Brewery 1 on my brief Austn, TX beer travel. Great selection and good vibe. Got a chance to try only one. The place was very busy and I think they may have been having a speed dating event. I felt I little weird being there solo. I ll have to try again if I m the area.

The Sour Review On the list (left to right on the photo) blues on the green, cloaked in a violet crown, cherry Seinfeld, lil Pena. First Blues on the green. Don t let the rich color fool you, it s not as flavorful as it looks. As what I would consider a mild sour, it s actually the highest ABV of the 4. The blueberry isn t all there, but present enough to make an appearance on the pallet. Next is the cloaked in a violet crown. Not as mouth watering a sour as I had hoped. Bold is not how I d describe it, but the currant (think raisin) flavor is there. What wasn t listed in the flavors was a hint of lemongrass which I appreciated. Third is the cherry Seinfeld. Putting the kettle in kettle sour, this one has the distinct quick soured appeal, as opposed to a longer fermentation and aging period. As a result the ABV is only a 4.6, with a light and crisp taste. Lastly, Lil Pina, a piña colada inspired sour. Flavor-wise it s really good. Tastes like a low acidity pineapple juice. From a sour beer perspective ..it tastes no different from pineapple juice. The carbonation on this one was exceptionally low among the 4. To transcend bias, for kettle sours they are good. I prefer things a little more aged, refined, and flavorful. I think this brewery has potential in its beers, and especially its location. Let s hope they aren t paying for their prime lease with prime ingredient funds. The Light and Hoppy Review. On the list (left to right on the second photo), kayakers kolsch, wit-tington, daily dose of vitamin C, and megalomaniac. Mmmm I can see why the Kayakers is a 3-year-in-a-row TCBG gold winner. The aroma is that of a classic kolsch, slightly fruited but not overpowering. Could honestly drink it all day. Second is the Wit-tington, a GABF gold winning Belgian style. What I would consider a refined Blue Moon, it has the distinct belgo flavors, while being incredibly light in color. The citrus was unmistakable, the spice I couldn t quite identify. Ginseng, perhaps nutmeg. Very good either way. Next is the daily dose of vitamin C, clearly named after the use of prolific American c hops. Coming in at 50 IBU I can see where it would appeal to the IPA fans. I think the addition of grapefruit flavor is an excellent choice and adds to the overall flavor. Last up is megalomaniac, a double rye, West Coast IPA. For an IBU of 75, it didn t seem that much more bitter than the west coast IPA. Definitely a darker more flavorful West Coast IPA. At 8.2% ABV you must be careful with it. Although the Rye IPA lost favor in the early 2000s, I can see a lighter version of this becoming really popular.

One of our favorite local breweries! They always have something for everyone and the staff (especially Seth) are so welcoming. Im personally a big fan of dark beers and my wife is a fan of pale ales and IPAs. They have probably my favorite quad in the city and my wife is a big fan of the Weird Goodbyes pale ale. Since it is adjacent to the city parking garage, parking is never an issue. The Austin Duck tour and some other tours start from in front of the building so the people watching is pretty fun. If youre taking a tour, show up early and grab a beer!

Cool place with good beer, and as a visitor who stays in hotels I appreciate that someone hasnt given up on downtown Austin. They dont have food, which can be a plus or a minus depending on whether you want to bring your own. I came to get some work done while in town and it was a great place for that--not too busy, good seating options, some good low-abv options. There seems to be a designated stop for multiple terrible tour operators (things like Duck Tours) right in front, which provides some fascinating gawking opportunities for the kind of people who do those tours.

Central District Brewing is an unassuming place - no pretense, just beer. I would describe the aesthetic as Spartan, which is my style. There are a handful of different styles and one beer of each style. It s not a big space nor are the offerings numerous. That s not a judgement call, either, just the facts. I d rather a brewery have a handful of beers and excel at each one than have too many and they all suck. Central District fits into the former. I couldn t get away from their hazy IPA.

5 star is only for the best of the best. Most breweries I enjoy are 4 star. Central District Brewing has good beer for sure. Id recommend most of their sours and IPAs and get a flight so you can try them all. They offer a few snacks like soft pretzels and empanadas (I didnt get to try them this time around). The atmosphere is lacking. Yes, theres music playing over the speakers (we noticibly heard a couple songs repeat on the playlist during our 1 hour visit). No TVs for visual stimulation, no games to play. 1 person on staff and shes busy taking care of the front register. And the front doors are wide open when its 50 degrees out, the coldness inside is making me feel like I want to leave and get to someplace warm. Despite my subjective feeling toward this place, it was indeed packed. So maybe its just me. I can definitely say its worth trying once.

The beer was really good. My wife and I both had an IPA variation, and both beers had great unique flavors and they both finished well. I would assume all of their beers are pretty solid based on just these two beers. The bartender on the other hand was non-existent. I stood at the counter to review the selections and read the descriptions and she never looked away from her laptop, or really even greeted me. This continued for a while, again standing in front of her, and I had to ask how to order some beer. She barely responded and poured a couple beers. Our stay and the atmosphere was simple, and some of the decor was nice. Considering we almost left since it felt like laptop time and not a brewery, I had expected our experience to improve and it didnt. After a while, I paid the bill, said thank you, and didnt receive any response from the gal working there. Considering the state of things, maybe this isnt the person you want representing your business. We were here on 9/16/21, around 6pm. 1 star service, 5 stars beer.

Great brews, great service! The decor is lovely too. My husband and I both got a flight and the bartender gave us great suggestions on what would be best in our flight. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we tasted. My only feedback is to have some music playing. It would make the ambiance even better! :)

Came in right before last call, but didnt feel rushed. New GM Chloe was super helpful to a couple of tourists like us. Beer was solid across all styles. Definitely recommended.

This brewery has great beer, I hope they never change that. I had the American IPA and it was very tasty. My only suggestion as a tourist giving my review based on a one time impression and guide is to find an identity for your space unless the hope is to grow bigger. What I mean is the place seemed to lack meaning. It is a beautiful space and clean but I didnt see anything unique. I suppose part of that is the fact that it is built into the side of a parking ramp and business might be down due to pandemic having closed some of the convention centers nearby from the way business was previously. Id also suggest more food options and maybe if you grow bigger a space for parents with kids.

Small craft brewery specializing in sours. Limited food menu, but whats lacking in variety is compensated for in quality. The Come y Calla, Violet Crown, and Rhythm is a Dancer were all delicious. The location is convenient - right next to The Escape Game Austin, street or garage parking, and the light rail. Modern industrial decor with a window view into the brewery. The friendly barkeep mentioned that they do a theme night once a month - last one being 90s themed, with a Tang-inspired brew using blood orange. Ill definitely be back!

This place was the epitome of Austin Breweries. It really does symbolize what Austin is all about. The selections were amazing. I am a Hazy IPA guy and they had at least 4 different ones to choose from. They also had soft pretzels and empanadas if you are wanting a bite with your brew. They do also have cider if you are gluten free. Did I mention the free potato chips?

My wife and I stopped by for a quick bite and a few beers....couldnt have picked a better place. Nice sunny day, outside seating, lots of different beer varieties (including an amazing sour), and the brewer gave us a full tour of the menu. Lovely place, above and beyond service. Will definitely be back.
