It was time to find a new place for date nights and I have been thinking about trying out Jack Allens for a while. I usually try out new places on my own. Before taking Anuya there. The rustic ambiance is something I like a lot and I found theirs very nice. It wasnt a busy night and the service was very prompt too. I got a gin cocktail and the crab stuffed chicken. They also got me a complementary pimento cheese and cracks app. The food was really good and the cocktail was well made too. The Cajun cream sauce that came with the chicken was addictive. I got a bunch of extra on aide and finaished it all. Definitely going back again.

Went for special Labor Day brunch. Ordered a chorizo & egg special dish, very disappointed. Menu mentioned pico de gallo but none was served. There was a meat-like material mixed with the scrambled eggs, but it was NOT chorizo: it had no flavor of any kind, no chorizo aroma, no chorizo color.

They handled our party of 12 remarkably well. Drinks were never half full. And kudos to a staff that can deliver food to a table and put the food in front of the person who ordered it without auctioning off the food. This is a lost art in the modern restaurant and this place did it perfectly. Nachos are more of a dinner than an appetizer, and they were layered in such a way you got everything in every bite instead of only the top layer of chips like a lot of other places do.

Probably more of a three and a half. I wanted to LOVE this place but almost everything we ate was just ok. The chicken fried chicken was good, but not amazing. I slightly prefer it at Cover 3, Kerbey Lane, AND Texas Roadhouse. The Mac and cheese and chicken was pretty bland. The Mac in particular had little taste unless eaten with the chicken. We LOVED the blondie though, so much that we gave the restaurant another try a week later. We didnt like the potato soup that wasnt at all creamy, but more like a liquid soup with potatoes in it (I realize many people like that kind of thing, but I prefer a half and half soup with potatoes blended in, thank you.) the catfish was ok--again a little bland but better with the tartar sauce. The 13 spice chicken pasta managed to be a bit bland even while being spicy. I wouldnt have thought it possible. But again, the blondie was delicious. The service was great both times. We actually were sad when we admitted to each other later that we dont much like the food and will probably only go back for dessert.

Everything went wrong in our visit. Two meals were wrong items and one was made incorrectly. Waitress was nice but not very attentive. Even though we had to wait as meals were redone and some people finished before others could even start we were hit with a full bill and nobody even asked us about our service or food. Bummer.

I have been to there sister restaurant Salt Traders many times but this was my first time at Jack Allens and it was definitely as delicious as everyone has told me. I love the flavor profiles and combinations. I like the way they fuse Texas flavors like barbacoa and fried green tomatoes.

Food looks good, but lacks salt and/or seasoning. I dont cook with much salt but I had to add salt and pepper on everything I ate accept the pimento cheese, it was good. I had the guacamole, and chicken pesto crab stuffed chicken. I tried my co workers mac in cheese and it lacked seasoning in my opinion. I went for a group work Christmas lunch. We had to vote on where to go and this is the restaurant that won. It was not my 1st choice since we went last year. I personally would not recommend.

Excellent dinner at Jack Allens with my friend. Amazing Barbacoa Tostada appetizer. ( Could have ordered two of these and called it dinner!). But we ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and salad with pear, goat cheese and walnuts. Both were incredibly delicious. Would order both again. Cant wait to return and try more of the menu! Jack Allens is a new favorite local restaurant and bar! Ive had amazing experiences here. The atmosphere is lively yet laidback, with a spacious indoor dining room and a beautiful outdoor patio area. As soon as I sat down, the server brought over the restaurants signature Old Fashioned cocktail. It was perfectly balanced and got my meal off to a delicious start. For my entree, I ordered the barbacoa stackers, which came highly recommended by my server. The tender pulled barbacoa was piled high on hard flour tortillas. Every bite was packed with smoky, savory flavor. The portion was very generous, but I happily cleaned my plate. From the drinks to the food to the friendly service, everything at Jack Allens exceeded my expectations.

Definitely recommend this place over and over again Both the pork medallions and the braised beef barbacoa enchiladas were delicious as well as their version of guacamole with pumpkin seeds in it. Not much for their special pimento cheese but everyone else loved it. The gluten free chips were really good. One of the best places off the beatend. tract. Once you are there the atmosphere encapsulates the aroma of good food. The salads are large and filling. The entrees are robust and made to your desired. Sides and adds are plentiful. This is a good place to meet, eat, and have fun with friends.

Incredibly attentative staff! I was there for lunch and had made reservations (on a Friday, so reservations are recommended). Ordered the cheeseburger, medium rare. It was prepared perfectly. Our waitress could not have been more pleasant but nearly every waiter and waitress who passed by our table paused to make certain we were in need of anything. I wish all restaurants had such excellent staff.

My husband and I had dinner here. We tried the chicken nachitos, the crispy fried catfish and slaw, and the chicken fried New York strip. For dessert had the blondie brownie pie. The food was all delicious. The chicken for the nachos was seasoned well. My husband said his catfish was crunchy, and the sauce gave it a good taste. The country fried steak was juicy and crunchy. It had the right amount of batter and was fried to perfection. The green chili gravy has the right amount of spice for me because I am not a fan of spicy foods. The brownie was a bit too sweet for me, but my husband ate it. Overall, it was great.
