First time here and I enjoyed it, definitely will go back. The atmosphere is very local hangout and I enjoyed that a lot. I was meeting there for a first date, and Dylan was really kind and make great recommendations. I had a chicken and beef tacos, which I really liked (although the meat in both was a little salty). Everything was really fresh!

The best dive I ve found in Austin. Burgers unsurprisingly are delicious but a patty melt with mushrooms and chipotle mayo is the ultimate. That and the club. And all the potato based sides. The staff is all super friendly and conversational, always has something they re watching other than the sports on every other tv. The Tuesday night trivia has great deals and great questions. Don t miss out on this slept on dinner spot! Wheelchair accessibility: One door has a bump, one door is a straight entrance

Went for Trivia Night for the first time last night (Tuesdays at 7) and had a patty melt with mushrooms and Posse chips. The Trivia questions were fun and varied, and a great challenge! Was pleasantly surprised by a $3 beer deal that night, too! Definitely hit this Trivia Night!

Amazing to think I have been coming here over a decade and have not posted a review! This spot is more than a bar/grill. You are instantly welcomed by some of the friendliest folks in Austin. You can feel the burnt orange energy that it emanates. The generations of folks that have walked through its doors. Grab a lone star and a double cheeseburger and enjoy the experience. Tell JV and Evil that Chavez sent ya :-)

Posse East in Austin: Classic Texas with a Wagyu Twist Just had a fantastic lunch at Posse East in Austin. This place has a real cool vibe a classic sports bar atmosphere with a friendly crowd. For the main course, I went with the Wagyu burger. It was definitely a step up from your average bar burger. The Wagyu beef was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. I couldnt resist adding a side of their battered fries, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside perfect for dipping in ketchup! Overall, Posse East is a great spot for a casual meal and drinks. The food is solid, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. Ill definitely be back to try more of their menu next time Im in Austin. **Highly recommend:** * Wagyu Burger A must-try for burger lovers! * Battered Fries The perfect complement to any burger.

I ordered the fish and chips and a friend got the patty melt. The patty melt was good, the bread was a little crunchy but in a good way. The fish however had a weird taste to it, Im not sure if it was the batter or if it was in the oil for too long. It might have just been a one time thing. The fries were good. I think it is a nice place to go back to if you want to chill with some friends and get some cheap eats.

Horrible staff! Ive been coming here for 45 years but do not tolerate underage drinking and this plus is a magnet for serving minors! I pay a lot of money for my kids to go to school at The University of Texas but will be damn if they destroy everything me and his father have done! They should shut this place down!!!!? Reporting every single time! Not to mention staff smokes meth outside behind this dump! Not safe for families with children! Ever,! I am appalled at how bad this roach infested place has become. Really parents?? Is this what we saved our money for? OMG! NOT,!

The atmosphere is good, but also pretty crowded. The service is good, but not the best. You dont get served instead, you go up to the counter to pick up your food once they call your name so I dont know why they ask for a tip on the receipt, but I gave one anyway. I got a double with fries on the side. The burger was pretty good, but I didnt taste anything special about it... it just tasted like a burger. The fries were mediocre, too soft to consider it good, but it was seasoned nicely. I tried a friends onion ring, and it was actually great and REALLY HOT (burnt my tongue). I had fun with friends, so Ill give it 4/5.

Went to Posse East several days ago with my girlfriend. I had been wanting to try it out ever since learning about it from its inclusion on a best burgers in Austin list. The vibe of Posse East definitely gives dive bar. They have tons of decorations on the walls that remind every patron that the University of Texas is in Austin. They also have a large bookcase full of books, which I really enjoyed since most dining establishments fail to show off a book collection. In terms of the food, I must say that the burger itself (we both ordered the 1/4 pound wagyu burger, but mine had tots while hers had French fries) was kind of a let down. It was very pink in the middle and the bun didnt really add anything to it. That being said, I thought the tater tots were fantastic. If you arent combing the city searching for excellent burgers and you dont mind eating in a bar, then Posse East is probably a good choice for you.

This place is where my peers and I would go after class, sometimes during class while attending UT Austin. The owner JV still runs the counter 20+ years later and carries that same friendly, folksy and fun attitude like no time had ever passed. JV, his staff, and Posse East make for an Austin treasure that allow you to step back in time in a city which has surrendered itself to unfettered growth. Step in on a hot day and enjoy a cold beer poured by good folks!

I was worried that after the huge influx of people in Austin, when I returned to my fav college bar after 20 years absence, it too would be overflowing with people. Just the opposite. Someone turned this once active college bar into a dull, boring televised sports bar full of old, married men who shouldve been home with their families, not watching TV reliving their glory days from high school. Food was cold, beer was not. Hats were... redder than they were orange. Not the old school Austin University bar I remember... at all.

This place is a disappointment. Most of the positive reviews for this restaurant are nostalgic, and need to be updated. The service here is about as bland as the seasoning they use on the hamburgers. The food is not terrible, but nothing stands out that would make me want to return, especially for the price. All of the sides are a la carte, so nothing is included with a burger or sandwich. The small order of onion rings is $4.25 and only includes (5) onion rings!!! AND THEY ARE FROZEN GENERIC GARBAGE What a joke. Why in the world would anyone spend time and money here when C & A is a 200ft walk away? Add some seasoning to your burgers. Try slicing up a real onion, dipping it in buttermilk/flour/seasoning before frying it, and give your customers a better quality product, or at least a better portion for their money. Why would you serve frozen breaded onion rings when a fresh alternative is cheaper? Laziness is most likely the answer. Over priced food. Nothing impressive. Spend your money somewhere else.

My family goes here every week. We love the service, the food, the choices, and the vibe. Perfect for any night of the week and a great place for a few people or a large party. Get the nachos. And the tater tots. And the burger.

The bar service was great. Very attentive. The beer selections were nice as well. I do normally love a smash style burger but the burger here was so incredibly dry that it was really hard to eat. Otherwise the fries were good and it was an interesting environment.
