We took my daughter and her roommates out for a birthday brunch! The restaurant offered only a Brunch menu. The food was good and abundant. The service was great! Our waitress kept my daughters cake for us till we were ready for it. She brought us plates and a knife. It was a nice place in downtown Austin. Dietary restrictions: They offered gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

What a great place to meet friends or have a first date! This place is low-key and cool and convenient to everything downtown. My friends had some wonderful salads and I opted for the Cuban sandwich. Its the best Cuban Ive had in years! I was thankful for their patience while we had fantastic conversation. Be sure to check it out.

This place is always so great. The food is fresh, the service and servers are always top notch. Don t mind the huge groups of bachelorette parties, the servers do not compromise their level of service and always deliver the best experience. I m serious, the food is actually really good! A great place for an impromptu brunch, lunch or dinner if you forgot to make reservations.

Ive enjoyed The Grove since its inception. The owners used to have an Italian concept called Mezza Luna. Sadly, it was destroyed in a fire. Instead of recreating that concept, they created The Grove. In the early years, you could see many of the recipes that were carried over. But keep in mind in no way is The Grove an Italian restaurant. Rather, I would define it as Americana. Todays dish was Ginger Noodle. Clearly, its not an Italian dish, lol. Quite good, a bit spicy, but a pleasant change from what I normally get, which is the Bolognese, also excellent.

We had a 12-year old with us on our trip to The Grove after being turned away at a few different places. It was early in the evening (8:00 pm), but NO bars with food will except you just for food. OMGOAT the bartender (also our server) was just amazing at The Grove. They were also the one making our drinks, and later informed us they designed the menu. Kid-friendliness: If you are looking for a place and you have your kiddos in-tow, this is the place!

Great restaurant! We sat outside and it was very nice. The charcuterie board is a must. It can feed up to 6 ppl. I got the creole pasta and it was very good. My daughter got the salmon on risotto, but really didn t like it because the risotto was black instead of white we didn t ask how they made it, but she really didn t like that but the salmon on it was very good. Loved the wine flights!! we tried the crème brûlée, and it was very good. Service was good. Restaurant was pretty clean. Parking is bad.

Family dinner for five. Great, varied menu. We had the charcuterie/cheese plate, with fig jam, apples, grapes, brie, manchego, ground mustard, meats, marcona almonds. It was great, with something for everyone. Other items ordered: white wine flight, merlot, creole fettucine, an outstanding mushroom soup with coconut milk (I havent had mushroom soup in year, this one has potatoes, carrots, wild rice, herbs), a pizza with ricotta, lemon, basil, and a large Italian sandwich. Our server was wonderful, and the atmosphere was very nice. Would definitely return. They have lots of options for every dietary restriction and over 150 wines. Wheelchair accessibility: There was a ramp going from sidewalk to entrance. Also, they seated us very close to the entrance, which was very helpful for us.

It is hard to believe the place has such good re views.Every item we ordered was messed up. Cosmo was very sour, pizza was cold and tasteless, with almost no cheese on it and chocolate cake dessert was dry and came with whipped cream instead of ice cream. When we inquired about the reason for substitution, the waitress said there was a problem with the fridge and brought us melted ice cream as a side to the dessert. Maybe chef had a bad day too, but we wont be back Vegetarian options: A couple of pizzas are meatless, and there is a selection of salads

Cons: The hostess stand was disorganized. They allowed another group to cut in front of my husband and me and seated them even though the group arrived after us. The waiter did not check on us often enough. The venison chili was not flavorful. Neither were the Brussels sprouts. The smoky peach cocktail tasted like dirty water. Pros: The food and drinks came quickly. The different bruschetta options were wonderful.

The outside has heaters so it wasn t too cold. They have a great selection of wine and food options. We had the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer and were super impressed. Probably some of the best that we have had. Pizza and pasta were also on point!

Actually one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We were sat 40 minutes AFTER our reservation time. Was told there s a bit of a wait even though we made the reservations a week in advance. Hostess took us to our seats and bolted out of embarrassment. Didn t get silverware or menus. Told the waitress once we were finally seated and she simply responded oh. After the waitress took our food order, we asked to keep a drink menu and she THREW the menu on the table. Not a single thing was comped at the end. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the food came out fast, as it should an hour after we were suppose to eat.

The Grove was really quite affordable, yummy, and had tons of options. Family was in town and we are all picky eaters in different ways - there was an option for everyone here that we were excited about. We ate indoors and thought it looked super nice and modern, but it seems like the back patio is great as well. For being downtown, right on 6th street, it somehow looks like youre in the midst of a forest with tons of trees and greenery.

Ive been to this location before, but its been about a year since Ive dined here. My husband and I visited for dinner one evening this past week. He ordered the shrimp & sausage fettuccine. It lacked flavor and was quite fishy tasting. Overall, we felt the food was underwhelming and was not justified by the total amount paid. Additionally, there were not many patrons dining at the time we visited. I will note that the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Perhaps we dined on an off night.

My first visit to The Grove yesterday was amazing! The cocktails were fresh and delicious! I tried the Lavender Lemonade, Summer Rita, and Strawberry Refresher, all wonderful! The food was just as great! I had the Ahi Tuna Salad with extra ponzu sauce (I love salt). It was so yummy it s my fav salad of all time! My hubby had the forbidden rice bowl and added steak. He loved it and I thought it was yummy too! Both were huge helpings! We also tried the fried oysters on their house made potato chips. It was a flavorful and light appetizer. This will be our Austin date night spot from now on! Scottie was our bartender, and wonderful! He was friendly, professional, provided excellent service as well as all the staff. The atmosphere was calm, chill with warm lighting. The music was low enough for having conversations. It was very clean. Can t wait to go back! Vegetarian options: Lots of yummy options! Dietary restrictions: They have lots of gluten free options! Scottie told me even the fried oysters can be gluten free because they have a separate fryer for no-gluten!

We were here last night for dinner. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The bruschetta was great and the wine selection is fabulous. However, the mains and dessert were so disappointing. The Halibut was so tasteless (had no salt too), and the Thai green curry that it was paired with was an absolute mismatch. The creme brule that we ordered had a very hard sugar layer that was hard as ice and the custard/creme layer below was thick like jello and not soft. What a disaster! Even Whole Foods makes a better creme brulee. We were so disappointed since we came for my birthday celebration and specifically chose this place based on its reviews. I honestly feel a bit cheated for our money just based on the creme brulee.

Ordered on the 4th of July online and they took my money and everything and i go to pick it up and they were closed. My 5 year old sister could run a restaurant better than the manager here. Manager should be fired.

Was so excited to come here for brunch with friends from out of town and was let down by the food and drink quality. The avocado toast was so sad. I m used to Austin having top quality avocado toast but this was like a piece of wal mart bread with just smashed avocado put on top. Didn t even have salt!! I could have made better at home. And the mimosas didn t have fresh squeezed juice. So many other good brunch spots to go in ATX, I would skip here

One of the best restaurants in Austin! Incredible food & drink options. Our server, Derek, was the best server I ve had in Austin! Huge kudos to him. Attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Plenty of room at The Grove and it s never overly crowded. 12/10 recommend The Grove and asking for Derek!

Our server was completely inattentive and slow. She took forever to take our food order, she only checked on us one time after our food arrived. We had to hunt her down to get the check, which she dropped off and immediately left even though we were ready to pay. Then we had to track her down again to take the payment - we couldn t find her so we had to grab another person to take our money. It was wildly annoying. The food was mediocre outside of the bacon avocado bruschetta. The Mediterranean pizza was so oily, way too heavy on the toppings. And their chopped salad was absolutely not chopped. If you re going to have a chopped salad on the menu, it shouldn t come with whole leaves of lettuce. It should be chopped. Wouldn t recommend trying this place. You d be better off grabbing pizza down the road.

Yesterday evening my husband and I went to The Grove for the first time. The waitress took is to an outside table and we noticed the afternoon sun would hit that table soon. We mentioned that to the waitress and she said she could put a curtain down and walked away. It was early and the entire outside was empty except for one table. We noticed an empty table in total shade and as the waitress was walking past us we asked if we could sit at that table (we were still standing up) and she loudly replied I WOULD RATHER YOU DIDN T . Needless to say, we walked out of the place. They might have good food, but with unfriendly staff like that, who wants to eat there? Thanks for ruining our day Miss whoever you were!

Overall, it was an OK experience. The standout were the bruschette - I didnt have any wine but I loved the great selection of wine flights with three different glasses each and therefore would recommend this place for anyone looking for wine and something to nibble on. I unfortunately came for a full meal and didnt like it too much - the food was very, very oily (I had to get something against my upset stomach afterwards) and the taste just OK.

By far the worst food I ve ever tasted. I messed up by first coming here. Secondly, by ordering the barbecue pizza, and the only reason I did that it s because the whole menu looked mediocre. The only way this food will ever be good is if you were drunk though.. if I could give it zero stars I would. Totally not worth the 80$ for cooked bruschetta,a card board pizza with 2 tasteless drinks. The bartender was also not very friendly, she tried..but her negativity was showing off. Anywho, I m probably going to fast for 2 days after eating here.

Ambiance is good, but the food was terrible. Overpriced and not so tasty. We got the shrimp and brussel sprouts appetizer. There were like 5 shrimps for $15. Mine main plate was the chicken sandwich as recommended by the server as amazing. I was amazed how bad it was . It was so oily and not very good at all.

Unfortunately a horrible experience. Called to arrange a reservation before traveling to Austin. and showed up just to be greeted with negative service and no sign of our reservation. Confirmed it was the correct location and still were just given such poor mannered responses.

We waited too long to be greeted. We were shown a table way at the back next to a very loud party. The music was too loud. We waited too long for our waitress to come to our table. She brought bottled water but no glass. We asked to be moved and to turn down music. We ordered and the food was good! We did not request separate checks at the beginning of the evening as is the protocal, I suppose. When our waitress asked about paying, she mentioned splitting (in half). She did not mention separate checks as an option, and I would have appreciated that option. I do not think I will return. I just want a more skillful staff, especially for an expensive meal. Thanks.

If you want the Grove, maybe go to one of the other locations. Food was good, service was weird. Our waitress was attentive, our cups always stayed filled, and our food came out promptly and correctly. We tried ordering a bottle of wine off the menu only to be told they only had 3 left and had to save them for flights. At the end of the meal, we asked for a to-go container for our pizza and they told us they were out of the pizza boxes. They did provide us with a little plastic container that the pizza kinda fit in. Overall, Id save the hassle of trying to go downtown and just go to one of the other locations.
