Great green oasis in the middle of the city Toilets: Yes, they are also available. Dog-friendliness: Never seen so many dogs playing peacefully together in one place! Picnic area: Lots of space?

A unique rock formation in the yeah middle of Zilker Park. Pretty! A common meeting spot for Zilker. However, if you say youre going to be at rock Island, be specific. On the NE side by the tree, looking towards downtown. If you do not do this, it will be more challenging to find your friend(s).

A nature s paradise! The park is huge with a backdrop full of skyscrapers. It s peaceful and you can feel all the good energy this place gives out. There are parking lots all around, which is nice. Believe they are all pay to park public parking spots. There are trails around, the Lou Neff Point is also close by which one of the trails leads you to. You can smell and feel nature here :) Playground: There is a huge spot with grass where you can run around, play anything. There are also volleyball courts on one side. Dog-friendliness: This place is a very dog-friendly spot. You ll see a lot of folks with their dogs playing and enjoying. There is a trail around the spot as well which also leads to the Lou Neff Point. Picnic area: Excellent spot for a picnic. There are trees all across the place underneath which you can just sit, relax, feel and enjoy the view with family, friends, your dog or just by yourself.

This place is the perfect meeting spot and has activities for children, adults, and pets. It is nearby the sand volleyball courts, there is usually someone playing live music (appropriately), there are multiple sports being played, and the rock itself is fun to explore. It provides great shade from the sun and picnic tables are just next to the rock for convenience. Parking is tough but If you can get there, its a blast! This area is closed during ACL.

A two story outcropping of rock the size of a basketball court in the middle of the Lou Neff Rd Loop inside Zilker Park. This is really what people are referring to when locals say Zilker Park. There is a spectacular view of the downtown skyline from here and everything that is associated with Zilker Park in general is accessible by foot from here: the Botanical Garden, Town Lake, the hike and bike trails, Barton Springs pool, the Zephyr Miniature train ride for kids, Hillside Theater, the disc golf course, boat rentals, picnic areas, the volleyball courts, Deep Eddy park and pool, the green belt, restaurants, festivals... and, yes, a great place to bring dogs. There is a change in elevation of about 20-25 feet from the north side to the south side that makes a nice place to launch things for your dogs to fetch. There is a water fountain for people an d dogs, and there are doggy litter bags supplied by the city. It is also a great place to fly drones.

The natural limestone outcropping known as Rock Island in the center of Zilker Park provides a fun focal point and vantage point any time of year, but in December it provides a panoramic view of the annual Trail of Lights, an Austin holiday tradition.

This is probably the best place in Austin to bring your dog. Large, wide open space to play fetch and let your furry little pal make new friends. This is also a great location for a picnic, so bring your dog, a date, and spend a summer afternoon here. #12daysofchristmasatx

Great place to hang out with some free time. I believe you can see some of down town from the top of the rock. It is in the middle of a leash free area, which i love! Walking distance to town lake. It is definitely packed on nice weekend and if there are festivities going on I try to steer clear.
