Brutal. I got a meal to go and ordered guacamole and chips and these people put spicy salsa Verde in tub! Wth. That s not even a normal mistake. It s really hard to mix up guacamole and spicy salsa. So I essentially paid 8 bucks for nothing because I can t even eat it. I either got scammed or it s about the worst mix up in the history of mix ups. P.S I don t eat anything spicy.

I had lunch here during SXSW. You order at the counter and then choose a table on the patio or inside the restaurant. I would not recommend this place to vegetarians or vegan because the beans contain pork. I tried to order the cactus tacos without the cheese sprinkled on top and was told that during SXSW they only offer all toppings or no toppings , they are not able to accommodate any other modifications because it s so busy. I understand this in general, and maybe they are busier at dinner, but they were not busy at the time we were there and only half the tables were full. So that was strange. My husband says the men s bathroom was (surprisingly) clean!

I recently visited Vaquero Taquero in downtown Austin, Texas, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was vibrant, and the menu offered a variety of tempting options. What truly stood out were the incredible tacos I tried several, but the breakfast taco stole the show! The flavors were fresh, and the ingredients were top-notch, making it a must-try. Moreover, I must commend the outstanding service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy delicious tacos while soaking in the local vibe. If youre a taco enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic dining experience in Austin, Vaquero Taquero is the place to be. Ill definitely be returning for more of those delicious breakfast tacos and the warm hospitality!

Attention !!!! This restaurant takes advantage of your average English to rip you off. We are a family of 8 French people, we only ordered 8 tacos. The waiter brings us 8 plates of 3 tacos, he quickly explains something to us and leaves without us being able to ask him to repeat. When the bill came, he charged us for 24 tacos (8 plates x 3 tacos)!!!! The score is tripled!!!! His response is ready you ate everything, you had to tell me Even the customer next door saw that he was scamming us!!!

Loyal customer but not anymore Food is usually good but on this particular day, I was most certainly unhappy. They need figure out the parking in this location and the customer service or else they will lose a lot of customers. I paid for my food online and I had a set time for it to be ready and picked up. When I get there, The parking at this location is entirely full so I parked directly across the parking lot. You do have to pay to park there but I was only picking up so I didn t think it was a big deal (somewhat my mistake I guess). I walk inside and my food was not ready and the person who made the food didn t bother to give me my food. He just left it behind the counter by the register while I m sitting there standing for them to give me and bag my food. I had to ask someone to bring me my food AGAIN! When they gave me my food, it was cold. When I walk out, MY CAR WAS BOOTED! My car was booted immediately after walking inside this place to pick up (2 minutes to be exact). I have come to this location MANY MANY times to pick up and this is the first time I have experienced this. I m way too upset to come back to this location anymore. Not fair to pay to pick up food due to limited parking. I m pretty sure it was the employees parking there because only two customers were inside.

Best birria quesadillas with pineapple agua fresca. Seat yourself kind of place. Scanned the QR code at the table and ordered/paid straight from our phone. Food was at our table within minutes pipping hot. It was so good the rest of the group ordered as well. Will be back next time I m in town.

Such good tacos. This place has been at this location since September of last year. I came to Austin for the first time and got a lot of recs for taco joints, which only 1/4 was still in business. I loved the cactus tacos. Homemade soft shells (fresh) and great spice. Lots of cilantro. Didnt skimp on the ingredients! And a good margarita too!!!

We stumbled upon their other location on lazy Saturday afternoon when taco deli had a hella long line. Since then, we ve had vaquero in heavy rotation. Always top notch, pretty dang speedy too. The piña agua fresca is one of my faves in the city for something refreshing with the Texan heat. My partner is from San Antonio so we appreciate their tortillas are flavorful and soft. (Corn and flour) Also, it s pretty affordably priced which is saying something in Austin. My only gripe is that they re not open on Sundays cause it s a prime brunch food option but I get it, they have to have a weekend too. Keep it up!

First off, this is a family owned establishment with family recipes. Equally important is the quality - fresh tortillas, pastor al trompo, a selection of flavorful salsas and quesadillas that give you that gooey, string trail of queso when you bite into them. Throw in an agua fresca, beer and/or margarita and youve got an amazing meal to kick off and/or end the night. I will gladly support the Vaquero bros and their passion for keeping authentic Mexican food kicking in Austin. Ive been customer since their truck on Duval and am proud to see them expand...though I must admit, being a loyal supporter is easy when the food is this good.

My absolute favorite tacos in town. I would snack on their plain corn tortillas all day long if I could. And the nopales quesadilla is the best (non-egg) vegetarian taco around, IMHO.

Best tacos in Austin. Loved the old location, but the new one is even better with seating, music, and drinks on tap! Try the special mango-mezcal margarita... Half mango, half mezcal. You wont be disappointed. The quesadillas are incredible with the grilled cheese on fresh made tortillas; al pastor, tinga de pollo, birria, and mushroom (when available) are my favourites. Any friend visiting Austin who wants to try some great tacos, I take here. Also great for a pregame before going bar hopping downtown!

We had the pleasure of playing there at the end of February. Very kind to stop the door for me to lower the battery. At the end of the show, I was going to pay for my tacos and fresh water, and the person who served me was very generous in not charging me. The tacos and drink were excellent. I will definitely return as a client and, if we are invited, as a musician. Greetings .

Cannot get enough of these tacos & quesadillas. Ordering here is tough because everything is SO GOOD! ! I love the nopales quesadilla on corn and the rajas taco on flour for a solid vegetarian situation, but that Al pastor is also something to write home about. Don t sleep on the charro beans! They re perfect!
