This Mexican museum is a joke. I bet a non Mexican setup this museum. Do not waste your time here. This place is small and a lot of the displays are not Mexican culture related. As a Mexican myself, I find this place insulting. The worst part of this is they have a painting of the career criminal George Floyd tribute, no one wants to see a painting of that felon in a Mexican museum. This place deserves a way lower rating and needs to be shutdown.

Tiny museum. Interesting art works but poor descriptions. The art was hung on the wall with a list of artists and their artwork on the side but you couldn t tell which was which. The whole visit took us 20 min. If you re in the area and have half an hour to spare, it s worth it. Nice shop of the museum.

The museum is free on Sunday. Overall, it feels more like a gallery than a museum: We saw an exposition of a specific art movement that was broken down by year, but it did not have much coherence overall. I appreciate them showcasing modern artists, however, their selection/curation process is not clear. I do not recommend going in on the days it s not free. As for parking, we found a spot on the street.

This time we went they were in the middle of staging a new gallery, so we mostly had access to just the store. They did have a TV playing slides of all the work and different displays they had set up over time, amazing work. Ive been here several times. I can see there has been thought and intuition that goes into the way they build out their displays and make artist selections. This is not just a random gallery. Theres a lot of heart and soul that goes into what they do here. The only way to understand it is to see it in person. They still had some cool little pieces to look at while the gallery was being updated. We bought some little gift store things we thought were cool. Staff is always 10/10

Keep in mind this is a pretty small museum. The exhibitions are very colorful, vibrant and diverse. the reduced star is not because of its size (sometimes its the smaller special museums that are the best!), but rather - something there I feel wasnt done right in the side of the explanation. Artistic objects there have some sort of a plain paper glued on the wall with just tons of text in small font that fails to convey the idea behind the art installation, or too tedious to read or understand. The explanations in my opinions have to be more friendly, more interactive, and perhaps to make some logical order that makes more sense in the sequence of visiting the museum. Currently it looks like a collection of items (very amazing items though!) but with non-coherent relation or explanation as to what one sees. Some shorter but better info would help appreciate the items and the museum as a whole even more.

I would recommend signing up for their email newsletters to keep you in the loop about events there. The people upfront were super helpful and friendly. The space is filled with art from all over artisans in Mexico. Everything is on display and I would definitely recommend this for all tourist and locals to check out. The gift shop is a great place to go and grab a birthday card or a birthday gift, if you are a part of the Mexican culture, you will love this place.
