1st time down here as an Austin Native I dont eat downtown but we were here for my daughters bday. I have to say the A/c was on point ice cold!!! The atmosphere was great.. the server was awesome. Even had a little bit of language barrier at 1st but we got thru it. I ordered a burger Ive had to much texmex and the burger was GREAT!!

Wow what an amazing experience. My fiancé and I just arrived in Austin, coming from New York and the experience here was one of a kind. We have so many different options for Mexican food in New York but none of it comes close to the authentic dining experience we had here. Alan was our server and he was the nicest guy! Absolutely recommend this place for locals or newbies like us! For a first dining experience in this city, we couldn t have been more happier Thank you

If I could give this restaurant six stars, I would. I m an old Texas cowboy grew up on the south side San Antonio. Trust me I know what Mexican food should be like. Food here at this restaurant is some of the best I ve ever had The steak fajitas are absolutely excellent The Alambre Is a unique and world-class meal a mixture, steak, bacon, chorizo, mushrooms, onions, and Poblado. This is a meal you won t forget I only wished I lived in. Austin did here more often but when I m in town, this is my go to restaurant. Six stars wonderful atmosphere wonderful service almost feels like home eat here you will not regret it

I was there last night with a group of 7 women at 7pm. We are at a conference across the street with 8,000 people and this restaurant was dead. The food was ok (overpriced), but the service was exceptionally poor, which made sense why it was dead. The waiter threw a fit when we asked for separate checks in a dead restaurant. He gave us the bill so we could figure it out. At the end, he told us our table owed an additional $80 after we all paid, which was incorrect. The server had nothing to do so he could have easily split the checks, but too lazy to do so. The manager was a jerk. Nothing about this place was professional or desirable. This I believe is my very first negative review for a restaurant. I generally try to give places grace, but the service was so unacceptable, I had to leave a review.

Well for starters the place had about 4 tables including ours. Nothing wrong with that. But we were a table of 15. And it took them a while to serve us. Well, there are a lot of us and I understand it, but not even having drinks seems like bad customer service. And how bad it was that there was a scandal when we let him know. So they didnt know who was going to be able to serve us. It was a show. The truth is they need people who want to grow the business and who care about what the client asks for. Because the truth is, the manager or the person who pretended to be in charge said that they dont need our money. But honestly, for four tables they had, I doubt it. I hope the manager and the employees step up to be able to give the owner what he deserves. Because employees like that really wouldnt pay!!!

Attentive and friendly service. They do not spare the spice, so if you are into spicy, this place is for you! Micheladas are great, filling, and have some spice. Camarones Diablos was very flavorful and spicy (you see the trend here?). Would be happy to visit again.

We stopped for apps and we were not disappointed! The salsa and chips were awesome. The salsa had a beautiful fresh flavor almost as if they made it right before bringing it to the table! The chips were served warm. The guacamole was made table side. We enjoyed the tacos dorados. Delicious but a little too spicy for me. The queso was very tasty and creamy. The service was excellent. Our drinks were topped off and our table was always clean. The staff checked on us frequently. We will be back to try their dinner.

Was excited to bring my mother here. We got in, it wasn t very busy maybe 4-5 tables. 15 minutes went by no server no chips another table walks in got seated chips drinks everything. I asked to put in our order from our server who walked past us several times and didn t care to acknowledge us. He took the other table that came in order maybe 5 minutes after us and somehow all 4 of their plates came out before our two ( nachos and enchiladas) it was clear our server didn t want to serve us from the start I m not sure why. I asked for a to go cup for our unfinished salsa and he said he wasn t allowed to. Then said he d have to charge me if I took our leftover salsa with us.. I told him we took it last time no problem and I just didn t want to waste it. He demanded I tell him which server let us take our leftovers and got very rude and disrespectful. I ve never felt with this type of experience and honestly won t be back.

I went here on A Thursday night for dinner with my co worker. I ordered the chicken fajitas enchiladas and it was delicious. We also had table side guacamole. The table side guacamole was so so good. I will definitely be back for that!! The service was also amazing, the reason the service was 4 star because the server kept coming to see if my co worker was ready to pay the bill, he did this 3x and it wasn t because they were closing soon. My coworker and I were both irritated with that. Other than that we had a great time.

The food was good, but Ive never had a server or some level of management be so rude. Someone in my party ordered a drink. When a different drink was brought, she asked about it. She was told they couldnt make that drink. We showed what the menu said, and still told no. She then said she didnt want it. A little bit later, she went to the bar to ask the bartender if there was anything similar he could make. While talking to the bartender, our server went and got management, who then told her everyone who works there is going to tell her the same thing. What??? He had no knowledge of any of the conversations, including what she was asking the bartender! Absolutely unacceptable! Wheelchair accessibility: All the tables are crammed in there, and navigating any type of mobility assistance is difficult.

It took over 1 1/2 hours for our food. The waiter said they had lost the ticket. When the manager finally brought the food out, his response was We have been busy. My tacos looked like slop in a plate. They tasted ok, but definitely not $24 good, and definitely not appealing. Came here with a large group after activities in the nearby conversation center as its hard to find other places within walking distance for large groups. Service here was outstanding but the food was lackluster. The brisket tacos meat came out very dry like it had been sitting under a heat lamp, the accompanying lime was so dry I couldn t get a single drop out of it, and I was shocked that the $24 plate didn t even come with rice and beans. Just a bit of meat, 3 tortillas, and some pickled onions oh boy. Made me wish I had just gone to Chuys instead! Others said their enchiladas tasted like they weren t super fresh as well.

Best guacamole this East Coast boy has ever had. My steak tacos were good, but not great. Other folks thought the enchiladas were top notch. Caution with the salsa, it packs a kick - loved it.

We had different plates, mine was the Patos tacos, which is basically chicken with tacos. A little overpriced in my opinion and way too spicy. My husband had enchiladas which was simply not very tasty and also way too spicy. The Burritos were okay but cost 2 dollar more for the sauce? The salad was fine. Overall not the best food experience but the ambiance was nice.

This is more like a warning than a review. I didn t eat or drink anything here, and here s why: the lock on the Ladies room door is broken, with a sign saying to knock before entering. It s a one stall room. Unfortunately the inebriated man that kept knocking and opening the door while I was in there was enough to turn me off. I left right after.

Omgoodness, this was the best Mexican restaurant here in Austin!! The chicken enchiladas were cheesy and had huge chunks of chopped fajita chicken. I also had pinto beans and Spanish rice, which was well seasoned and very flavorful. Fresh chips extra crispy and homemade salsa not crazy spicy or chunky!! My server was attentive and checked on me several times to make sure I was happy!! The atmosphere was great and music festive. I will definitely come back when I visit Austin!! My new goto spot!!

We were looking for a small snack and a couple of drinks. We dropped in and had ourselves 3 different micheladas from the menu. We also order the chips and salsa with a side of queso. It was just the right amount of food with our drinks. We werent there for a full dinner just a few drinks and snacks and it was perfect!

My waitress was the best ever. Her recommendations were spot on!! My Old Fashion was fantastic and my steak enchiladas were awesome. Highly recommend a night out here and hopefully you get our waitress, Madison. She s awesome. Great place for sure!

Everything amazing until you see back of house and bathrooms. Gross bathrooms with leaky toilets and broken locks and doors. I ll blame management because the actual workers, service, and food were amazing. The owners must be the worst part. $5 admin fee just eat here is also laughable. Will not return.

The ambiance is pretty good. Its a festive type environment with various colorful decorations. I ordered a Michelada, it was pretty good, but it needed a little more kick. The queso was by far the best Ive had at a restaurant in a while, I would definitely go back just for that cheese. Vegetarian options: I had vegetarian enchiladas, they were just okay. To be honest I was slightly disappointed in the flavor and presentation.

Really great food, service was a bit slow but the Texas v. Oklahoma game was on so it was sort of an excuse. This place was recommended by a bartender on sixth and it did not disappoint. Would go again and recommend to others.

We were a table for 3, the very friendly host sat us at a table where the seats were too dirty full of grease and chips we changed tables the waitress and the busy boy were super attentive they have excellent service good food at a price high . The annoying thing and what marks my disagreement is that at the end of the account they already add the tip plus admin charges and that I pay with cash and also they did not bring the change back... consumption was $100 dlls and plus the tips, the administrative charges and what was not returned In exchange they add $50 extra dollars in total $150 for two dishes, two desserts and two drinks ..

The only reason for a poor review is that they over charged my card by double the amount of the check. I called and the manager said he found the mistake and that he would fix the problem and refund my money. I am still waiting. I tried calling back and i get no answer.Check your back accounts.I am so glad i saved my receipt.
