Im an Austin native of over 30years+ and this place is not it. Prime location; but customer service was non-existent. They fumbled the ball on the food quality and authenticity. We started with the powder-fake queso; which was terrible! I also ordered enchiladas. They were cold with that nasty-fake-powder queso on top wrapped in cheap store-bought tortillas with unseasoned small bits of chicken. Yall got to do better! Great views though, lol.

Sunday night came to have dinner with my family. Walked in no host or server to be found in sight. Bartender did not acknowledge us. We had to ask to be seated. Once, seated we were served waters and they tasted like soap.( informed the worker & No-one brought new waters) When the server finally attended to us she was rude had an attitude took our order and wasn t seen afterwards got our drinks 20 mins later from someone else. Asked for our server she never came then we asked to speak with management and no one came until we started walking out. It was dead no one was there. Bad Customer service. Workers were on their phones.

Loved this cute restaurant with delicious Mexican food! Went on a Fri night and a local DJ was playing new and old rap/pop music which created a great atmosphere! Must try spot in Downtown Austin! Vegetarian options: Veggie quesadilla was ordered by another person in our party and they loved it and shared it with another person because it was huge!

The food looks good, the service seems OK, but there s no way to tell because the menu is a QR code and if it doesn t work, -which ours didn t-you don t have any option of a paper menu whatsoever. There are no paper menus in the entire restaurant. If your QR code doesn t work you re screwed. Do better.

Horrible experience. There was a hair floating in my drink (not the 1st time this has happened at Gabrielas). The server took way too long to come to our table each time. We tried flagging him down multiple times but he was clearly ignoring us (wasnt even that busy). They brought queso but no chips/tortillas. When they finally brought the chips/tortillas, the queso was COLD that we didnt want it anymore. In addition to taking so long, our server appeared to get bothered each time we would ask for something. Very disappointed and will definitely not return to the downtown location.

Place is nice looking servers are kind and courteous its not their fault the price and food are horrible But if you are looking to overpay for dry tasteless Mexican food this is the right place 25 for a drink in a blender the container is cool but the drinks and the pineapple drink my friend asked for are horrible premixed cheap drinks Torta cubana is 14 for a dry old bread withan overcooked breaded dry meat and poor in toppings Queso flameado is made out of a cheapest cheese available that tastes like rubber even when melted And. Tacos are the worst most expensive tacos I have tasted even on sight the different meats seem dry and old and taste exactly like that Only pros are the place is kind of cool nice atmosphere with plants around and servers are attentive But again the food not coming back because of that

We went for my friends 21st birthday and had stated so with him curious if he could get an alcoholic drink to celebrate, not stating anything in particular, as in if it could be on the house. Our waitress never gave a yes or no, but rather a hint as to see what she could do. We got our drinks and she ends up bringing a margarita flight to him, assuming it was on the house after all. Later on when we get the bill, we notice that she ended up charging for it and were going to question her about it but she grabbed the card quickly and went back to charge it. This was a disgusting practice and quite frankly messed up for someone to do this when we never explicitly asked for a flight, let alone any drink, but rather picking one of the most expensive alcoholic drinks likely expecting a great tip to complement it.

Waitress was not friendly nor welcoming. Paid $200 and honestly wasnt worth it. A horchata was $8, a michelada was $16, totally not worth the cost. The atmosphere is super cute, but the service we received was not. The queso we ordered came out cold. We also ordered 2 of the signature drinks on the menu. One of them was $25. We BARELY sipped both drinks, realized we didn t like them. Had to wait 15 minutes for the server to come back so we could tell her we didn t like them, waited another 10 for the manager just for her to tell us we still had to pay for them. We are not from Austin and we were hoping for a quick cute bite to eat. Instead we got a frustrating and disappointing experience. The manager did eventually agree to give us 50% off the drinks but that was only after we argued with her that paying for them was ridiculous considering we had barely touched them. The atmosphere is super cute but the service was garbage and I will not be back. The photo is of the barely touched $25 drink.

Friday night dinner, happened to be in the area and stopped on in. It did take a couple of minutes for the hostess to come and greet us. Zero wait for a table for 2. Atmosphere is lively with Latin music on, it is on the loud side. So if you re hard of hearing and don t like loud music, just be aware. Hey for a Friday night, I could see this is the stop before hitting bars or clubs. The food i ordered was full of flavored. The quesadillas fritas with chorizo. The ingredients were fresh and love that topped it with queso fresco. I can say it reminded me of some of my grandmothers cooking. The frijoles were tasty, not the black beans, those were eh. The fresh water, aguas they have are delicious and presented so nicely and that s why I took picture. Too often places only dress the cocktails, so it was a nice treat to see this. Yup, the pineapple slice was delicious. I would recommend some salt and pepper shakers at the table. Overall, I could say I would return here.

(Went to De Nadas instead ten times busier immediate service) Unfortunately I love this place. So so much. First restaurant I went to in Austin when I moved here for grad school I wanted to come here for my 35th birthday and it s been almost 20 minutes of sitting at the bar with zero service. Not even a simple drink order taken. Sign says, see host - there s not one. We sat at the bar still no one. Big bummer. Big big bummer. Server decides to cash himself out on a check and bus a table instead of checking in with us like two feet away. Finally comes up to us, we share the situation- instead of offering to take our order or apologize he goes and gets the manager. Cop out. Talked to the manager before leaving and realized this was the same girl who I thought was just a server. Passed by us several times. She stared at me with a deer in the headlights stare. Said a couple things that would make you think maybe the manager position wasn t a good fit. Especially because she didn t offer any consolation. Not a freaking hint of accountability. Flimsy excuses about lack of staff. Friend, we ve worked food service, we know what s up. This was a FLOP. Learn from this please. This places menu is off the charts good. And I ll absolutely not go to this location ever again. Eh maybe I ll try it again in a year. Hopefully we ve got more training on how to do food service right by then.

Unremarkable and poor service. We visited months ago and never saw a waiter after waiting for 30 minutes so we just walked out. Had friends visiting who wanted to try Gabriella s so we went back on 5/26 to try again. They were not very busy and there was no wait, but despite that, our service was sparse and lackluster. Had to grab her attention for everything we needed, including filling our water and getting us napkins. Can I get you anything? Uh, yeah, more water? When the glasses were visibly sitting empty on the table and one of us had already asked for a refill, which was apparently forgotten. Seems like a basic expectation of a server and not something you should have to call to their attention. The food was not good like 3/10. We all got something different, and each dish SERIOUSLY lacked seasoning. By lacking, I mean there was none. The fries did not even have salt. It was rough lol. They were also out of birria. It was very hot inside of the restaurant and the decor is not appealing for an eating establishment. There were also gnats flying around constantly. Won t be back and will not recommend :)

Visited Austin from Dallas this past weekend and went to Gabriela s for brunch. Although the food was decent, the service was the worst. Once we were sat at our table, we didn t see a waitress for about 10 minutes. Our drinks stayed empty, we ordered 2 plates.. the French toast and the Wake Up and we received our Wake Up meal but not our French toast. We waited forever for the waitress to come back over to tell her we didn t get the French toast. She left and came back like 10 min later to tell us the French toast was taken to another table by accident. So we had to wait for it to be remade. We shouldn t have even been charged for it at that point, but we were. Then when we asked for our tab, we waited forever for that and once we gave our card to the waitress, waited about 20 minutes until we noticed she wasn t even checking us out. So I went up to her and she finally gave me the tab of $54 and I tipped almost 15% which was generous considering our service. Well, now we checked our bank transactions and we were charged $104. We ve been trying to contact management and have not gotten an answer. There are too many cute spots in Austin to eat at to get stuck at this place. Update: I called to speak to a manager again today and finally someone answered. He said no manager was there yet but took my info and said they would call me back. It s been almost 4 hours and no call back. And I m attempting to call back and all numbers associated with Gabriela s don t even ring, it just hangs up.

PARKING if you are going here Parking is a issue. Its oddly hilld and you have a few parking spots to the side of the restaurant. The rest of the parking is up a steep hill around the back and on a steep downhill in gravel! That bit was rough if you dont have a hybrid-truck style vehicle. So be aware parking here is rough. The restaurant itself was nice I love the atmosphere if not a bit loud. The view is really neat and why this location was recommended so sitting out back I really recommend. Service was meh, they were not unfriendly just I think preparing for a catering or something because the staff just wasnt attentive. Not a huge deal just something noticed. The drinks are beautiful looking and not bad the margarita I got the House Margarita was a little too salty but still drinkable. And the food was good nothing extravagant and definitely wasnt what was pictured on the menu. But it didnt taste bad. Overall good eat just not a place Id go back to.

Food was decent and service was struggled a bit for a Friday night. Atmosphere was ok but the 2 bathrooms for the whole restaurant was awful. Both had lines out the door which spilled awkwardly into the reception area.

Cool little restaurant! Like patio dining but cozy. See downtown while eating. Pull to the back for free parking though. Food was good and we enjoyed our meal. Parking: Parking on a hill. They have paid parking but pull around to the back for free parking. You might have to walk a little with the free parking though. We were lucky to get a close parking space.

They dont have a good organization to get in, we waited almost 30 minutes, the tacos only come with 3 shrimp, good but very poor and expensive. The service is SUUUPER TARADO, they take hours to serve you. They also demand a 20% tip when its really not worth it. The bathrooms are very dirty and stinky. The only good thing was the music. Disappointed in this place.

Waited over 45 minutes to be seated for 9:30 reservation after arriving at 9:15 orders were taken around 10:04 had to repay for parking because of the wait, predatory parking service and lack of quality or reasonable expectation of safety navigating the surrounding terrain, food was the best part of the visit but one cannot dine well without service to match, Needless to say I will not be visiting again

Fiiiiire barria tacos. I m on a journey to find the best street tacos/barria tacos and this place is high on the list. It s in a busy walking area and there was a lot of foot traffic passing by the whole time we were eating outside on the patio. It wasn t the most ideal seating, they seemed to be pretty busy. We had no reservation but they put us on the patio and at the time, that was better than nothing because we were pretty hungry. Food took a while too. All in all, I d do it again because the tacos themselves were excellent.

FYI is almost 10 dollars an hour to park here! Feels like youre in Europe with all the tiny cafe tables and not in a good way. We had 2 accidents with both drinks and food as the tables were tiny. The staff are amazing though. Stick to drinks and appetizers having dinner here would be a table challenge! And Uber not enough parking and if you do find it, its expensive and per the hour.

We came here from houston thinking we were going to get exceptional service and food and got everything but that ! As soon as we walked in the waiter told us they were closing at 10 pm even tho they had a restaurant full of people and and they close at 11 . When I asked the host he rushed us to our table and said they asked the owner n said it s okay. Okay a greeting would ve been nice but no big deal the waiter comes and he s just as bad (Jose) didn t greet us or anything (had to ask his name) jus rushed us to order , questioned us when we asked for extra condiments , the food was clearly old and when we asking for chorizo queso we got a block of cold queso instead . 2/10 !! If you want good food , good service and real hours don t come here !!!

The server we had was great! We ordered ceviche & didn t clarify that we wanted the tostada on happy hour which was a miscommunication on our end & didn t want the entree but as a server (which I am) I feel like you should clarify & she never did, she was new so understandable I ve made that mistake myself! The manager came over & we explained to him the situation which wasn t either of our faults because it s a miscommunication, he said next time it wouldn t be discounted & made it seem like it was our fault, he just really came off like we were trying to get a discount out of it & was really rude to us in an assertive way. Don t blame the server, blame the management!

I was excited to visit this place, the staff is friendly and the place is nice enough but not worth it for the price, it s a bit overprice for what it is, in Latin America this will be a Fonda at best - where you go for a cheap casual eat, the food is ok nothing spectacular - price vs food is not a match, unfortunately that s the reality in Austin everywhere is overpriced and leaves you with a sense of disappointment with the food - I don t mind to pay more but would expect the food be up to the level

The food was amazing, but I was looking for more of a latin vibe within the music its self since it s what I e heard from friends but it s not what I got, there was house music instead which wasn t that vibe since I was getting ready to go to one of the clubs they also own, which is also known mala vida. Maybe this restaurant is now to go more during the week and less during the weekend or maybe during the day and not at night.

The food was great. The music and atmosphere were great. The actual service was mehh. They made several mistakes with food orders and drink orders then said they would throw the wrong stuff they brought in the trash and charge us for the incorrect drinks if we decided to drink what they served instead of what we actually ordered. Thought it was an odd thing to tell us given that they served us the wrong drinks causing a delay for the correct drinks but okay, I guess thats how they contribute to keeping Austin weird. Over all 4/5 for food and atmosphere 3/5 for general competence.

Food: Always delicious! Drinks are mixed well too. One of the best spots near downtown Austin. 5/5 Service: Look at the menu before you arrive, otherwise at least 10-15minute wait to order drinks and/or food. The waitress/waiter will disappear once your food arrives so ask for napkins or anything you need beforehand. They re nice waiters, just likely understaffed. 3/5 Atmosphere: Music is great! Vibes are fun and it s a generally an energetic environment. Expect to speak loudly to hear yourselves, but you ll want to dance most of the time. 5/5 Front host: The gentlemen at the front will answer any or most of your questions with huh? And whu? And then proceed to tell you you re lucky we got an extra table . 1/5

The food is authentic Mexican and cooked to perfection. The Aguas Frescas Spa Waters are legit, taste so authentic and amazing. The alcoholic drinks are really good too and strong , but still flavorful. The ambiance was great, the background music was 80s/90s Rock en Español jams, the nostalgia had me we will definitely be back.
