Have visited this location 2 times and both were great! Smaller indoor dining area with cute counter seating that overlooks the chef. Very up close & personal, but still casual. Outdoor seating options are also nice - staff brought food & drinks right to your table. Theres a walk up window to grab stuff quickly which was great to get another drink. Great staff - very nice and attentive. Love the vibes of this location overall!

Tasty but pricey! 4.5 stars rounded up. Great service and charming ambience, sitting indoors at the bar counter in the air conditioning. We walked over after some shopping at REI and it was the best treat. There also happened to be a little pop-up with the chef from Bacalar preparing some other menu items. We tried the oysters and they were delightful! The hardest decision is always whether to get the Connecticut or the Maine role - a good solution is to go with someone and get both and share. My partner is diabetic and cant eat bread and even remembered to take the croutons off of his side salad. The key lime pie is to die for!

Service on 7/16/24 Server was such a cool dude & the cook, she put in that work on the amazing food, thank you. Parking: Parking is pretty small but either across the street or towards the back of the restaurant.

I found this place to be extremely mid. My Caesar salad tasted like something you get at the local public pool, I just expected them to put some effort into it. Also, the chips are from a bag? I sort of expected them to be homemade, if they re trying to match the New England lobster role vibe.

Perfectly prepared lobster. Great service. The price and the location are interesting I just want to feel a little more luxurious at the price point being charged. I can go right down the street to Clark s for comparable prices and selection (maybe a lil more but they are not far off each other) but you get full amazing service there. This feels like it is trying for what Birdie s nails. I just wish I had full service or felt like the flow of service hit at a high level. If this was like $5 cheaper for my lobster I think it would have nailed the experience and price. The loud high volume nonstop traffic was very much present. *they do not have the bisque at this location* It just didn t feel like the fine dining price tag it carries. Vegetarian options: Not really. Maybe a super basic salad Dietary restrictions: Great for paleo, keto, and gluten free. Moderate chance of cross contamination Parking: Parking is behind building. Kid-friendliness: If they like lobster they will love this. Wheelchair accessibility: Not great. A very old parking lot. A hard to navigate walking path. Narrow interior with high counter to eat at. All other seating is in grassy or rocky areas.

I was really excited to try this place. It has a lovely vibe and cool outdoor space. The woman in charge seemed kind but stressed. Perhaps she was understaffed and that was what was going on. the lobster was overcooked. Rubbery & chewy. The classic lobster cooking mistake. Also flavorless needed seasoning, salt pepper, garlic, chives, whatever. When you are spending after tax and tip, almost $40 on this, it needs to be done right. When it s your specialty, it needs to be done right. I wish I had tried something else .. spent much time in New England & Maine eating lobster rolls. Perhaps this was just a bad day. Lastly, the seats inside are the most uncomfortable barstools . really want to support a local biz, but there are some kinks that should be worked out.

Saw all of the recommendations so being from Iowa, an opportunity for lobster is always a welcome one! The place is tiny, like a little diner with a counter and 8-10 bar stools. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I went on a Monday and got the special of the day which was Mini Lobster Roll night and that included Maine, CT, and Truffle Butter lobster rolls with a side (I got the Caesar salad). I also got a slice of the key lime pie to go, which was absolutely delicious and as good as any I ve had in the Florida Keys! Great experience, overall. If you go to the one on Lamar, make sure you tell them that the lady from Iowa recommended them!

I found this restaurant on Eater. I was in the mood for a soup and this seemed like the best option. I started off with the lobster bisque. It had an ample amount of lobster meat and a delicious flavor. It was creamy and filling. At first I was disappointed to have the soup paired with crackers rather than bread. However, once I started eating, I was satisfied. The added texture of the crackers with the smooth liquid and tender lobster was perfect. I decided to try the frozen lemonade after I finished the bisque. I could have ended my meal here but I knew I needed more because of my evening activities. I later saw a mini lobster roll on the menu. I ordered it. Luckily, it also came with a good-sized side salad. I selected the Connecticut version of the lobster roll. My server did recommend the Maine option even though I didn t select it. Everything was delicious. I would like to visit again and try the Maine roll and a dessert. Oh! I also saw a beer on the menu I would like to try too. My server was attentive and thoughtful. The cook/chef was well-skilled. A spot at the bar opened up just as I arrived. This location is small and has limited seating. However, there are options to sit outside. It was raining off-and-on today so sitting outside was not an option. I would recommend this restaurant and would eat here again. It is on the more expensive side but you do get good quality lobster. I hope you enjoy your meal here as much as I did. Parking: Limited parking available beside restaurant.

Order a dells lemonade if you want to relive the drive down 114 to Colt State Park. I didn t ask but since the Garbos are so cool I assume they know where Aquidneck is IYKYK

It just reinforces what a cool place it is. My favorite on the menu has always been the Connecticut style lobster rolls, but Im glad I went with the fried cod special this last time, it was the best lunch I had all week. Filling and delicious, dont know what else you could ask for from a downtown dining spot. It even had a decent amount of parking spots considering the downtown location. Dont miss it

I ve been eating Garbos for almost 10 years and was thrilled to hear they were opening a south location near me. The Connecticut lobster roll with poached butter is my favorite bite in Austin. And the traditional Maine roll is definitely the best cold lobster roll I ve ever had. The smoked fish dip appetizer with their hot sauce is a must-try and don t sleep on their key lime pie and whoopie pie. Although the Lamar location has a smaller menu, there s still a bunch of different sandwich, salad and app options. And caviar! Also, try their sparkling red and white wine options - they pair perfectly with anything on the menu. You really can t go wrong with anything here. Love supporting the Garbos sisters and their incredible restaurants. Thank you for bringing such amazing seafood to ATX!

I understand it s lobster therefore going to be on the pricier side, but $112 for 2 lobster rolls and a spicy crab roll that only come with a tiny bag of chips or side salad blows my mind. I don t think I m able to justify coming back at that price, no matter how good the food is. At least consider offering a fountain drink or two sides at that price point so people feel like they are getting their money s worth.

Everyone was friendly, and knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. I was especially pleased to see that the restaurant implemented a 10% service charge on all orders to help pay their staff a higher hourly wage due to rising prices.
