My wife (as of August 30th, 2024) and I had a dream wedding here at Brighton Abbey. We were in contact with Emma Weaver and Holly Burton for our planning and execution for our wedding and everything was perfect. There was some miscommunication here and there but everything was solved and honestly were so grateful that the Lord put this venue and Hollys team in our path to becoming married. We ended up choosing a 12-hour Friday to get married, chose the consultation package with Twisted Spirits (highly recommend them by the way...no watered down drinks were served that night!), added the cross to our ceremony, added the photo booth to our reception (this is a MUST if you want an awesome photo experience for your guests!), chose Patriotic Pig for catering (the best BBQ around), had about 100 guests, bright in a charcuterie board from a family member, nothing bundt cakes, and a smaller cake to feed the wedding party from Sweet Art Bakery in McKinney, and Im sure my wife added some other things. There was a lot of last minute plan changes on our end and the staff at Brighton Abbey were extremely cooperative and helpful with making things happen. We feel truly blessed and looking back, we are certain that we chose the right venue for our wedding. Our guests LOVED the venue and the whole experience too. Thank you Holly, Emma, and everyone else at the Brighton Abbey! You helped make mine and Kimbers dream come true <3

WOW. It s truly surprising to see a business so quick to be condescending and rude to a customer that made such a big decision and put their financial trust in you for literally one of the biggest days of their lives. As a bridesmaid to of the brides that left a review and got a rude comment from you in return, I can t not speak to how wrong you are in this situation. Blatantly lying to cover your own mistakes is abhorrent and you should be ashamed. When we arrived at the venue the only people there to greet us were the hair and makeup artists that had no affiliation with the venue at all. After an hour or so we finally went looking for our coordinator since she hadn t shown up to help only to be told by the two girls in the office, and I quote, oh she doesn t work here anymore . End of sentence, no more explanation. I had to pry information from them about who was going to be helping for the day, if this girl was no longer here. We were promised a different coordinator would be there at 2 to help with everything. She showed up at 4. The wedding started at 5. As you can guess, there was a ton of stress trying to set up caterers, dj, etc with literally no help from anyone that worked there. Please do better with your day of service going forward, the brides that are putting their trust in you deserve better.

The venue is absolutely stunning! The customer service however is atrocious. I was moved around from rep to rep causing a huge delay in communication and lots of frustrating confusion. The rep I had for the day of my wedding was let go and the new rep they assigned me did not arrive until 20 minutes before my ceremony began. I had never been so stressed out and when myself and my wedding party went to ask about help from the reps on-site they locked themselves inside their office and would not answer questions. They were very rude about the situation and did not seem to care about the disorganization they had caused. Fast forward to my refundable deposit, they have lost the check and will not answer emails or phone calls about the incident. Not to mention the extra money they owe me for OVERCHARGING me for the venue. I wish I could promote the venue because it is so picturesque, but I would not want anyone to experience the stress caused by the staff.

This is a gorgeous venue, however, the customer service was extremely poor. In the months leading up to my wedding I communicated with 5 different people leading to lots of miscommunication and frustrations. I was assigned a venue rep on the day of but never came in contact with her, throughout the day I was wandering around trying to find help with little luck. On the day of the sound system had many technical difficulties resulting in many delays, confusion, and frustration. The security I paid for did nothing but sit and chat in the office the whole night, not exactly sure why I paid for security. I wish I could have given a better review considering I loved the venue itself, but unfortunately the staff did very little to no help with anything and caused more frustration than anything.

Absolutely stunning venue. Price, policies, and customer service show that they know it, too. Youre going to rent it anyway despite those drawbacks. Our on-site person the day of the event was very helpful, though. One logistical challenge is that the only bathrooms are in the reception area, so people have to walk outside or through the groomsmens room to get to the bathrooms from the chapel. Ask for a cake table that doesnt sag.

Brighton Abbey is a truly magical wedding venue that combines the sophistication of a beautiful chapel with the natural beauty of the surrounding area. As a photographer, Ive had the pleasure of working at Brighton Abbey for several weddings and every one has been absolutely stunning. The chapel itself is breathtaking, with gorgeous natural light that really enhances the overall ambiance. The castle front view is also a major plus - its a unique and breathtaking backdrop for any wedding. As the photographer, Ive had the opportunity to capture all the beautiful moments and memories of of one one my couples wedding at Brighton Abbey, and the photos turned out amazing. The couples have been thrilled with the results, and I know they will treasure these memories for a lifetime. If youre in the market for a sophisticated, beautiful wedding venue with a unique and breathtaking setting, I highly recommend Brighton Abbey. You wont be disappointed!

Attended a wedding a few weeks ago. The venue itself was very beautiful but unfortunately none of that mattered since the A/C in the main reception was malfunctioning. With all the guests attempting to ignore the heat and have a good time, the venue felt warmer than the outside Texas summer heat; I believe that specific day was 102. I sweat through all the layers of my suit after about 45 minutes and was unable to eat any of the amazing catered food being served. I really wish I could have enjoyed the wedding more so but without A/C, its really was just a huge health hazard. After reading some of the other reviews and it doesnt even seem to be an isolated incident, which is just unfortunate. Ive lost confidence in this venue and just pray no one else has to suffer through such neglect.

Hey , It s interesting how the Brian Banner the owner of Brighton Abbey give himself a 5 star google review. How this is not authentic and you can t just give yourself a 5 star after you messed up and knew about the AC situation at least a week prior and even the morning of the event and yet did absolutely nothing about it until many guest complained and left and many requested for some portable AC which was finally brought it around almost 10:00 pm an hour before the wedding event was done. But, then again you were enjoying vacation in Florida (per your team comments) and your team were not allowed to leave to do anything about the hot situation. They enjoyed the cool air on their offices while guests were burning in hot heat. Take some responsibility for ruining their most beautiful and memorable day and refund them in full for messing up their day. They could not even cut their cake in front they d guest b/c it melted and they had to cut it while guest were getting their dinner. So before you place another lame excuse under comment sections along with your immature response another attack of July 3rd think about what you would have requested from the venues and it s owners if they messed up your wedding day knowing they had problems with AC!

With over 150people in the heat of July 3th( almost 105 degrees out side), with capacity for 200 people as they suggest on their website ABSOLUTELY NO air conditioning!!!!!!!!! Management did not inform the host about the AC situation prior to the wedding and also failed to provide at least proper portable cooling units for such a big event! Definitely not recommending this venue for future events. The least they can do is refund the bride and groom for messing up their beautiful day and apologize to them!

Before I start writing this, I read some other reviews, of course, some people had a very good experience with this venue, also some were not happy with the service, then I looked at the venue management responses which included lots of excuses. My family and I attended my cousins wedding on July 3rd at the Brighton Abbey. As the reception began the room started to get hotter and hotter so hot that guests had to leave early and they missed most of the wedding and management did nothing to resolve the issue I m guessing they preferred to save money over bringing a technician to do the job which they were 100% capable of, not to mention that they were aware of the issue from a week before. As I was reading one of their responses they mentioned that they couldn t find someone on a Sunday afternoon, but I find that hard to believe there are 24/7 companies which they could reach out to immediately, I have lots of experience working with several contractors they always have a few techs on call no matter what day or what time they ll show up with just one phone call. I wish I had the option to give this place a negative star.

Unfortunately there is no zero star. I attended my best friend s wedding at this venue, I was looking forward to it. From the moment I walked into the reception I felt that something is wrong, the place was so hot. It appeared that AC wasn t working, at first I couldn t believe it, I was there for a few hours and the guest were trying to cool themselves off by using paper plates! Yes, paper plates and even napkins. Guest were leaving very early around 8:30PM while the reception was planned to be until 11PM. One of the best and memorable moments of each couple at the wedding night is to cut the cake, unfortunately the bride and groom were informed that the beautiful three tier cake was melting and they had to quickly cut the cake, so everyone missed seeing that beautiful moment. For a venue like this, it s expected they take the issue serious and make an effort to fix the AC as this was an emergency situation, some of the guest had some health conditions. I can t believe the management didn t fix it from 5PM that we walked in to the reception until 11PM (6 hours is so much time to fix any AC issues), needless to say that this should not be an issue for a wedding day. We were literally burning there, the outside temperature was 100 degree F, this is Texas and AC not working (no matter of the reason) is insane. I don t recommend this place to anyone, please be aware, this WILL happen to you.

I recently attended a wedding at this facility over the 4th of July weekend. While the venue seemed nice, the reception hall was very poorly ventilated, extremely hot and the A/C system did not seem to work at all. This was very surprising given the appearance of such a place. Almost everyone at this wedding was uncomfortable due to the heat and many people including myself ended up leaving way early. Sadly, I would not recommend this place to others! Also - Apparently, a few reviews down, another couple who got married on June the 25th of 2022 had the same issue who wrote their review on google as well. They emailed the venue on June the 27th but no one responded to them from Brighton Abbey. Another wedding who posted their review on wedding wire had their wedding after July the 3rd weekend and they had the same AC concern. So 3 wedding in span of 3 weeks had their wedding ruined by poor management of owners of this place. Such a shame for such a beautiful place but so careless team.

I will start by saying this venue is absolutely beautiful. However, when my husband and I had our wedding here on June 25th the AC was out for the entirety of our reception. The issue was addressed with staff during our reception, yet no one attended to it. The heat was quite exhausting and not something I anticipated having to worry about when I chose to have an indoor wedding. I was gifted a live painter during our reception and she ended up having to leave early along with many of our friends and family due to the rising temperatures. On June 27th after the wedding, we sent an email to staff to notify them once again of the issue with the AC. We have yet to receive a response. We did this in hopes to prevent the next bride and groom from having the same experience as us. Unfortunately, as I read the reviews today I see that the AC was still not working for the couple who married here on July 3rd. It is very unfortunate as we tried to bring this to the venue s attention prior. I hope it is fixed for the next couple.

If you want a reliable venue, this place is NOT for you! It is not properly managed at all. They will not provide the necessary service and maintenance if something breaks down at your event, including toilets, A/C etc.. My cousins wedding was on July 3rd and the A/C did not work. Many people left early and my cousins beautiful day was overshadowed by overheated guests fanning themselves with paper plates and anything they could find. The cake melted away and it was taken back early to be cut. The repairman was clueless and couldnt fix the A/C. Whats worse is they had a week to fix this! There was another wedding on June 25th, 2022 (see newest reviews) with failed A/C and they couldnt get it fixed on time?! Dont spend all of your money on a poorly managed venue. There are plenty of other beautiful venues who will take good care of you. In response to the owner: It wasn t just less than ideal temperature. It was 95 degrees inside the ballroom in July! And Brighton Abbey had known about this problem for at least a week. See the newest reviews to find that the wedding on June 25th also had failed A/C, MORE THAN A WEEK PRIOR! It was not about getting an electrician out on a Sunday evening after 5 pm. You guys did not care to fix the problem when you had found out it happened the week before. One week is more than enough time to replace a breaker which costs $12 at Home Depot. Other reviews indicate Brighton Abbey provides poor service in the event that anything malfunctions. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!

I was recently at the Brighton Abbey on July 3rd for a family wedding. I am 37 weeks pregnant, and I was not gonna miss this special day. However, this venue made it so hard to enjoy such a day because of not working AC. As a pregnant woman having to sit in a place WITHOUT an AIR CONDITIONER was the most difficult thing I ve ever had to do. I was melting, my husband had to fan me the entire time. The sad thing is that the employees were telling us they are in process of fixing the AC, but in reality that was an actual lie. The entire time we were there which was 11pm at night the AC WAS NOT WORKING once, guests were doing their best to use whatever they can to fan themselves and wipe their sweat of their faces as the wedding went on. I can only imagine how the groom and bride were feeling in this as well having to deal with NOT WORKING AC on their special day rather than enjoying it. And also that they ll have to remember for lifetime this part of their ceremony. Such a disappointment for Brighton Abbey to ruin a most important day of someone s life.

My cousins just got married at Brighton Abbey this past weekend and it was such a disappointment how the management couldn t handle the one job they had it was 102 degrees outside and the AC inside the venue was not working. The room gets hot already with 150 people gathered in one, imagine how much hotter it can get when the AC is not working while people trying to dance and celebrate the couple. All vendors were outsourced the venue didn t have to do anything regarding the wedding preparation the only thing they had to do was to keep the place cool which they failed at the one job they had. And as I read the reviews from the past couple of days I see that the same issue occurred at the wedding on June 25th which means the venue was aware of the issue and had a week to fix it before July 3rd. Seven days is more than enough time to fix an AC. I can t even believe how they can be fine with messing with someone s big day like this, the day that they are going to remember for the rest of their life s. The bride and groom didn t even get a chance to cut their cake because of how hot it was and the cake had to be taken away shortly after the reception began. I truly hope that no one ever have experience such unreliability and disappointment on their big day.

Honestly if I can give this place a negative stars I would. My wife and I attended my cousins wedding on July 3rd at the Brighton Abbey. Without exaggeration we were literally overheated because the AC was not working. I mean sweat coming down our face as if we were outside. Several times we ask the staff if theyre going to fix the situation, of course to get us off the case they told us they are in process of fixing it. Which was a lie the entire time b/c the whole time we were burning HOT!! It is really unfortunate that such a special day as this for my cousin had to be ruined by not working AC and negligent of Brighton Abbey to do what they paid for.

ATTENTION- ZERO stars is more accurate for this venue with its HOT BALLROOM. No one deserves to experience being this hot on their wedding night. My beautiful cousin married the man of her dreams at this venue last weekend. She was full of grace and love and this is what I will always remember of her wedding night because it is important to focus on the positive. I will make this review as short as possible as this venue does not deserve any attention. The air conditioner in the ballroom did NOT work at all. The reception would have been cooler had the wedding been held outside in their courtyard on the night of July 3rd. After several hours, they brought stand up fans to cool down the ballroom; this helped only when I danced directly in front of the bigger fan off to the side of the dance floor. The bride and groom and most guests did not have the luxury to dance off to the side like I did, but I had to since I was in a coma earlier this year and I m still recovering and had to be careful to not pass out from the excess heat. There is so much more that want to write in this review regarding the service that was delivered but I won t as it would possibly hurt my cousin s feelings if she ever read this. There are AC companies on call after hours to address issues such as this but they did not contact one. Interestingly, the bride from the weekend before who had her reception in this same ballroom left a review after her wedding and stated that the AC did not work on her wedding night and that her guests were hot and a vendor had to leave early and some of her guests also left early due to the heat. Why did the venue not address this issue after the wedding the previous weekend? To find the bride s review it seems like Google s algorithm has to be bypassed by clicking the newest tab to see the reviews that tell how the weddings have been for at least the last 2 weeks. I have been 100% honest in this review and I wish I could have written a review that was the opposite of what happened, but this was my cousin s wedding night.

I attended a weeding this last weekend at this venue. The place is beautiful, but the staff is unhelpful and the Ac was not working. For a big event such as a wedding, it is unheard of that no one did anything to resolve the issue before the reception started. I do not recommend this venue.

As I scroll through the older reviews and look at the wonderful wedding before ours, I can t help but envy them. Beautiful brides, handsome grooms, happy guests. That is exactly what we were anticipating. Brighton Abbey has such potential to be a 5 star venue, but due to poor customer service and AC issues, my poor son and daughter-in-law ended up with a wedding that melted all of us away. 10:00 am decorating in the reception hall. It wasn t bad as far as the temp. is concerned, but it was not a room that would be cool enough for guests arriving later. 1:00 Pm decorating the wedding area and running back and forth to the reception area, I noticed it getting hotter. I also noticed someone trying to keep the entry doors from the hall to reception area closed ( I now know they noticed how hot it was getting as well) 4:00 walked into the reception hall and began to sweat .it was already hot and it was void of people at that point. Management had time to rectify the problem. Sometime between 5:00-6:00 I remember management working on a breaker box in the bridal area. Something kept throwing a breaker and they were getting frustrated (AC issues I m guessing now) 8:15 my elderly parents had to leave due to the heat. So sad my son s grandparents couldn t see him dance with his bride or mom. My 86 year old father almost past out. 8:30 my husband s elderly mother asked to be taken home as well. Again, sad!!!! 9:00 on guests were trying to stay and have fun all the while seeking reprieve from the sweltering heat in the hall way near the bridal area and outside (it was actually cooler outside at 9:00 PM 94degrees to be exact) I commend my son s parents for keeping their cool (no pun intended) during the night, but totally support them now in making others aware of this travesty. We are disappointed and would never leave a bad review if the Venue had acknowledged the problem and offered a solution for a night nearly ruined. **FYI our bride was still beautiful, our groom handsome, and our guests while fanning were somewhat happy. Most importantly, we have a married couple that love each other very much

Attended a wedding at Brighton Abbey this passed Sunday Jul 3rd. Unfortunately this place had turned my friends wedding into a nightmare. Imagine this, a wedding venue, packed with about 150 guests, WITH NO AC!!! No AC in a room full of people, in freaking July!!! Everyone was fanning themselves with whatever they found, plates, napkins, etc. Everyone had to remove their jackets and ties and roll up their sleeves. Imagine spending hundreds of dollars on your suit and end up removing them all!! People started to leave at like 7 or 8, while my friend had reserved the place and paid for it till 11 PM so we can all stay late and dance! After hours of back and forth they finally sent a clueless maintenance guy who didnt know what the problem was!!!! One would expect that at this point youll see the staff members rushing in and getting like 10 portable Evaporative Coolers out of their storage and start to ease things while having a professional AC tech working on fixing the issue!! Not at all!!!! No where to be found!!!! I understand things might break, but how fast you respond, provide alternative solutions, have an AC tech, plumber and electrician who can respond to emergencies, these are all on you Brighton Abbey! What a shame this beautiful place is being run by careless management! AVOID this place at all costs, or youll end up with a very expensive nightmare that will hunt you every time you see a video or a picture of your once-in-a-lifetime day!!!

ATTENTION BRIDES!! This review is intended to bring attention to details lacking on Brighton Abbey s (BA s) part, prior to anyone signing a contract with them!! To begin, every attempt was made to resolve issues through email with BA. (1 Star: Owner/Staff & 5 Star: Venue Esthetics) 1. At our 30 day-out walk thru, we were told the guest limit was 175. Our signed contract stated a 200 guest limit. As of today, the BA website states it accommodates 200 guests. Traditionally, wedding invitations are sent out 60 days prior, which is when we mailed ours! The response from BA s owner Becky, after the meeting, was that they learned guests were not comfortable in the wedding chapel with over 175 people. 2. Day of wedding (Sat. 12/2021): we enter the bridal suite at 9:00 am to a clogged & SMELLY bridal suite commode/bathroom, after paying for 4 extra hours to use the bridal suite in its entirety. The response from the front desk girl when told of the issue was WE could email Laurina, our day of person. Laurina was not scheduled to arrive at BA until 2:00 pm. Laurina, Becky (Owner) & Jillian (SM) were emailed by me, and the front desk girl after being told it was her job NOT mine! The toilet was never fixed, no attempt was made to unclog it, other than the gardener looking at it. A plumber was not called as the owner Becky Felt it was impractical with you already getting ready in the bridal suite. We can t help it if the day-before bridal party flushes a non-toilet item down the commode. Seriously? So the rest of the weekend brides are just S.O.L. & made to endure the grossness and SMELL! Just FYI, the bridal suite bathroom is large. So a plumber could have easily gone in, shut the door to the bathroom and fixed the problem. The venue did NOT have supplies on hand to render the issue & smell. 3. The bride discovered the beautiful sliding glass door was missing upon entering the ballroom. We had planned on closing it and opening it upon the bride & grooms big entrance to the reception. When we asked the front desk girl about the missing door we received the same response WE could email Laurina. The response from Becky the owner was It had been broken the week before, tried to replace it but could not have it back in time. If we knew it was such an important element of your daughters wedding day we would have told you about it. They made NO attempt prior to the wedding to contact myself, the bride, or our wedding planners about the broken door. BRIDES, when you rent a venue you rent every element of the venue, if any element of the venue becomes unavailable it is the VENUES RESPONSIBILITY to contact all parties involved! They did not! *That said, a few days after the wedding I contacted the owner by email and readdressed the issues. NO APOLOGIES were made at any time until I addressed that fact, and NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS of extra hours WE PAID were refunded when asked, nor were they ever offered. Becky simply replied Thanks for all the great advice. We will take it into consideration. Have a blessed day. Our day-of venue person Laurina was overall delightful, however NEEDS to arrive earlier to handle issues that arise! The front desk person NEEDS to wear a smile and be helpful, not have an I DON T CARE ATTITUDE! The owner NEEDS to hire a PR person, as she is lacking in that area & only escalates frustrations with her lack of genuine sincerity. *BRIDES, also note that should you break something or create an issue, Brighton Abbey has no problem charging you for that, BUT if BA has issues or problems there apparently are ZERO refunds or consequences for them. *Make sure to have clauses added to your contracts BEFORE signing them, in regards to BA s liability, problems that arise, and have them issue some sort of compensation to you. That is good business practice! Despite our frustrations with the venue & owner Becky, we did not let it take away from the irreplaceable moments of our daughters wedding day! It was an absolutely beautiful & memorable day! Our guests were in awe of the Venue!

The venue itself looks amazing. The service on the other hand, was TERRIBLE. Unfortunately I was required to work with Jillian the venue director . You would think the person holding the highest position at the venue would also be the most professional, that was not the case. Jillian and the staff at Brighton Abbey are almost impossible to get in contact with. Disregard all business hours posted on their google maps business page as they are never at the venue and never available to speak on the phone. You have to constantly communicate through email with various staff members hoping that they are all aware of what s going on they were not. Only to wait days/weeks for simple responses. After having paid the deposit to secure my wedding date, Jillian completely FAILED to show up for the meeting with me and my wedding planner, forcing us to reschedule for another day. Mind you this meeting was scheduled in advanced with the available dates and times she provided but she was unable to attend because she was on vacation and failed to let any of us know. This resulted in a waste of 3 hours of my time considering time traveled to the venue and time spent waiting for Jillian to never show up. After this even I made requests with other staffers at the venue for them to be my contact/venue coordinator but they were simply unable and were afraid to hold their boss accountable. It didn t make things any better when the same thing happened at my scheduled REHEARSAL time the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING!!!! Jillian again failed to show up. Which again, was why I made multiple requests to have someone else oversee my wedding. Luckily someone else was able to stand-in but they themselves were 30 minutes late. This venue was far from accommodating and a huge hassle to deal with. They fail to take their job seriously based solely on the fact that the venue looks better than most and they know soon to be brides will put up with their poor service so they can have a beautiful wedding. Don t make the same mistake I did. But if you do, AVOID Jillian AT ALL COSTS!! You would think the prestigious position of Venue Director would go to those who are most deserving but that does not seem to be the case. Rather than a merit based position, it s just a benefit of nepotism considering she s the owners daughter. IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: If all communication and correspondence goes through your CRM system as stated in your response Then why did I fail to receive a response to an email sent on Monday when I scheduled the meeting for Thursday at 4PM. So you mean to tell me 4 business days passed without a response from your team? At least a response to let me know that the scheduled time would not work? That s not what I would call quality service. As for the extra hour we were given for the morning of our wedding, that was not given to us but negotiated and PAID FOR an extra $200. Although Jillian was not my planner she was appointed by your team to be my venue coordinator. She explicitly stated in our meeting that she would be the person overseeing my rehearsal yet she failed to show. Also, the venue manager was not on time for the rehearsal but 30 minutes late. Which again, I paid for an extra hour for set up. I understand wanting to defend your business, but when you fall short, take accountability and move forward. Rather than spreading lies to try and save face.

Chapel and Reception are very nice. We choose this venue because of the convenience it offered and the good reviews. Service - SHAMEFUL The mens room ran out of paper towels several times and I had to tell the staff. We contracted for 115 quests. 105 guests were at the reception. The all you can eat buffet almost ran out of food. There were 2 pieces of chicken left. Im afraid to think what would have happened if the 10 missing guests attended. For what its worth, the food quality was good. The coffee was cold. No milk or spoons at the coffee station. I had to tell the staff that we ran out of forks for the cake. The last straw - the self serve water container ran out of water. When I went into the kitchen area, 3 young ladies had their faces buried in the phones. The new owner replied, a YEAR later, that the venue was under a renovation. I call BS. There was ABSOLUTELY no evidence of the chapel or the reception area being renovated, painted, etc. Im still wondering how renovations could explain the poor service and running out of food.
