We chose to go watch the debate last night, and it was the worst ever. They had almost no staff. The poor staff were completely overwhelmed. They left a new chef in the food truck with no supplies no food not even ketchup for french fries running out of food with people getting mad at him when it was not his fault at all. Complete amateur hour who are the owners? Why is there no management? we could have run this event 1000 times better ourselves.

So, it pulls up as dive bar in search. But a dive bar that: 1. Doesn t take cash 2. Two different orders/tabs, one for drinks, another for food. 3. Food is ordered online or walk outside in back to order from food truck. 4. The music was loud dance type music you would hear at a club. Not really a dive bar. Positives. 1. Bartender was nice. She was helpful. 2x Clean environment.

What an incredibly perfect bar. Mix between cool and old; young and sweet; cheap and elevated. Hahaha buzz words. Whatever the bartender was hot and they allow dogs!

I was in town visiting and friend and we decided to check out Skinny s. At first, the atmosphere was greatest , however the guy working was incredibly rude to us and acted as if he couldn t care less we were guests there. It put such a damper on our meal together, so I m not sure I d recommend this place.

Decent vibe in a sub ghetto neighborhood. The smash burger is tops but I d never pay $14 for it. Not sure how you re gonna charge $9 for a local beer on tap but that s a deal breaker , buddy. The food trailer guys have the slacker, broke attitude. Might wanna lower your prices if that s the scene you re attracting

Food was surprisingly cold for how long it took to get it. Photo is supposed to be a double order of mini corn dogs. Can t imagine how small a single order would be. Got a bucket of beer. First one was warm. Glad the rest were in ice. Small indoor space with a really long line for the bar. Not their fault but everyone one that passé by our table put their hand on it as they passed. So gross to me. Don t touch my table. The tv at the table was really far behind the bigger screens which always drives me nuts. Fun atmosphere but definitely not my favorite place. Side note- I did not go outside at all. Seems like that might be the better option but it s a chilly day.

One of my favorite bars on the east side that truly transports you back to your grandmas house in the 70 s with the interior decor. Amazing cocktails, amazing food, and such a large patio that s great for watching sports and hanging with a large group of friends. Easily THE BEST happy hour in Austin, can t beat $3 wells.

Order two simple drinks, common drinks. The male bartender needed more experience. I took them back after two sips. The female bartender was excellent. I tip her pretty good The lines can be long at the bar when trying to order. Food from the food truck was excellent. Again, the male cook social skills could improve. The female cook got some extra tips from me because her social skills and food her was good. She went of her way to help the people with me. The atmosphere is great for sports.

Cool sports bar. Cook that was doing the food was pretty rude and didn t care about what they was doing much. Wings were over cooked and the sauce just lazily poured over. No ranch or blue cheese sauce available. Corn dogs over cooked. Bar tenders were great, just disappointed in the food.

Skinny s is a fun relaxed sports focused bar. But don t let that fool you into not going because all kinds of people frequent this establishment not just only sports fans (although, they will appreciate the live televised sports games). I just hope both teams have fun. But that s exactly what I had at Skinny s FUN! It has a throw back 70s themed decor. It is fun. Very popular among the younger crowd but by no means limited to the Gen Zs. Everyone is welcome at Skinny s great food truck out back (which means no kitchen inside and your pooch can accompany you inside the bar !). Spent the Fourth of July enjoying free hotdogs and wonderful beers. They also had a themed Rocket Pop cocktail. Very fun and attentive place with nice and welcoming people. Go check it out. Smash burger is too notch!

It is definitely unique and a spot to check out. Unsure if I d come back now that it s crossed off my list though. The bartender was awkward and the men in the food truck were not nice at all. Told us to order food through the app and slammed the sliding door you pick up the food from. He seemed annoyed at us? I saw some other employees walking around who just looked like in a grumpy mood. The atmosphere the staff puts out means a lot but it was overall a cool concept.

This might be my new favorite bar. Retro 70s look inside. Big outside area with a large TV playing sports. You can smoke outside. Beer selection is only OK, but good enough. One small issue is that they need the internet to reach outside so I can work here in the afternoons! Smash burger was great. Not basket of fries. Both were $5.

I brought two friends from out of town here to celebrate one of their birthdays. A staff member was yelling and causing a scene at the bar before getting physical with a customer, throwing them out of the building and fighting them in the street. The police and EMS arrived shortly after. Im absolutely mortified I brought my friends here. Ive lived on the east side for years and have never had this experience at a bar; Skinnys feels so out of place with its hostile environment and lack of a friendly, neighborhood feel. Theres no way this bar will last in this neighborhood... maybe over on dirty six, though. Two stars only because the interior was nice and the drinks werent bad.

Food was good, but def feels like we got cheated out of qty. we ordered an order of cheese curds and mini corn dogs to go. Got home and there were plenty of curds, but literally only 5 mini corn dogs. And two of those were like micro sized. The orders we saw coming out while we waited seemed far more than 5. But again, they were tasty!

Neighborhood gem... slinging juicy double smash burgers on Martins potato rolls (add jalapenos... yaaas). Thank you, Jordan. French fries (remind us of McDonalds, but better). These are so good, we havent even tapped into the rest of the menu items yet. Fave cocktails: Los Altos with spicy oils and the Rickey with gin. Awesome outdoor space too. Thank you to Ian, Amber and team... cheers to good times ahead.

Skinnys Off Track Bar is just what East Austin needed. Hell, its what Austin as a whole needed. I ve been telling people that this bar manages to do the impossible. Skinnys feels like a Midwestern sports bar, but in Austin. It reminds me of the bars I grew up going to in the Midwest but with the flavor of east Austin. The people are great, the selection of sports are fantastic, the menu feels nostalgic and is delicious. If youre living in Austin this place is a must go for catching some games. Im so excited to visit many, many more times.

With its vintage 70 s look, comforting cocktails and friendly service, Skinny s offers something of a retrospective on sports bars decades past. And with the option to put whatever game you want on (in the booths) Skinny s offers something for everyone. The bar staff have an impeccable pedigree and are some of the best in town so stop on in y all!
