LaTonya did an awesome job .. then she got super busy on a busy Saturday. She was really struggling because she became swamped out of nowhere and Birdie showed up out of nowhere and the bar was able to satisfy unruly customers. I was so impressed at the two s composer and upstanding customer service. Birdie totally saved the day and allowed Latonya to do an awesome job bartending. Great atmosphere, great service. Owners should really prepare for concerts at moody to dump into their bar.

Such a cute vibe. Very underwater themed, with unique lighting, decor, and style all around. It feels colorful, yet holds that ocean underwater aesthetic. Very submarine. The drinks are good, the bartenders are sweet, and they offer good happy hour deals!

Not a dive bar! It is a scuba diving themed bar. The penicillin drink did not skimp on the ginger a little pricy, and a $6 up charge for egg whites you can get a whole carton for that!

the bartender was a complete a-hole who denied me service when all I asked for was water. there was no sign stating nobody under 21 could enter the building. he could have respectfully told us but instead had the worst attitude as if we had asked for alcohol.

We were visiting Austin for a concert and found this little gem. The staff treated us like family, and the locals were as friendly as you could hope for. We visited Dive Bar 3 out of the 5 days we were in Austin. They dont serve food, but Belle and Bella will encourage you to order it in! Wonderful experience and an easy recommendation!

This is an outstanding bar and restaurant that everyone should visit when they are in Austin. My wife booked it as a last minute dinner after SXSW and we were amazed by the both food and the service. The ceviche was one of the best we have ever tasted, and the Chicken Entree was excellent. The mocktails were brilliant - we both had one based on Lyres London Spirit, which tasted like real gin, but better. Best of all, our waiter, Jordan, was the perfect host and delivered just the right dose of Southern hospitality to make this a very memorable evening. Highly recommended!

Good cocktails. Seems like a good date spot for a few cocktails before going out to dinner. The atmosphere was awesome as it was rather empty .The LED Xmas tree was cool as we went the day before Christmas Eve. We did not eat here so I cant rank the food at Dive Bar but the menu looked legit. B

We found Dive Bar because it was near our hotel. We went back 3 times because of the great service and quality cocktails. James, the manager, and his bartenders - Grayson, James, and Bella - have created a welcoming, fun, comfortable place to hang out while enjoying consistently well-made craft cocktails. It s fine. I don t think this place has much of an identity. The drinks are approximations of nice cocktails, the decor and spatial arrangement suggest it could be hip, and it just feels uncomfortable in its own skin. The location, I feel, is emblematic if the whole place. It is in no-man s-land between downtown and the university district. I ve been in twice but walked by it dozens of times and never feel compelled to go in.

This is a great neighborhood bar, no frills, but a friendly atmosphere. Kevin greeted us at the door and established where we were from (around the corner) and if wed been there before (yes). My husband talked with a fellow ex-Marine, and discussed non-alcoholic beer with one of the staff. Good turnover, not too loud, and three TV screens. Whats not to like?

There was a review of this place a couple of weeks ago about the bartender snorting coke or drinking. I was with the party complaining about this, and it is completely false. There was a small issue at the end of our night, but the things he said are untrue. I have talked to the staff since and there was a complete understanding. They are very nice and have always treated me great! They play great music and are extremely nice.

This place had an awesome atmosphere and very unique and technical drinks, but you do pay for it. If you are looking for one or two unique cocktails, then this is your place. But if you are looking for a cheap drink, keep looking. My husband and I both enjoyed our drinks and the bartender was friendly.

Ye olde Tyme Dive Bar was my favorite spot in Austin, the only Bar outside of New Orleans or NYC Ive ever graced with a 4 of 5 rating, which had shockingly little to do with it being ludicrously convenient, both geographically and psychologically, to my places of work, or that they just happened to open for happy hour just as I got off of the first job, and was again a pit stop on the bus route home from working the second job with a few hours generally left before last call/ last bus and had almost everything to do with the talented and personable staff, the eclectic mix of patrons that rarely left me in need or want of a drinking companion, the bar stock which was diverse in both variety and economic virtue. Outside of my hometown New Orleans, it was the closest Ive ever felt to having a surrogate bar family where quite literally, everyone knew my name. Okay, so covid came and did us all over, but Dive Bar made their very best efforts to adapt and stay afloat in the myshigas that was the premature and mis/unguided reopening of Texas, but things being what they were, they soon enough took the same header off the proverbial cliff that so many other Austin institutions, some going back 4,5 generations, took and sadly and regretfully announced their permanent closing at the height of that psychotic summer of 2020. Many eulogies were made and we all started to adapt to the prospect of returning to a semi normal life but without a Dive Bar in the mix. Well, grumbling stirred the monied, and here were are about three(??) months after an unannounced and whisper quiet reopening under what is now the second new ownership (the DBA Dive Bar and all remaining and future so branded merchandise was purchased, not the property itself). While Ive yet to firm up my feelings about what the thing is now, its most definitely NOT the Dive Bar I came to know and love, but Im warming up to it more and more. Ive personally found the new staff to be friendly and welcoming, and while maybe not the same vibe is given off as before, said vibes are in the same general ball park. Its the clientele that are bumming me out. That and TW Samuels having replaced Evan Williams in the rail. But it takes time to cultivate a good group of regulars, never mind the small army of dedicated pre covid regulars that had been raised leading up to the Ides of March 2020, and much like my own self,more and more familiar faces are showing up every week, so well let time tell on this one after a proper marination.

I just wanted xtra olives. I asked 3 times for 3 drinks to get xtra olives. Two of the drinks were bloody Marys. With my bloody I was given 2 olives, and no other pickled sides. I would be gtg with an upcharge, it isnt a cheap bar, but it isnt terribly expensive either. What does a girl have to do to get what she wants??? I wont be back because I hate asking for what I want and repetitively not getting it.

I had a horrible day at work so I stopped in on my way home to have a beer a shot and a cigarette (I am not a smoker thats how bad a day). I ask where the smoking area was it was over 100 degrees on this day, and Glenn the bartender went out of his way to make sure I had water when I went out to smoke. Major points for looking out for the customer. Especially since it was busy.
