Went there for steak. Service excellent. Staff helpful n friendly. Cheese fries the absolute best. I would definitely recommend. I had center cut filet, husband n daughter had pats ribeyes. 12 Oz was good but 16 Oz was full of gristle, which was a real disappointment.

After a whole day of touring (first w/ a VIP guided tour of AT&T Stadium then a guided tour of the Cowboys training facility at the Star in Frisco), we decided to find a casual steakhouse near our hotel, literally 5 min away. There were a lot of higher rated spots but they required a more formal dress code and we hadnt packed those types of clothes on our trip. The choice came down to Longhorns, Texas Roadhouse and Saltgrass. My Google and Yelp research revealed that Saltgrass seemed to have on aggregate the slightly higher rated sentiment online so we settled on Saltgrass. So we strolled in and noticed there were quite a few ppl waiting in the lobby and we started thinking that the wait would be long but surprisingly the hostess told us it would only be 15-20 min for table which was pleasantly surprising. I ordered the biggest ribeye I could find on the menu. My dad got a 12 oz-er and my brother decided to try country fried steak for the first time. I appreciated the butter finish on top of the steak! My ribeye was cooked 90% perfectly (I asked for medium rare). There was a good amount of meat near the rib cap, radiating outward from the bone, that couldve prolly used more cook time as it was edging more towards rare but I can borderline tolerate rare so it was ok I guess. I have to say, the country fried steak my bro got was not good. My dad and I tried some of it and it had the texture of ground beef??? It was also extremely well done and SUPER dry on the inside which made it difficult to swallow without drinking something. Smoked mac n cheese side was delicious. Al dente noodles and very cheesy. Ceasar salad was mid (typical store-bought sauce). Brussel sprouts underrated (nicely roasted). Sweet potato fries couldve been crispier. Our server Jonathan, was very attentive to us throughout the night. Checked up on us constantly. When explaining the soups of the day to us he forgot to mention that one was a creamy soup and the other was a non-creamy one (just a future tip to provide that info to the patrons as well ^_^). Btw, I cant forget how tasty that Titos texas tea was. Felt like I was drinking a refreshing juice! I was prolly buzzed after leaving the resto and didnt even realize it LOL. Overall, a very solid dining experience at Saltgrass!

Service was good, all but the steaks My husband and myself ordered the same steak. One steak looked like a ribeye but a 16 oz the other was a strip steak not the same or what we ordered very disappointed they need to learn steak cuts especially to the same table ticket was 175.00 not worth it!!!

Overall a great place to eat. Bold flavors house made soups are delicious with the perfect kick of spice. The butter with warm bread along with the super attentive staff is such a welcome and inviting feeling. I do feel the place could be more lit up, the lighting is very dim. I requested lemon and mint for my water and it was given with no issue. This place was the perfect way to end a long day of traveling.

Ordered 2 Quesos with brisket and chips for the appetizer and the Bone in Ribeye with mushrooms to share, a baked potato and a salad for my meal. Everything was fantastic except the main reason you go to a streak house. The Steak. First, I struggled to cut it with a streak knife, then, it took me literally several minutes to chew that bite good enough, to feel comfortable enough to swallow it without choking. I didnt take another bite. I Informed my waitress of the problem and she whisked my plate away politely to replace it. She left my, mushrooms to share, sitting there. I received my new steak just as everyone else was finishing their meals, except for one other person in our party of 7, who they totally forgot about. Well, at least they comped her whole meal. I actually received my steak after she got her meal. My mushrooms were room temperature, didnt eat them, but the steak was good and the potato was excellent. I asked if they would help me out because of these issues. They gave me a piece of cake. Thanks Saltgrass. I dont even know where youd have to go to get a piece of steak as tough as my first one. Seriously. It had to be the oldest, toughest bull in the pasture. How it got inside a supposedly nice restaurant is besides me. My culinary experience was completely ruined. Thanks for the cake.

July 2024 On this visit, we ordered Nachos with the Queso with Brisket, Wedge Salad, Mushroom/Onion Chop, Shrimp Duo, Mac and Cheese, and Salmon Caesar Salad. The dishes were great. And service was great! 2022 I came with a large group and I ordered the Fried Shrimp plate with mashed potatoes and a side of sautéed mushrooms. I asked them to grill the shrimp instead of fry them and it was no problem. Saltgrass always has the best sautéed mushrooms and this visit did not disappoint. Service was really good considering we had over 10 people. The only downside was that the last shrimp I ate was really burnt. The rest of the shrimp was fine.

Visited during late lunch hours, about 2pm, and it was not busy at all. There were maybe 4 tables with guests. The service was extremely slow from getting our meals to paying for our meal. I dont like that the server puts your food into the to go box for you. I think this service should be optional. The inside needs an upgrade and seems kind of outdated.

Phillip was our waiter and from the beginning the was hands down the best waiter I have had in Texas. His recommendations on food, friendliness and personality would make me want to come back for that alone (not to add food to die for). If you haven t been I HIGHLY recommend coming here and requesting Phillip. I got the sirloin cooked medium rare with grilled shrimp, loaded baked potato and a side salad and don t have a single complaint about it. Steak was cooked to perfection (as pictured) and the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. It is hard to find people now days who seem like they enjoy their job but I can honestly say Phillip was a shining star in a now gloomy world.

Food was delicious. Went there for lunch on a Thursday. Had the special of the day, steak and crab cake with a loaded baked potato. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and the crab cake wasn t a traditional cake but a generous portion that had lots of crab with a great sauce. PS: Lots of places only give you a lunch menu but their regular menu is also available at lunch. I ve learned to ask about that at other places and have found that to be the same.

I have never left a bad review before, but I feel compelled to because we had the weirdest waiter who made me and my dad feel extremely uncomfortable. Other guests were near us and said they felt unsafe like he would tamper with their food, that is how creepy this waiter was. I felt so creeped out I mentioned it to the hostess while leaving and she said he is one of their best waiters in his defense. I would compare his demeanor and how he carried himself similar to a serial killer. 1) he poured salt on our table before he sat down our teas, 2) he kept trying to shake our hand, 3) he continued to upsell a restaurant card and dessert after we made it very clear we were not interested, 4) he kept making comments like I can hear everything in a very serious tone, and 5) he was extremely creepy with weird whispering comments. I frequent this location a lot and usually bring colleagues, but will be avoiding it for the foreseeable future.

As a steakhouse connoisseur, I would say this is a pretty average steakhouse. The only reason why we went is because it s right next to the hotel that we were staying at. I was very impressed with our service. The lady served us was excellent. The atmosphere was decent. Cajun Ribeye (topped with shrimp & crawfish) was average. don t get me wrong. The steak was cooked correctly and ribeye had some decent flavor to it. There s nothing that makes this ribeye stand out from a ribeye that you would cook from the comfort of your own home. If you are staying in the area and don t have a better restaurant in mind, saltgrass steakhouse will do the trick. However, there are more flavorful ribeyes out there, trust and believe. The brussels sprouts were good, but I normally get vegetables to be healthy but it had a lot of sugar in it, maybe like a syrup? I mean it tasted good, but I get Brussel sprouts to be healthy. the wedge salad that comes with a steak was pretty good though. I would return if I was in the area and it was walking distance, like if you are near Six Flags. I would not go out of my way to return.

We are from out of town and only went to the Lamar Blvd location because of previous reviews and it was close to our hotel. So glad we went there for lunch. The hostess greeted us and quickly showed us to a table. We had the good fortune of getting Jordan as our server. She is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, made great food suggestions and was spot on the entire meal. The food was delicious, and the experience could not have been better. I called in an order for pickup. When my daughter got home I realized they had forgotten my side. I was just going to overlook that until I realized none of our sides were there. I called the restaurant to inform them I would be sending her back and that I wanted my order freshly made. The first time I called I was put on hold for 10 minutes and no one came to the phone. I called back and requested a manager. The manager listened to my complaint, asked me my name and put me on hold; never came back. I then called back and requested to speak with the manager that placed me on hold. Guess what, no one ever came to the phone. My daughter made it back to the restaurant and a different manager said that he would have her order remade and it would be about 20 minutes. Of course, when she got home the order was not correct. My steak was not cooked correctly, and I could not even eat it. (it was rare; not medium rare or medium well, it was blood gushing rare) It hurts my heart to complain about Saltgrass because they are my all-time favorite, but the service I received on this order was unacceptable. Maybe it would have been a different experience if I dined in. On top of that I had already included an 18% tip for bottom of the barrel service. SMH

My ribs, chicken, & brussel sprouts were cold. I refused it & asked for my bill. Manager offered to remake it & guaranteed it would be perfect. I didnt trust that. He offered me a free dessert. I declined. Its unlikely that I will visit this place again. I suggest you provide your staff with a thermometer to check every plate sent out. My salad, tenderloin appetizer, & bread were acceptable. My tequila had salt on the rim of which I was clear not to have salt. The server Gladice was pleasant during this ordeal. My Friday night was ruined. Not cool Saltgrass.

My experience Sunday afternoon on April 29 was a flop. Ordered 2 Cesaer s, vaquero tacos with fries, chicken friend chicken with mac n cheese, and cheesecake. After placing the order the waiter comes back and tells us that they aren t serving the tacos anymore (very underrated menu item btw). So I order a strip, rare with fries. Salads arrive and the romaine was not crispy and fresh. It wasn t on the verge of wilted and seems like it was wet when they tossed it with dressing. Very sloppy. Chicken fried chicken was overcooked and dry, didn t seem like the marinated breast they normally serve. The cook even cut into it to make sure it was done. It was obviously cooked all the way through based on the color of the breading which was more than a deep golden brown. The cook needs some training, a timer, thermometer, or a combination of all of those. Was happy they served it with a side of the cognac peppercorn sauce I d asked for, even though it spilled all over the plate on the way to the table. But the mac and cheese I ordered no breadcrumbs came out with breadcrumbs. The steak I ordered was cooked to medium, had the server asked about the temp I would have told him but there was no inquiry made. The fries I was served were not hot and fresh but just warm instead. We ate both of the entrees. They didn t taste bad but they should have been better. The sides we only nibbled on. The cheesecake dessert was plated for someone else and not for us. The white chocolate drizzle that they swirl/marble into the strawberry sauce had dissolved into the strawberry sauce from sitting in it for so long. Again, very sloppy presentation. The cheesecake was also cool, not cold, the plate wasn t cold, and we were given two teaspoons to eat it with. I remember it used to be called two fork cheesecake (maybe that changed, I didn t read the menu), I even remember that I have been served with forks from the fridge at many other locations. I have no problem telling my server or manager when I m at the restaurant about my experience, but when I m with a guest to whom I suggested we go there and it s his first time, I ll overlook a thing or two because it really isn t that big of a deal. But had I gone to manager to tell them about my experience and tell them that every single thing (except for our coke and Coke Zero) we were served had a problem, I d look like I m just out for a free meal and it would have looked tacky in front of my guest. Manager, please take the time to pull up my ticket and the cameras. We were sat shortly after 1PM and the card was ran just after 3PM.

Was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to eat here because it was easy. My waiter was super attentive. I didn t love that they sat me next to a lot of other people when there were lots of open tables, but I assume that was a staffing thing. My margarita was delicious. The Caesar salad had too much dressing on it. The steak didn t look like much but tasted really good which is the whole point right??

Im a fan of this restaurant overall but specifically enjoy this location. Im a frequent visitor and Im pretty consistent at getting the Pats ribeye and mashed taters. The steak is usually seasoned and cooked (medium) to my liking about every 4 out of 5 times. I love places that serve you tea and leave a pitcher on your table. The wait staff is always friendly and pays attention to you. Im not a fan of the restaurants open concept layout which imo makes it lack intimacy for a date night but its still a place I enjoy eating at!

I have eaten here for 4 years and this location is awesome! The thing you have to keep in mind with any place is how busy they are. If they are super busy, any place can make a mistake. I usually always get the grilled chicken it was cooked perfectly tonight and I would say it usually is cooked perfectly theres only been maybe one time that it was dry in the 10 years ive been coming to this location.

Like most Saltgrass, you know exactly what you are getting if you visit this restaurant. I cant in good conscious give 5 stars today for just a few reasons. At first arrival, the lobby was busy, but no one knew where the line was to check in, and it was organized chaos. With that said, we did get seated pretty quickly. The waiter was ok, but for us, he was way too talkative. I like to enjoy my meal without all the conversation. He did a good job, though. The bread here is always amazing. We ordered mushrooms and crab cakes for appetizers. You cant go wrong with either. Both were amazing. I really liked the crab cakes with the lemon sauce. The potato soup is not what Im used to and tasted like it was missing something. The meals were as expected, tasted good, hot, tender ribs, and perfectly cooked steak. The couple we were eating with, though, had their fish come out more raw than fish should be. They did take care of it and replaced the dish, but by the time he got his fish, we were almost done. The remake was cooked properly, but it was way over seasoned. Overall, a good, not great visit. I would recommend a visit despite our issues since they are very consistent with good food.
