It s a risk parking at the place due to break ins, one of the vehicles next to mine was broken into. But the hiking trail in itself was beautiful. Of course it has ups and downs so shoes highly recommended. It was a very hot day the day we went and I recommend you take a backpack with waters and whatever else your taking. It was a beautiful place once we got to the second waterfall because the first one was dry.

Great place to hike and swim so much fun until I came out to leave and my car was broke into, they broke my glass. Don t park anywhere around this place the criminals know that you will be away from your car for hours. Call to make a report nothing came of it. I have to pay out of pocket to fix the damage. If you park your car here you will get broken into.

No water here today, it was completely dry, decided to turn around from here back as we didn t want to continue hiking in case the Sculpture Falls were dry as well, also there are no signs on the trail to guide you where you are going, you could potentially get lost or end up elsewhere and not back at the parking lot, I would recommend staying towards your right when you first start and stay towards your left coming back

This is one of my favorite trails to hike in Austin. Dont listen to the reviews of the people complaining about there being no water. They dont understand how summers are around here and what they do to our water sources. I wouldnt say that the trails arent family friendly, but I wouldnt suggest bringing a new born or a baby out here. The trails do get a little tight and the terrain gets a bit rough here and there. Make sure you bring plenty of water especially right now with the heat the way it is. Also dont wear heavy clothing. Youre gonna regret having to hike back up in your designer jeans. Also break ins do happen but Ive maybe seen like 3 broken windows in the last 2 years.

Beautiful spot. Easy hike for the kids. Great swimming. This was the kids favorite spot on our trip. Our car window and the car next to us were smashed in when we got back. Don t leave valuables in the car. One year later I changed mine to 4 stars because the second time we came out we still saw shattered windows when we came back out. We met someone coming out of the trail that said the water was dried up due to the drought and within 5 minutes of walking for a bit, hearing that, and turning around back to the car, windows were smashed. Someone said the saw them running back into the woods. Our windows weren t smashed this time, but this seems this is a common occurrence. There s a police camera there now but that didn t make a difference.

We love this hike to Twin Falls! We arrived on a Tuesday morning at 10:30 and parked easily along Mopac service road. The hike is mostly shady, flat, pretty rocky (not stroller friendly) and we saw lizards and cool insects. Unfortunately, there is not a single drop of water in the creek or at the falls, so we couldnt jump in to cool off like we normally do. The kids still had fun scrambling over the big rocks in the creekbed though.

No water in sight 4/22/23. Lots of people around. Trails were not marked in anyway, seems like there used to be some signs but were never replaced. Easy enough to follow the well-trodden paths, but after about a mile we turned around - trail can be rocky and uneven. Did see lots of salamanders. We didnt see any freshly broken car windows, but definitely plenty of broken glass in the car park as others have said.

Great trail. Not a curated trail with purposely smoothed areas, and it can get a little tight at times as groups pass by in opposite directions, but the uneven terrain is never laborious. I have 2 medium sized dogs and they traveled without issue. While the trail is more or less a straight line following the creek, there is plenty of interesting distractions on the sides to keep it from ever feeling drab. Took my kids (each around 10), and they didnt have any trouble hiking it either, and loved the varied geography. Only downside is parking can fill up and stretch pretty far down the on ramp leading to the trailhead.

Definitely not a fall (let alone falls) at this point in time. Sculpture Falls was also dry as a bone. Im hoping to check it out with some friends on my next visit to Austin, and maybe then it will actually be worthy of the term falls.

This is a great hike... I actually like hiking here. Theres a lot of uphill and downhill or you can take the other trail thats more flat. The reason I give this trail only 3 is because safety. I would not recommend doing this trail alone, especially if its not during peak times (10-5) on weekends. A lot of cars VISIBLY get broken into here. There was nothing but shattered glass throughout the entire parking area. Just be careful. There are PLENTY of other places you can hike or walk a trail and feel safe and know your belongings arent likely to get stolen or even come back to a broken window.

So I was actually really excited about coming to swim and hike here BUT we never got to. When we arrive and parked we were amazed at the glass littering the parking lot. It s not an exaggeration to say that in every single spot you could park there was glass in some quantity. Well we got online to check review to ensure we would find water on the hike (and later heard that the drought had dried it up pretty well) and to see what all the glass was about. Peoples reviews confirmed our fears about people breaking into cars and we left, deciding not to risk it. As we were driving away, we passed a man walking along the highway and away from the parking lot carrying a woman s purse. We made a judgment call and felt we should err on the side of caution and call the cops so they could investigate a little further. We never found out what happened but it certainly spooked us. I think it s best to caution people about coming to this trailhead.

Our friend s car window was smashed in and contents of the car including a purse were taken while we hiked. Called the police, apparently this is very common. This is verified by the various piles of broken window glass along the side of the road where cars parked. Scumbags are everywhere, I suppose, but they ve made this a steady trap for unsuspecting outdoor enthusiasts. The hike itself is great, but find another place to park to enjoy it.

The hike down to the water was nicely shaded for the most part. Quite a few people at the main falls but walking on up the trail a ways it was sparsely populated. There was a rope swing and some small rapids/falls where we stopped for a swim. Refreshing on a 100F summer day.

Love everything about this hike! There are always a lot of people here but all just having fun in the water. Find a place to sit in the creek along the way or hike however long you want. The trails are not too steep but some places you might need a little traction. Always enjoy going here by myself or with friends and it never disappoints. Also: it can be very hot in the summer of course so definitely bring a swim suit so you can cool off.
