My family (me, my spouse, my two 10-year-olds, my mother, and my 20-year-old nephew) had a great time! So why 4 stars and not 5? Because the word Museum in Museum of Ice Cream is misleading. We ate lots of ice cream and had fun playing in the play area; however, we didnt learn anything about ice cream. Museums usually serve educational, cultural, and/or research purposes, and this was my expectation for our first visit. Therefore, if this place were called All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream & Fun, I would have set my expectations, and after the visit that we had, awarded 5 stars.

This place is so nice and super fun for kids and even adults. The staff is absolutely amazing and give great customer service. I think everyone needs to experience this place. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is pretty pricey. Even at cheapest time, it was $30/person after taxes and this is also the price for kids 3 and up. I think that kids prices should be cheaper because they cant even eat that much ice cream. Other than that, it was a great experience and my daughter absolutely loved it! Also, the ice cream is the best that I have ever had in my life!!!

I am lactose intolerant and I LOVED that they offer dairy-free ice creams at each stand. There were 3-4 stands I believe. I understand the availability will be less compare to dairy and I still really appreciate that at least there is . My favorite ice cream was the welcoming sorbet (it has its own picture). You can do the path and then return to check if the spot you want the picture is empty (just don t go pass the gift shop, from that point you have to pay for ice cream). Definitely would recommend to go during the week bc there were SO many kids so it made it difficult for the adults to take some pictures specially in the sprinkle pool. Very fun. Staff very friendly!

Inappropriate images displayed. This is mostly a children s attraction. Ao either there is some sort of agenda being pushed or they just don t care. Secondly, for anyone who wants to know what this place is its not related to a museum in anyway. It s just a place kids get to play and eat ice cream. So if you want to save 140 dollars (for 2 adults and 2 kids) go Buy ice cream and take your kids to the park.

Fun for Photos, But a Bit Short The Museum of Ice Cream in Austin is a colorful and fun spot, perfect for anyone looking to take creative Instagram pictures. The immersive exhibits are full of vibrant, playful displays that make for great photo ops. However, the experience felt a bit short for the $25 price tag, though it s not unreasonable. It s best to visit during less crowded times for a more enjoyable experience. Theres no need for a fancy camera your cell phone will capture everything just fine! Overall, it s a fun stop, especially if you re into creative photoshoots.

Complete waste of money! This place is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. A couple of small, mediocre ice cream samples and a few Instagrammable spots do not justify the ticket price. The exhibits were underwhelming, crowded, and felt more like a gimmick than a museum. I expected more substance, but it was all about photo ops. Save your money and go to a real ice cream shop instead!

You have to purchase tickets off their website before you get there. The staff explained to me that the reason they dont have tickets for children is because this venue is designed for adults. While children are welcome to come and have fun, they will be charged full price. Ridiculous. Its a cute place but you can see everything in 20 minutes. Its a decent place to go for selfies and tiktok dances. Overall, it is not worth the price of admission, in my opinion.

I m a repeat Museum of ice cream attendee previously attending the Miami Location and I will say it s a super cute experience. The pink building is easy to find and when you get there you ll check in. Highly recommend purchasing your tickets before you get there however you can wait until you get there physically but be aware that they don t have an in person ticket counter, you ll scan the QR code with your phone, pay then proceed into the building. When you enter the waiting area, you are greeted by this adorable pink MOI wall and a ice cream specialist will have you create an ice cream themed nickname for your self and give you a run down of the building, set expectations and encourage fun. I think the rooms were so cute and the ice cream options were nice. They even have dairy free Icecream for the lactose intolerant population. Everyone was very kind and sweet. ADULTS, look for the yellow sprinkles at the pool, they collect them at the bar/gift store at the end. Definitely recommend for both adults and children and it s not super expensive which is always a plus. Perfect opportunity to take plenty of pictures as well love this place and definitely want to see other locations!

Really disappointing to see as many broken items in this museum as there are. Not a museum, this is a childrens play land with ice cream scoops for adults. Of the exhibits, whack a mole was broken and not all hits register points. The spinning wheel had been damaged so that it would not properly stop. This is a $15 experience tops if everything was working, to pay $105 for 3 and to have items not function was frankly infuriating. 0 chance of a return unfortunately

I purchased three VIP tickets for myself and 2 of my kids today. For close to $200 bucks I would say the museum is EXTREMELY overpriced. All we got with the VIP tickets was to move to the front of the line, that only had 5 people in it to begin with. I thought the time slots would limit how many people were inside at once but they just piled in as many people as possible. Everything was crowd and the limited exhibits had long lines. The play area is small and no one enforces any rules so it was complete chaos. The sprinkle pool is hyped up but it s very small and pretty much filled with fake play food hotdogs which made it hard to move in and not much fun. Pros- You get several free ice cream samples throughout. All the flavors were delicious and the ice cream was extra creamy. All the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The sweet lady who made our ice cream sundaes was absolutely amazing and was super friendly. We did get lots of cute pics when we were able to get to the exhibits. Overall, it s a fun 1-time experience but I highly recommend not wasting your money on VIP tickets.

We were excited to visit the museum today. Unfortunately, this was a photo op and not a museum. There were a couple of booths to sample ice cream and cotton candy. Other than that there were a couple of plaques (3 maybe?) talking about things like banana splits. We were hoping to learn about the process of making ice cream, ice cream around the world, etc. Instead we were packed in like sardines while we pushed through crowds to sample some Blue Bell. And the cherry on top all this for $160 for two adults and two children.

This place meets the description mentioned but is not worth the 48 usd per head ticket price. Its hard to justify 200usd spent for a family of 4 for some not so great quality ice cream. The place sounds innovative. The interior decor is nice and the ambience is good as well. When you call it the museum of ice cream one will expect to see/taste a variety of ice creams. Unfortunately, that is not the case. They have over just 10 types. All being some kind of cookie, cream, caramel , chocolate. The ice cream lacks flavor. Bluebell ice cream from your regular grocery store is 100 times better than this. It is a touristy spot. Will definitely not be back.

Indoors, so you can shelter from the elements. Very picture friendly if you are on Instagram. Nothing about it is like a museum. There are may be 10 flavors of ice cream to choose from. Good for kids, pretty much useless for anything else.

Great place to go during the hot summer time in Texas. Purchased tickets online and check in was smooth. We waited in line with others but didnt know if it was the right spot since extrance is also by where you exit. They had tent setup and a big fan which was really considerate. We had two tour guides, one was there to greet us and hold the door open for us and had a quick games about history of ice cream. The second tour guide was inside where we got our name tags and instructed us how the museum set up and pretty much hype up the group. There were plenty of places inside to take pictures and get ice creams for free unless you paid extra for the other larger portions ? There was also craft kids can play and take home. There was also lady who were giving out cotton candy. There was bathroom onsite and was large and clean. The time slot was just a reference since each group will just keep coming in but you can stay as long as you wanted. The highlight was the sprinkle pool and they have two playedcape and wall climbing, basketball hoops and seating area. I would recommend going there and enjoy the afternoon fun for sure.

QUITE A READ BUT WORTH IT I PROMISE We went to the Museum of Ice cream with some friends and my hubby on 4/2/2022 at 8PM for the very first time. And I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience. The first thing that really irked me was - we were waiting to go inside at 7:55 pm. The lady who checks customers in and puts the wristbands on, we will call her JESSICA, could NOT be bothered to say anything to anyone. I thought she was a customer the whole time because of how invisible she was. When we were called by a staff member to go in, Jessica literally looked at us and didn t say anything while we passed her. She saw we didn t have wristbands on but let us go through anyway. We then were told by a staff member at the door to go back in line back to Jessica because Jessica doesn t know how to do her job except stare people down and bite her nails because she just likes to chill out instead of actually work. So Jessica saw us, she knew we needed the bands, but didn t say anything. Just why Tbh this should have been a huge red flag of what was to come. From the moment we went inside, everything was so disorganized. We were told to follow a specific person only for that person to disappear the moment we entered the building. We were SO confused the whole time where to go because literally no one was helping us. The only helpful people we came across were the ladies working at the ice cream (roll) making room. There were two of them, one brunette and one blonde and they had to tell us to go to the other room twice because nobody was telling us where to go.. It was so embarrassing too, because there were other customers just looking at us look stupid. And so, we finally got to the bar that we were supposed to be after much disaster, and I m surprised I didn t fall and bust something because the whole room was very dim. The lights were off for Lord knows what reason, and this was at night. Granted there was enough light to see a few feet from where I was standing, it was still weird that they didn t want to turn the lights on and there were several people in there, all clumped in one room. To add to this, the bartenders all seemed as confused as we were the whole time. We had to ask for our free milkshake 3 times because they kept forgetting to make it for us. OH and the milkshakes weren t even good As far as employee experience, that was it. The rest of the tour was pretty straightforward so we just kept walking where the walls led us to. The whole thing was dissatisfying. They call this place a museum but but the closest thing Ice cream-related was the ice cream making at the end. And it wasn t really even that grand lol. You get a cold pan, a small serving of milk mixture as the base, then 3 choices of flavor. It was fun, but it all in all, it didn t make up for the rest of the terrible encounter. The remainder of it is just kid activities (except for the bar) with ice cream themed materials and whatnot. Lame. The funnest thing was the sprinkles pool. There was an adult playground at that doesn t offer much. There is a slide. Yay. I keep asking myself why I even paid to get in there. I just feel so cheated out of my money and wish I could get a refund for such a bad experience. $30+ per head says they should be able to afford better training for their employees and better content too. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!! Don t say I didn t warn you.

First of all, I commend the employees seriousness and professionalism as I probably chose the most ridiculous ice cream name. The staff here was very friendly, upbeat and are also incredible photographers. The introduction on how everything works was very clear which also helped with getting a free shot at the end. My only complaints would be the missing pieces for the Connect 4 game and while the ice cream was unlimited, I didn t get to try many of the flavors as they didn t stand out to me. I would also just say to keep in mind that this is an environment with a lot of families and kids so the play area does get quite loud. However, it s far away enough from the bar which was my favorite part. The bartender really made the experience more enjoyable and the drinks were phenomenal.

It s a little pricey but it s all you can eat Ice cream (which was pretty good) a bar, nice decorations and etc. I got me an alcoholic drink that was pretty good. I don t usually drink sweet drinks but this one hit the spot. Thank you to Cosmos who made my drink, she was kind and kept a convo going while making it.

Not really sure why it s called the museum of ice cream. There was hardly any historical info, let alone artifacts or relics. Knew it was probably just another company trying to make a quick buck coming in, but nothing prepared me for this. It was all of around 4-5 small rooms of cutesy photo ops and overworked employees handing out small scoops of mediocre ice cream to the never ending lines of people and screaming kids. Spent about $100 for 2 people. Way overpriced for what they were offering. Would not come here again.

For the cost of each ticket, you would expect the Museum to have more exhibition rooms. The museum consists of 2 pay ice cream bar rooms and 3 exhibition rooms. The ice cream selections were not that unique either. Baskin-Robbins carries more unique flavors than this museum. The rooms were fun picture moments though, but theres only so many pictures you can take before it all becomes redundant. Our family stayed inside for about an hour. The staff was friendly. The ticket prices need to be half of what they charge. It was an experience, but one I would not do again.

While the staff is very nice, museum, in this case, is an extra generous stretch of the imagination. This is merely a space for people to take pictures, snack on low quality ice cream and allow children to roam. Opportunities for learning the history of ice cream here are *THIN*. Moreover, if guests are told they have unlimited access to ice cream, that messaging shouldn t change once they end the tour and hit the bar area. Also, please provide a printed menu. Don t force guests to use their phones when the wifi coverage is so poor. Would not recommend to friends. I spent $30 to get in, fees included, and spent fewer than 30 minutes there. There simply isn t much there to see or do.

I saw this place while I was at the gym on TV during National Ice Cream day and thought it would be good for the kids, some education with fun. The price was high (40 dollars a person), but we hoped for the best. When we arrived we got in line with everyone else. After about ten minutes or so a worker found out that we hadnt pre-paid for the visit and was pretty rude and direct about us getting out of line to pay for everything on line. Then we go to buy the tickets on our phone because there isnt a person we could work with to help us. The process was clunky and irritating, but we got through it. The museum itself wasnt really of any real educational value, its more like an overpriced smaller Mt Playmore, with a few ice cream flavored rooms, and free sample size ice cream. If I recall correctly there are about three or so rooms. The first one is an ice cream shop, the second has a bunch of plastic bananas hanging from the walls, along with some astrology stuff. The last room was the most fun for the kids, but still, its very small. For what we spent there we could have had a full on pizza party at Mount Playmore or some other like place and the kids would have the same amount of fun. My review is certainly critical because of the very high price of admission, sub optimal customer receiving design, poor purchasing experience, and lack of it being a museum.

We visited the place a few times, while the first few times the experience was great, last time experience was unpleasant in the sprinkler pool. Quite a few Spanish speakers kept asking a staff member for hints to find the golden sprinkler, and the Spanish-speaking staff was too nice to firmly say no to all of them. The kindness led to crowdedness in the area hinted - one female adult, who speaks only Spanish, sat in the area and managed out all other kids in a subtle way except her daughter, leading to unpleasant experiences to other kids. While the design of the golden sprinkler was great, the game is based on the assumption that no one leaks any hint, which is unrealistic as staff members are also humans; this may cause unnecessary conflicts especially when some cheap adult jumps in to compete with kids.

Honestly was not that great its packed as hell and I dont know why the ice cream is not that good. The experience is definitely way over priced its more of a thing for IG (Instagram) pictures. If you do end up going and you dont have kids and want it to be nice for you and significant other go on a week day when kids are back in school cause during the summer its swamped!! Parking GAWD DAMN dont get me started on parking the parking out front is Valet I think 15$-20$ just go park at pink garage and try to get there 20-25 min earlier at least in the summer cause its busy as hell. Obviously for parents its pretty good but again its can be pretty packed try to go toward the end of the school year when everyone has left lol so you can have a smaller crowd. The end of the quote on quote tour lmfao the fun part for the kids is at the end just before getting to the actual ice cream parlor. Which you have to pay for. Maybe you will have a different experience but just for me and my wife its something we will not be doing again anytime soon or at all, but hey youll never know till you go. Make the most out of your money!

We were in Austin for a brief family getaway. We visited the Museum of Ice Cream. There was a line that we had to wait in to get in when we arrived. It took about 10-15 minutes to get in the museum. It was hot, but there was a big mist fan outside to keep us cool. When we got in, we were served a pink lemonade drink. Every staff member that we encountered was very nice and welcoming. There was unlimited ice cream, but I only really liked two flavors that they had (cookies and cream / pink vanilla). My ten year old daughter enjoyed herself! I give this 3 stars because it was great for my kids since they did have lots of fun and they enjoyed the ice cream flavors but for adults, personally, it is severely lacking. if youre whole business idea is ice cream... then you need to be ready to not disappoint. They tailor the flavor palette toward children so if you want a good ice cream tasting or buffet this is definitely a hard pass. If you want to entertain your kids with family friendly activities then this is a great place.

Our visit was kind of a dud so not sure you can count it. It was raining and decided to pop in randomly on a Monday. We didnt have reservations and have never been. There was no line, and also hardly anyone there. They make you buy tickets via a QR code, even tho there are staff present who could easily sell you a ticket. Lots of boxes to consent to texts and advertising involved. There is also a disclaimer that prices can change depending on availability. Seems like on a Monday maybe they should have been cheaper? Each ticket cost 28$ and I was expecting the total to come out to something like 60$. However, the total was 70$, there were an additional 10$ of fees added on. The whole thing felt really overpriced so we decided to just go to the bar and get ice cream. Im glad I did because in hindsight I would have been a bit disappointed. The museum isnt actually a museum, its just kind of an artistic entertainment center. Based on some of the photos and videos I saw online it doesnt totally warrant a 35$ price tag for entry. Maybe if there were rides or something? It seems par for the course for touristy things at the Domain though. This is the second type of event center I have been to up there and they are horribly expensive.
