This place cracks me up. It starts out as a restaurant with really good service, nice Ambience and pretty good food. Then suddenly the music changes, a DJ rolls out, and the crowd literally gets about 20 years younger. I love it. Thats when I leave and the young folks can have their fun.

Fun, thematic ambiance. Dark and moody. Very clean. Discovered this place after stumbling upon info about the Nova Hospitality group and wanted to try it since The Well is so good. Thought it was uncanny that I just saw Jack Zimmermans name in the movie Wolfs, right after seeing his name as the owner of Nova a few days before. Congrats Jack on making the film! Will have to try Ten Ten next. Service was great! Will have to come back for live jazz night.

We had a wonderful experience at Devil May Care. Katie was an amazing waitress. She made sure we were constantly taken care of and answered all of our Austin questions. Alex was a great bartender who makes a great mojito if you re interested. I would definitely recommend this place!

The devil eggs were delicious, with a great flavor profile, although they were a bit pricey at $4.25 per egg. The drinks were enjoyable, and I appreciated the half-price wine bottles during happy hour. The full chicken was tasty, but be aware that some might find it spicy. I came to this establishment on a Friday evening. After ordering the first round of drinks, the server kept pitching the bottle service and offered to comp the drinks we d already had. She quoted us a price that we felt was reasonable. Before I confirmed the bottle service order, I asked the server if I could pay for our tab through inkind. She confirmed that I could. We went ahead and ordered the bottle, after which the server informed me that she had already run my friend s credit card for the first round of drinks that we ordered and that we wouldn t get the first round for free. While annoyed with the situation, we went ahead with the bottle order. At the end of the night, we asked for the check and the server came back with the check that had already been run on the credit card used to hold the table. It was also a higher price than what we were quoted for the bottle. We reminded her that we wanted to use the inKind app to pay and reminded her of the amount that she had quoted us and she said that she would get her manager to fix the issue. The manger came over and told me it was his discretion on whether or not we could use inkind and said devil may care does not allow bottle service to be paid through inkind. He also said that it was our responsibility to check the menu price, even though his server acknowledged that she quoted us the different price verbally. I strongly would not recommend this establishment due to shady business practices, which is unfortunate because my friends and I had visited multiple times previously. I d keep this business of my go to lists for the future, along with the rest of the properties that this ownership group owns.

Its ironic how the name of this place is Devil May Care because it is anything but carefree or easy going. I thought that Austin establishments, especially newer ones, would be open-minded and inclusive. However, it seems like classist clubs that enforce silly dress codes are still a thing of the present. Im waiting to be enlightened on how a man with a sleeveless button-down shirt was a detriment to the environment, which barred us entry into the business. I didnt know that this would be the culture, but perhaps I was fooled by the token Cumbia night that made me assume that they catered to the Latinx crowd, therefore the rest of the minority crowds.

We were super excited to come for Cumbia on Wednesday night. It was super hot outside at night (still like 95 degrees) and my friend was wearing a nice buttondown sleeveless shirt, and we were turned away at the door because the manager said that men are not allowed to wear sleeveless shirts on the premises. I guess they value enforcing an arbitrary gender based dresscode over taking our money and allowing us to have a good time at the establishment. These types of dress codes are the antithesis of Austins culture, but the host was super sweet and apologetic about it all...

This is a restaurant with a sexy lounge vibe serving up Middle Eastern cuisine. We joined them on a Saturday afternoon for their happy hour (5pm - 6:30pm). We shared the dozen Raw Oysters ($2 ea.), the Jumbo Prawn Cocktail ($18), and the Mezze Platter ($42). All were fresh and tasty. The love of my life sampled a few of their Mini Tinis including the tasty chai-tinged Espresso Martini and the Disco Bird. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back. Vegetarian options: About half of the menu is vegetarian.

I booked Devil May Care for my 40th Birthday dinner( and this restaurant didn t disappoint. Arrived at 8pm to a beautiful low lit dinning with an Awesome DJ playing r&b and Hip Hop @ respectful level. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The switch from restaurant to nightclub was a smooth transition, the ambience and environment was awesome! Myself & Husband ordered ; (2) Lollipop Lamp Chops: cooked to perfection medium, juicy, smoky with a little bit of Char Harissa Truffle Burger: made with Brisket & Short Rib very flavorful bite with a honey Aioli which gave a savory sweet taste Jumbo Prawn Cocktail: came with 4 Large Shrimp with a harissa cocktail sauce, the sauce tasted like Salsa & Oregano didn t care for this East Coast Oysters: an order was 4 medium size oysters that were sweet and fresh Drinks: White Jasmine: delicious light, sweet & a little sour & very generous amount of Haku Vodka New York: very strong manly drink spicy with a cooling citrus

Went here in 2022 and had an amazing experience, came back in 2024 and was disappointed to say the least. Service was terrible from the host to our server. I reserved a booth a week before our reservation and when we finally showed up they told us the booth wasn t available, they were actually holding it for another reservation? As if I didn t also reserve it. The girls were rude and clueless. I guess the uniform is supposed to distract from the incompetence. The booth we requested was empty for over an hour while we were there. The whole restaurant/bar was slow, with multiple open tables, so they certainly weren t busy. Moreover, when we ordered our dishes the server wasn t helpful at all. We ordered deviled eggs for 4 people and she brought out 3? Common sense would suggest letting the table know how many the appetizer serves, since I was in the service industry myself. Then our server just left halfway through and we had no one checking on us for a while. Finally another server comes over and tells us she left but then she was seen hanging out by the bar. The drinks were flat. The food was really the best part but unfortunately I probably won t be back again. This place has definitely gone down hill since 2022.

This place is kind of weird I don t get what kind of venue it s trying to be. They serve food but it definitely isn t a restaurant and I am not sure it gives me clean enough to eat there vibes. They serve creatively mixed cocktails which I would not quite qualify as true craft cocktails - they all taste a little cloyingly sweet or like sour mix - just not a high caliber of mixology. The music is. so. loud. Just why?! Why is it this loud? It s like they are trying to be a nightclub BUT there is no dance floor. Came in twice to celebrate and got to pop in during R&B night. The place is gorgeously done with sexy, dim lighting, and lots of cushy seating. We enjoyed the Spicy Hummus and a few skewers which were tender and flavorful. Our friends got the chicken which came with crispy potatoes and warm naan bread. Wanted to try the oysters, but they were fresh out, so we will save for next time. However, food definitely did not disappoint! For drinks we were recommended the Clear Paradises and the Coconut Mojitos. If you like sweet drinks that arent sickly, these are pretty good. Espresso martinis were tasty and half off on Thursday. Service was fast and attentive, Tyler was very patient and sweet with our loud group. Went out of her way to make sure we had Instagram-worthy pictures that we all liked and checked on us with each plate they brought out. Mention your celebration and they will bring you an adorable shot on fire! I didnt catch the second waitress name, but she was nice as well. Stick with your servers recommendations to make sense of the busy menu and youre set. The service here is definitely one of the best parts of this place from the lobby to the table. Cons and places for improvement- The club portion could be improved. We planned to stay and buy a table , but when we asked about add-ons, they came up blank. Pricy bottles for no reason, so if youre planning to come out to have a club night and really celebrate; know that there are no signs, bubbles, anything fun-just 30 seconds of awkward flashing lights to be honest. We asked to put our friends name on the typical club signs you can get anywhere else, but they didnt have one in the entire building. Disappointed as we wanted to make a night out of it and keep drinking with good music, recommended table by a friend but the energy in there was low after 11 PM. Very different than what your money gets you on the rest of the strip. Great potential for the perfect one-night stop in Austin, but not quite there for the second part of the night. Bathroom had a very interesting smell both nights, but was clean at least. The upstairs balcony would be nice if you want a quieter atmosphere.

We came to Devil May Care on the night of April 12th. The vibes were good at first - my two girlfriends and I ordered 2 mocktails and a lemonade at the bar since we didnt want to drink liquor. We went back for seconds and the bartender took our order and went to the back. Meanwhile, a guy next to us took some shots that werent his and left. As we were patiently waiting for our drinks, the manager Alessandro (bouncer said this was his name) accused us three black women that we took the drinks, he refused us service and kicked us out to our astonishment. Someone at the bar said it was black people who took the drink and he automatically accused us of the infracture. Besides seeing that we clearly had no drinks in our hands and us trying to explain that we did not take the drinks, he shut us down, racially profiled us and demanded us to leave the establishment. Even the bartender who knew we were only drinking mocktails could not stand up for us three. I have never experienced such discriminatory behavior here in Austin and its unfortunate since this was my first (and definitely last) time at this place. I cant wait for them to review the camera footage and realize my girlfriends and I were minding our business and unfortunately were wrongly accused with no explanation. So if youre black do not go to spend your black dollars at this place.

For a special night out, DMC cannot be beat. We visited from out of state and can t stop thinking about the chicken and potatoes- worth the air faire back to Austin. I m only half joking! Amazing date night experience. I ve been barhopping the best spots in Austin for the last 5 years and would definitely rank this at the top. We went for the jazz Wednesday night as a couple and had a really great time. The lights, settings and furnishings were so elegant and chic yet cozy. Our waitress Taylor was super sweet, stylish and professional. The bites were really well done - we got the steak, salmon, fries and whipped feta. All really good flavors and seasonings. We also ordered espresso martini and the lunar eclipse, which was one of the best mezcal drinks we ve ever had. The only reason I m giving 4 stars was the bathrooms smell gnarly like public toilet level but other than that devil may care offers a really great experience from the food to the vibes to the service. We will be coming back!

Great Ambiance and happy hour specials and food was great, but was a bit disappointed in the service. My husband and I came into Austin and didn t have enough time to drop of our luggage at our hotel and make a event at Devil May care on time. So we called ahead to ask if we bring our luggage in and if it could be held while we attended an event, the hostess told us that it wouldn t be a problem and they could hold it for us. When we arrived the hostess changed retracted their statement that it would be okay, we were in a bit of a challenging situation because we had already brought our luggage into the establishment and got our valet parked. We asked if there was anything that could be done and the Hostess had the worse attitude about the situation but eventually let us keep our luggage under the condition that we would have to be okay with them sitting at our table. It was quite of obstruction for the waitress and other guests. If we would had been told when we called earlier that we could not bring luggage then we would had made other arrangements. It was very distasteful to be honest.

Had my wife 40th bday here. Been there. A few times but no secrion. Started off with the waitress spilling water all over her dress but the manager and everyone took care of us and turned it around even the wrong section we paid for but they apologized comped us some things. Highly disappointed with the Oyster Night at Devil May Care! Advertisements promised complimentary featured cocktails and unlimited access to the raw bar, but reality was a far cry from this. Food vanished in minutes, and the passed bites seemed more like a myth than an actual serving. I caught a glimpse of the Texas Wagyu and clam - just once. Dont even get me started on the unlimited cocktail which turned out to be a one-time welcome drink. Misleading at best and deceitful at worst. Expected way more from an event like this. Will think twice before attending any of their future events. Misrepresentation is a terrible business practice.

My boyfriend and I went for R&B Night and we want such a great time overall! We had reservations at 7:30pm and arrived a little early but were accommodated. Hailey our waitress was wonderful! It was our first time and she faves us awesome recommendations on food and drinks! She also checked on us constantly throughout. We tried the steak skewers, spiced hummus, spiced fries, lamb meatballs, espresso martini, and the cocktail with passion fruit (don t remember the name). Everything was delicious! Jill, was honestly the reason we stayed at the bar. We were keen to leave for a dinner reservation but she was so great we stayed. Great lounge to grab some delicious food, nice ambiance. Hailey was our amazing, knowledgeable, and kind server. The true sign of a well run business is how they handle problems. We had specified no pork on our cheese platter, the order was put in properly, unfortunately it was missed by the kitchen staff. With quick efficiency, the manager swooped in and immediately identified the issue, removed the plate and personally had watched as the kitchen staff remade the cheese plate. We were pleasantly surprised with their efficiency, authentic apology and overall kindness. Keep in mind, it s a cool underground lounge vibe vs a restaurant but the food and drinks are flavorful and fresh. Thank you

Went to Devil May Care in Austin on Friday night June 2nd, 2023 at 10:30 PM and ordered two drinks that came out to around $30. I left NO tip because of terrible service and a poor attitude out of the male bartender (there were only two at the time, other was female). I checked my credit card statement today and now the charge shows $45. The bartender left himself an unauthorized tip on my card with out my consent or approval. This is a terrible business, and do not come here as they try to take advantage of people by filling in their own tips.

Morgan, Austin, the bartender & other wait staff worked their butts off on an understaffed Friday night. We had reservations and they accommodated us in a new area. The service was slow (understaffed) and the manager didn t seem to be helping out. The ambiance is awesome, great DJ, and the place is beautiful. The ambience is great...dim lighting, rustic surroundings, friendly servers. We came early to enjoy the crowd but early enough for dinner. Drinks were great! We ordered the hummus which was delicious. We also ordered the lamb dinner which was so large; enough for 4 people so be aware before you order. We were only 2 people and we couldnt finish it. The lamb itself was okay. It was slow roasted so it fell off the bone but we found it quite salty. Otherwise, a good experience!
