Ive worked and known Lex and Newcastle homes for the past 8 years plus+. As a real estate broker Ive helped Lex purchase 2 lots, both active & off market in East Central ATX. Lex is very knowledgeable in regards to Core Central Austin neighborhoods, and figuring out what can and can not be developed. Newcastles pleasantly modern city limits residential brand new construction homes are visually pleasing, welcoming and popular with consumers.

We worked with Newcastle Homes for realtor and interior design services while purchasing a to be built home from a production builder. It was a genius move the contract and process we re heavily in favor of the builder but Newcastle was there at every step to make sure our needs were properly met. Meanwhile, working with Monica on the design selections made our home come out nicer than any of the others in the neighborhood! Newcastle added tons of value, including incredible peace of mind - good people doing good work because they truly care!

Newcastle built our home (2022) and after about 6 months walls were filled with moisture and mold. Required full mold remediation, 8 weeks of remediation and repair, we were not even allowed to access the home for 4 weeks. The water leaks were discovered before we even closed on the house but they did not investigate the source of the leak - just said it was from wet sanding the garage floor. It was actually caused because they punctured the waterproof seal all along the large 2nd floor deck when they drilled through it to install railings. When remediation was complete, their painters caused a major fire in the garage by leaving piles of combustible chemical soaked rags next to cans of paint thinner resulting in drywall replacement, electrical rewiring, melted epoxy floor and melted garage door opener & sensors. We had to disclose the mold remediation when we sold the home which drove the market value down. It took them 2 years to build our house even though they started and finished many other homes while they were building ours. They already had our contract and money so they focused on quickly building spec homes while the market was still hot.

Lex spends a lot of time listening to us as well as giving us market based feedback that will help improve our designs. He is absurdly responsive and has created a dream team of PMs, superintendents, and other staff members that are incredible to work with. I ve been working with Newcastle for many years. At this point, Lex gets priority treatment from me because I enjoy his projects. Many builders talk about efforts to save trees, but Lex actually breaks out the checkbook and executes the plan we come up with. I cannot say the same for 75% of builders I work with. It s fun for me to see a comprehensive plan put in action. I look at properties before a design gets drafted and he works the project around the trees. It s a lot more fun for me when I m actively working for the trees. The industry standard is to simply do the minimum required by the city. Lex aims at what s right and that s typically a notch above code requirement.

As architects we work with many different builders/developers and Newcastle is the one we are most pleased with. They respect their knowledge of their designers and they build a quality product. They seem to understand their market and build homes that are both progressive and value driven.

We have worked with Newcastle Homes for quite some time and we cant say enough good things about these guys! Of course, the final product of this teams hard work is always stunning (and we wouldnt expect anything less) but we must say kudos to the full staff for a smooth operation from start to finish and the seamless attention to detail on every project. The team at Austin Newcastle Homes is one of my favorites. Lex, Judy, Monica, and the entire team care deeply about making a superb home. They take the time to plan thoughtful each phase of the building process. Although construction has lots of twists and turns they always find the correct path to be successful because they stay on top of it. Im glad to be working with them and look forward to continuing to learn from the best.

We had the pleasure of meeting with Monica and Greg about the house we purchased that is being completed as we speak. We heard that they were great builders, but nothing could have prepared us for the level of professional behavior and flexibility they had when walking us through the construction site. We did not buy a custom house, but it feels like we did, since they were so accommodating with our vision. So far, Im thrilled and would highly recommend them. Will update once the house is done but so far, so GREAT!!!

Probably good builders, but to my tastes knocking down a old house to put up a ultra modern home in my opinion rather dull, and has been done to many times in this city. They really could try remaking an old 70s 2 story home instead of building another ultra modern home. Would be great to see so originalality from the architects that isnt just a copy cat of every other home here in Austin. Not saying I can do better just would love to see a company build something that not everyone has taking the building style for absolute granted.
