres no way Im going through a divorce like this again. Everyone should have a pre-nup - relying on the laws in place is a losers bet. Thanks to Kirker-Davis I was able to settle my divorce in a timely manner with what felt like flawless execution. I was anxious about mediation and I was not very informed about the law. Chris and Caroline were impressively knowledgeable and kept me from having to go to court. As a physician in the throws of a highly contentious, adversarial, complicated divorce, I can attest to the intelligence, authenticity, dedication, and genuine character of the firms namesake - Chris Kirker. To say it bluntly, Chris is sharp as hell, retains and assimilates the facts, knows every player and goes up and beyond to research the applicable laws to position you best. Chris handled the land mine of missiles launched against us with absolute precision. The dirty games the other side played never shook him and he kept us clean as a whistle and professional. Truly sensed that Chris cared about my and my childrens mental well being. He seemed to brew and strategize late at night and over weekends. He is conscientious and takes great pride in getting a good outcome for you. When my case crossed states lines and my un-hinged Ex tried to go nuclear in AZ, he had the humility to suggest that we get additional counsel to bridge the potential deficiencies in his scope to protect my out of state business. Honestly, believe Chris and I will be friends for life. The only issue for Kirker Davis is Chris is one human....I initially had Candice Deyerle as part of my team. When I decided to file for divorce, I googled the best family attorney in Austin and got Kirkers firm as one of the top ... well, I did not know that hiring that firm does not mean getting a good lawyer, or an experienced lawyer. It felt to me I got a very inexperienced lawyer who appeared incompetent and constantly unprepared. In my opinion, Kody did not only lack the basic understanding of how to maximize the gains of his client ... he was consistently unprepared and always reacting to the other partys filings or actions. Everything seemed to be like a surprise. Always consulting with his colleagues on what to do next. The other partys attorney had 30+ years of exp .. they were lying & hiding info & maneuvering ... & while youd expect your attorney to protect you from such dishonest behavior & hold them accountable ... it felt to me that Kody was helpless & constantly giving him excuses. I changed my attorney after 9 months of useless expenses & effort .. and in 3 months, I ended up with a result that was told to me by Kody as very unlikely.

I had never worked with an attorney prior to my recent divorce. I had all the usual reservations- how do I know he will act in my best interest, is he actually any good at what he does, and is he really worth the expense? Fortunately I called and spoke to Kody Silva, and I can say without hesitation that I don t think I could have dreamed of a better outcome. I was blindsided by a divorce after 19 years of marriage and being a stay at home mom all of those years. My husband asked that we share an attorney and amicably split all assets 50/50. The outstanding legal firm of Kirker/Davis represented me in my divorce. Cogent to providing a better understanding of the superior quality of this team s representation and my experience, I m compelled to provide a brief contextual background. I was a former physician who was married for 30 years to a very successful surgeon in Austin,Texas. It was disconcerting when my ex wife transferred and took control of all of our accounts and assets, leaving me in a very precarious financial position. Thus, without an income, nor access to our community estate, my ex wife through her attorneys attempted to squeeze me to settle for a paltry portion of our estate. Enter Kirker/Davis and my ex wife s intentions were abruptly halted, when I enlisted Chris Kirker and Holly Davis s legal help. Quickly, it was clear to both my ex and her attorneys the battle field had just changed substantially, and that my team meant to win. What ensued over the next 9 months was an arduous process, which ended in an actual jury trial lasting a week. Throughout those nine months, and especially during the week long jury trial, I witnessed the astounding synergism between these two attorney s with differing skill sets. Chris and Holly when combined, proved repeatedly to opposing council, they were simply outmatched on numerous levels. April 3, 2019 Lets face it, the divorce process is hard! I was given numerous referrals to different law firms around Austin when my ex, and I, decided we were going to get a divorce in October of 2018. Kirker Davis was the first firm I reached out to, and after speaking to the intake specialist about my situation, he paired me up with Lianna. I spoke to her on the phone (really liked her demeanor) and we met the next day!! I hired her on the spot after our in-person meeting and it was the best decision I could have ever made. I do not know what is better, Amazing or Phenomenal, but Kirker Davis team were both!! I really appreciated their efforts over the past year. I wish I could write 100 positive reviews for this law firm. The Kirker Davis firm was a true partner and advocate throughout the painstaking process of Divorce. Chris Kirker is one of the brightest and best divorce attorneys Ive ever encountered. I interviewed several lawyers and firms before choosing Kirker Davis as my firm of reference for my divorce. His team, Holly Davis, Ashley Morgan, Julie & several other top echelon team members provided an outcome I couldnt be happier with. Chris Kirker is not only a top attorney but a top strategist in his field. He navigated a very complex divorce with tact, patience and intense strategy at its highest level. This has been the most amazing experience I could have ever wished to have, especially regarding the circumstances. From the moment I was contacted by Brandon Maldonado for intake, to stepping into the office the first, second and third time as well as every correspondence with my attorney, paralegals and office manager, I have been treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. Kirker Davis was recommended to me by my financial advisor. More specifically, Holly Davis was recommended. Divorce is a terrible process to go through. It shakes your world, your life as you have known it. When this is happening, you want to have someone in your corner who feels trustworthy, comforting, kind, competent, professional, and compassionate. Holly was all of that, and a bag of chips. Seriously, I felt well taken care of, all my options were considered, things I would not have thought of on my own were addressed, and I was always treated with kindness and respect. Kirker Davis is a top of the line law firm that excels in strategy, execution and victory. As a Line Officer in the Navy with 16 years of service I can credibly assess that their operations are on point and well-greased. Holly and Chris are simply magic in the courtroom: expertly weaving their story on the floor and directing the flow of arguments. Whats more is that they take that extra level of care and customer service when you need it most, making critical calls and responses via email and phone at night and on the weekend should necessity dictate. The result is a pair that exhibits hybrid characteristics of both dedicated hired guns and personal friends and confidants. Kirker Davis advertises concierge level service, and it couldnt be more true. My case started out very bleak, with multiple significant challenges and obstacles already established when I first walked into the Kirker Davis office. Although I cannot go into the details of my case, Holly, Chris and the rest of the KD team were able to turn the tables from a defensive posture to undeniable forward momentum. Chris spent a great deal of time with me preparing for my divorce. His recommendations and meticulous attention to the details of the verbiage in the decree became beneficial a year after the divorce became final. His vast experience, almost as he could see the future, saved me a significant amount of money. The Ex, tried to sue me for 3 separate items. All 3, including demanding for additional child support, were essentially tossed out of court. During the actual divorce, we successfully negotiated the only thing that was truly important to me; 50% possession of my son. Thanks Chris!!!

Mediation is not simple just because it isnt in a courtroom. You need someone who understands the process, your priorities & how to find compromise amid the stress & emotion of the parties involved.. Ms.Davis was professional yet personable. She remained focused, even through the long hours of endless detail, all the while continually checking in with us as to our concerns, our understanding of each specific issue & our own energy level. I am an attorney myself, and have been litigating high exposure cases for over two decades. So when I had to hire a lawyer for my own divorce, my standards were extremely high. Chris Kirker and Holly Davis not only met, but exceeded, every one of them. They did all the things that exceptional lawyers do. First, strategic thinking. They thought far ahead of what was happening at the time; in fact, Chris came up with a very inventive strategy to get to finality much more quickly than would have happened following the standard course. Second, communication. Their communication of both good and bad news was exceptional, keeping me fully informed and involved through the whole process. Third, responsiveness. When I had issues arise that needed fast action, they responded promptly. Fourth, value. They were very judicious with the time and resources that they devoted to my case, and submitted detailed bills describing exactly what had been done. I have many friends ask me for legal advice. Chris led my divorce case to a successful conclusion without having to go to trial. He also gave me the latitude to negotiate issues with my ex while making me aware of the risks involved along the way.
