Dont let the outside fool you. Although its not fancy or updated looking this place is well worth the stop. The staff was exceptionally accomodating and friendly. The service and food was great! We sat at the hibachi grill and had a mix of shrimp, steak, chicken fried rice, vegetables, sushi rolls, shrimp tempura roll, and even the fried tempura ice cream. Kid-friendliness: The hibachi chef was very funny and entertaining. Kept the kids as well as the adults laughing!

It was wonderful. Helped me feel like I was closer to home. We had a large party, they nailed it. Every detail, including the most important of all, they all are delightful kind people. I watched each interaction as I could with our guests, the staff nailed it. I wanted to make sure each of the guests were pleased and perhaps smiling. The only thing I said the whole night to the staff was my gratitude. What a great team.

We have been here so many times after a lake day and even make the drive here on weekdays. We love the staff, especially Alex. Our favorites are the Filet Mignon roll with spicy crab inside, Spicy Susan and Mouth on Fire rolls.

Overall, We enjoyed ourselves... there was some service issues and definitely lots of room for improvement. But there were apologies made and steps taken to ensure that our experience was good overall. The kids loved the hibachi presentation, the food, and the Mochi ice cream. I will definitely come back. Kid-friendliness: I went with my 3 kids, all under 10, by myself. They loved it! The prices and portions were good.

We decided on Nagoya after seeing positive reviews but unfortunately we did not have a positive experience. We had 8 people in our party and were seated immediately. However it was very hot in the restaurant and we waited over an hour to order. All of our bills were much higher than expected but we were rushed to pay and are not sure what the extra charges were (that is a little on us for not being more forceful about seeing the bill). The food was not good. Was overcooked and dry. I ve had hibachi plenty of times and this was by far the worst I ve ever had. The service was not good. We waited too long for refills and were rarely checked on. We definitely will not be back.

Excellent hibachi! The sushi was also amazing. Good compromise for the wife and I to have steak and sushi of such good quality in one place. Kid-friendliness: I think every kid should see Hibachi at some point early on. Its fun to watch someone play with your food and cook it right in front of you

Hibachi service was good, but my scallops were somewhat overcooked. The noodles were good. Luck of the draw as far as who youre sat with if you dont come with a full table sized party. But we enjoyed our table mates. Overall a good experience.

Terrible customer service. Waited for one hour at the table before cooking started. Took 20 minutes to offer us menus and drinks. I would never return to this restaurant again. Staff were rude when asked about wait/service. Place was also very hot. AC was not working well.

This place is just a good time. The food is great, service is good, chefs are entertaining. The only thing is they do not have free refills. They give you cans and glass of ice. You have limited space at the hibachi grill so the cans take up space if your server is not on it.

Came here for a happy hour late lunch. I can recommend it, nice happy hour menu with $5 on apps and sushi, and $10 for some of their special rolls, and best of all, $4 hot sake. I got the yakitori and spicy tuna roll. The sauce on the yakitori was great but the chicken was dry. The spicy tuna roll was average, a bit bland. But still, Id come back for this happy hour for sure!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place! The food tastes great, the ambiance is homey and relaxing, nothing superficial, and overall, the place is clean - which is really important for something like food We decided to sit at the Hibachi table and get the Dinner for 2, which is a combination of steak, chicken, and shrimp for the protein... and yes! I can truly say that we made the right choice! My boyfriend even cleaned his plate, nothing wasted! It was that good. Its definitely a good place to come back to for hibachi and maybe even sushi next time!

This is honestly one of my favorite places to eat at. I want to give it a 5 star for food. However, its a hit or miss. One day my food is excellent the next its mediocre. The atmosphere is a 3 because its not very fancy and you can tell this was an old restaurant that was redone with minimal investment. This isnt a dig to the restaurant... you ABSOLUTELY eat here. My partner brought home a Lobster Roll and it still had lobster shell hidden under the coating it was fried in. It was not an insignificant amount either; Its 2 sections of the tail fins and part of the shell they attach to. I almost chipped a tooth biting into it. If the shell/tail was left as decoration that would be one thing, but it was completely covered in breading. Im debating whether its worth the risk to eat the rest.

About a 30 minute wait which was fine but then we waited at our table for an hour for the chef to come out. Our poor kids were hungry and tired. We had no clue there would be an additional wait. Otherwise we would not have stayed. Bar tender was really nice and brought crayons to the kids when we were waiting for the initial 30 mins. I will never come back here. Everything was fine, but when we paid the meal, the waiter started to complain about the tip amout to another waiter right in front of us in a very rude and entitled manner. He did it loudly, and since we were the only ones left, no doubt it was about us. I might of understood if the about was truly low, but for the check amout and the service we experienced, the tip accurately reflected that. This is not the first instance that same waiter has complained about tip amount. There have been about 3 previous instances, but this was just unnecessary. It embarrassed me and my family.

Hibachi lunch was excellent prepared by chef. Scallops oh so tiny but pack a powerful flavor. Salmon was delicious. Honestly thought would be dry (fish, ya know) BUT it was cooked perfectly! Others had steak, chicken, pasta, rice all said was excellent. I only missed my second part of the double-portion vegetable I ordered (instead of rice or pasta) and no treat (dessert) at end of meal. I did try telling chef veggies but its hard to hear over the fan I suppose. Waiter was perfect. He wrote everything down as it did appear on my ticket. Appreciated the waiters description of some of the menu and also ability to pay cash and get a paper receipt!

It had been several years since we had come to Nagoya and it didnt disappoint. Just as great as we had remembered it. We were there on a busy night over the holidays and we had a bit of a wait before the cook came to our spot to cook but once he was there he cooked several of our meals in a very short time. Not only that but he was very friendly and did a great job with an entertaining experience. If Im looking for a negative,I would say the shrimp was slightly over-cooked but really it was nothing to hold back on a review for. It tasted fantastic, honestly. Nagoya Steak and Sushi restaurant was better than our expectations. My wife and I stopped by for their Hibachi grill lunch between noon and 1:00 PM. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is average and nothing to write home about. However, what the placed lacked in the building it made up for with friendly courteous staff who was prompt with service and served delicious food. My wife and I picked this place because the Kobe steakhouse had the same ratings but was more expensive. We both has the Hibachi filet with fried rice, house salad with Ginger dressing and soup. The prices were good for the area. The young man who cooked our food was one of their newer chefs. He was still practicing his utensil tricks, but I really enjoyed his personable and charming personality. This is a trait often lost in the restaurant business. The young chef explained his process while at the restaurant and how much he enjoyed cooking for other people. Instead of simply doing what a chef always does, he specifically asked my wife how we liked our rice and vegetables cooked, not just the steak. He applied past experience to improve the service to his customers. I made a comment to the young lady that I drank a lot of tea. She took the hint and always kept my glass filled. The other waiters also kept the table clean of meal waste and empty dishes. If you live in the area or are passing through I highly recommend giving Nagoya Steak and Sushi a try. Its not frilly but the staff make it a warm and enjoyable meal experience.

We had to pay to much just to eat for a family of four, the food gave me diarrhea and made me vomit. I could not sleep because of it, the soups tasted microwaved!!

Food is decent but the teppen grill guy put way too much salt on everything. Aside from that, the highlight was our server Tori (sp?), She was fantastic the entire time we were there for dinner.

My husband and I came for hibachi at 9:15, they don t close until 10:30 so we didn t feel bad about the timing. Everyone was very nice, we hadn t eaten all day so started with a yellowtail sushi roll which was amazing and the gyoza which was also good. We were the only ones at our hibachi table. The chef was nice and funny, however the rice was lacking flavor/soy sauce so I had to mix in my own which doesn t taste the same as it would had he prepared it right. He was rushing. I got the filet, medium rare. He left and I tasted it, it was rare. No sear on the outside since he was rushing. I asked them to cook it longer, came out worse. Not seasoned, not seared. Will probably come back for sushi.

One of the best teppanyaki restaurants in the area for the best price, my family has dined here for about 5 years for special occasions and have not been dissatisfied. The portions are large, the staff is speedy, and the chefs can certainly entertain as youd expect from this type of experience. You will not be disappointed by their lunch either with a good selection of bento boxes and their incredibly priced lunch specials. Will be coming here for many more birthdays!

Very good food. Amazing atmosphere, however our hibachi chef was very rude to one of the couples at our table and it put me in a very uncomfortable mood the rest of the night. Our server was wonderful. dont let this stop you from trying this restaurant, we will be back Im just not happy with our chefs customer service.

This was my first experience with this type of restaurant and I was anxious to share the experience with a group of my family members. I expected more of an upscale experience but was disappointed when we walked in to a dingy dining room that is in need of a face-lift. The staff is pleasant and we were warmly greeted and served well. The food quality of the chicken and scallops prepared in front of our party was second rate and the presentation seemed tired and over rehearsed for the cost of the meal.

Charming waiter, entertaining cook, great food. Waiter kept a stuffed animal to comfort/distract my daughter when the fire scared her, so sweet! We had the Nagoya dinner for 2, the kids meal and the Texan roll with a Simi cab - a meal I would do again next week. Kid-friendliness: Waiter kept a stuffed animal for the kids that get scared of the fire, so sweet!

Absolutely wonderful! Our waiter was so attentive and courteous. The hibachi and sushi were impeccable! . and the hibachi chef was so entertaining! We had a spectacular time and will most definitely return for more!
