Customer service was excellent. Although, burger meat was not the best quality, it was palatable and the fries were good. Atmosphere was friendly, but the place could use some freshening up...its a tiny bit cruddy. Would I go back? Yes, Id try them again. I think of it as a little old hole in the wall place to go for a quick bit...will see how it goes on the next trip.

It s been way too long since I ve dined here so my buddy and I, avid supporters of small business, headed north to be amazed. We were not disappointed! The staff (including the eavesdropping manager) are always fun and friendly (including the eavesdropping manager)! Yes, the food is great, but the people are why I keep finding my way back!

The server was nice but the food wasn t. It took a VERY long time, especially considering the time of day and how busy it was. There were probably only 6 or 7 people in the whole restaurant at around 4pm ish. We got 2 burgers and 2 cheesesteaks. The burgers came out cold but the cheesesteaks were scorching hot. They probably couldn t get them out in a close time frame or had to do them one at a time. The burgers weren t anything special. The meat tasted weird/fake. It was probably frozen, it looked grey on the outside. The cheesesteaks were ok but really greasy. We asked for hot sauce and they gave us a Louisiana hot sauce, and a Tabasco inside of a Louisiana bottle (which looked and felt very unprofessional). Nothing was really special. I didn t see or taste anything to give this place another try.

I told the waitress that it was my first time here, and a customer heard me and said the July hamburger was really good, and so I tried it with onion rings and was really good I was at Toms Burgers a few weeks ago and had a mushroom burger and home made onion rings. All I can say is one word DELICIOUS . Close to home and no problems with service by waitstaff either. Tell your neighbors. Great food

My wife and I discovered this spot on our last trip up from San Antonio and have been hooked ever since. The food is amazing from breakfast, burgers, to tacos! You can really tell everything is made from scratch and in-house! The service is also amazing everyone is SUPER friendly and seem to genuinely care about your experience. Last, but not least, the atmosphere is amazing! Nothing beats a genuine diner! Prices are also verrrry reasonable! Run, don t walk to Tom s Burgers & Grill!

Probably one of the best burgers I ve had. You can taste that it was flame grilled and not many places do that any more. Cooked perfectly medium well and you can tell the Mac and cheese bites were breaded and prepared fresh in house and not frozen. I never would have known this spot existed had it not been for LinkedIn. Highly recommended.

My husband and I ate here Saturday August 31 shortly after noon. He had the Southwest Burger with fries, and I had the Old Fashioned Cheeseburger with fries. Both were outstanding. From the first bite to the very last, everything was delicious. The server, Aaron was terrific with an excellent customer service attitude and attentive to our needs. We ve been fans of Tom s for a while. We ve eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Searched online for a burger place and this came up in our search. We like what the webpage had to say. We were not disappointed. For sure that old time diner feel. Our server Carolanne was amazing. Everything is from frozen or a mix. The hamburger patty was premade from frozen, the country gravy was from a mix, and the biscuits were so dense and very obviously from frozen. How they won any contest is beyond me. After deciding to eat local instead of corporate, I feel like I should have gone to McDonalds for the quality we got. It was so disappointing. Save your money.

We went there around 2ish, our waitress was new and confused. I had a cheeseburger, and if their idea of a brioche bun is Kroger brand, they nailed it. Worcester so you couldnt taste the meat. My bro got a chicken, mushroom and swiss sandwich, served on the same bun. $32 for what would have cost us maybe 15 anywhere else, had to beg for napkins and no refill on our tea even though we asked 3 times. Great place to go if you want to be overcharged!

Laid back burger joint! Not a long wait with plenty of menu options. Chips & queso was our appetizer. It was okay, nothing special. We both got burgers cooked to our liking. Juicy with all that fixings that were generous & fresh. We also each got cheese tater tots, they came out piping hot (which was awesome!) with shredded cheese sprinkled on top for it to melt. I might recommend adding some cheese in between the layered tots though so its just not on top. The rest of the tots miss out! Service was good, a friendly waitress that checked in on us often. Check them out, lots of fun burger options (obviously its their focus) to choose from but they also have sandwiches, wraps, entrées etc. with breakfast all day options.

Very nice place. Kind people and great food. This is who we should be supporting, not big chains. The prices are high to break even, on some food items. The burgers are fairly priced. This is a mom and pop restaurant, they dont have that many workers. The service will be slow(depending on the time of day), but the food is worth the wait. The owner is running around, working. Take your family and enjoy a great meal, and without the cleanup. Please dont forget to tip your waiter/waitress.

Ate here for the first time yesterday after eyeing this place for a year plus. The food was good but the only reason I gave this a three star instead of 4 is due to the owner Mr. Tom made me feel comfortable and wanted there. The rest of the staff just treated me like a tool and I really started to just leave with my food but I truly enjoyed Mr. Toms hostility. So I do want to thank him. I will eat here again one more time and if the staff cant treat me as Mr. Tom did I wont be returning anymore. Dont let this post discourage you from eating here tho. To each they own. Drove 45mi and was pretty disapointed. Finally got order made and waited awhile for what was to be two stakes well done with our sides. Had 2 stakes ordered with Salads. Kept waiting for salads but waitress finally showed up with 2 philly stake sandwiches. She took them back and eventually brought salads. Then finally brought our stakes out but were not well done. Friend sent his back and knew as quick it come back it was not well done yet. Mine kinda Medium. He only could eat about half. Waitress was not one of the friendly we have had. Ordered a steak well done and it came out with pink in the middle to rare for me send it back came back the same way. Probably maybe Im just too picky but I like my steak well done. This is such a fun, retro restaurant. We were greeted promptly and shown to a table right away. The restaurant was probably about 60% full, and it was quiet and easy to have conversation. The service was excellent! Our server was helpful, friendly and she ensured we had everything we needed. I had the A1 burger and really enjoyed it! The fries were fine, nothing special but good with the burger.

Loved this place! The staff was awesome! The decor and design is pretty cool. The food varied. My hickory burger was delicious. The onion rings and tater salad were outstanding. The waffle was not impressive. My date only ate half her burger so i decided to try it and the meat tastsd like a premade lower quality patty you would get from a discount market. NOT IMPRESSED. The fries were semi raw inside...tiny pieces of bread on the Rueben sandwich (inflation portion) + bottle water for $18. I ate part of the food after paying over $18 and came to the restaurant that Im at now to have a good meal. Its ridiculous that I had to buy 2 lunches today. The service is friendly here but theres no value with their pricing and the food if below par. I wont be back. I highly recommend you dont waste your appetite on this place!

Well, I dont believe in racism. I just believe in good/ bad and right and wrong. But when I tell you my experience here was like a movie of a blk man ending up in a part of town he shouldnt be, this was it lol. And I was soooo craving a burger or breakfast. But I walked in, and NO ONE, I mean NO ONE, greeted me. I sat at the bar, and NO ONE I mean absolutely, NO ONE acknowledged me. No water and napkin, no Hi, Ill be with you in a second! NOTHING!! Hell, even the cook back there looked at me with utter disdain, as if he was thinking, Why are you here? At the time, and Ill emphasize, AT THE TIME, I was the only colored man in there. The families were eyeing me with looks like....Boy, what are you doing. Like legit, I thought I was in Jim Crow South Alabama. But the straw that broke the camels back was when I turned to my left after what felt like 20 mins of sitting, unacknowledged, I turned to my left, seen a big belly cop, sheriff, police, whatever, looking at me, chewing on snuff or something, legs wide open, radded back in his seat, and WOULD NOT I MEAN WOULD NOT TAKE HIS EYES OFF ME. Staring with a look that could burn you like sunlight in a magnifying glass. Well, at this point, I got the message and told myself, I dont think you are supposed to be here. I picked up my keys and left the building. Since I moved to Arlington, I been seeing this place with the silver roof and telling my lady, hey I believe they may be cooking some dern good food in there and Ive always wanted to go. I went, mouth watering for a pecan smoked burger, and I was met with that experience. I could be wrong and over thinking, but what made me get the notion that something wasnt right was the fact I sat right at the bars end , close by the register, and the waitress passed me up more than 10 times, didnt blink at me or even say hello. No water, no nothing....so I felt I wasnt welcomed. But booooooy, I wish I couldve had that pecan smoked burger. Lmbo but...eeh, meh.......things happen!

Tom s has been a favorite of ours for quite some time. From a traditional, classic style breakfast to enjoying a 1/3rd pound breakfast burger with all the fixins! We love it here .. and have been guests since it BECAME Toms. It used to be a Denny s and then some sort of fish restaurant but it s been Toms for years now.

This was a fun outing. A good old diner that had lots of memorabilia on the walls. A great variety of food. I had chili and fried pickles. Good flavor with a hint of spice. The fried pickles were tempura battered and were crispy. My son had chili cheese fries and the spicy burger. He ordered it. Its medium rare and it came out perfect.

This place is a cool throw back style diner. They have a huge menu with a little bit of everything. We all got burgers and they were absolutely delicious. The fries are made there and so good BUT everything is Ala cart (think 5 guys or Fat Burger) you buy the burger and fries separately. My sister and I including her boyfriend just left the hospital after hearing our dad was in a coma. Joseph was our waiter and not only did he take care of us he let us enjoy our meal without constantly checking up on us. Which who doesnt want to take be bortherd all the time with every bite you take We over heard a waitress talking mess to him and as she walked away stated out loud to another coworker that waiting tables isnt for everyone. We were in shock! First of all that type of opinion will loose customers and not only that but report you to your manager. Before we left we made sure Joseph knew what a great waiter he was and how much we appreciated him. We spoke highly of him as we continued to enjoy our meal. Let me tell you Joseph got a tip he deserved and it wasnt a lame five dollar tip either Be the light that the world needs kiddo and above all stay positive.

Let me start by saying, I ve been in North Arlington since 1987. I ve seen restaurants come and go and was always amazingly impressed with Tom s food quality and service. That being said Tonight after a 13 hour work day, I ordered food to go for my mom, my wife, and me. Two BLTs (one w/soup), and one California Chicken Sandwich. When I got home, one BLT had no bacon (asked for applewood smoked), chips instead of a side of soup, and a chicken sandwich with chicken so undercooked, I couldn t tear it apart with my hands. I called to ensure my order was correct and was told, Oh man, I got you next time. I remember you. After realizing the other problems with the order, I returned to the store to simply ask for a refund. I was met with animosity, sarcasm, and laughter in my face regarding the mistakes on the order by their waiter, Tom Lee. No apologies regarding the raw chicken or completely wrong order, only laughter and a nonchalant attitude while leaning carelessly against the wall laughing at my frustration. The manager, although apologetic for the wrong order, saying, mistakes happen , never seemed to deem it necessary to correct or apologize for Tom Lee s behavior. I eventually received my refund after excessive complaining and describing the problems with my order, but only while I continued to be mocked and treated as though it was my fault that the order was completely incorrect and/or uncooked. I ve met Tom on many occasions, most recently at the gas station at Kroger to talk about things such as how much I loved his restaurant. Unfortunately this won t happen again. I wonder if Tom even knows who is working there or what quality of food and service his patrons are receiving. Multiple health code violations over the past few years (public information; look it up) would make me think not. It actually saddens me to know that this long time North Arlington eatery will most likely soon close due to experiences like this. Sorry Tom. Your unobservant ownership and people like Tom Lee did it. Might think about that for your future endeavors.

Tried asking one of the waiters that has a white highlight on her hair a question she saw me walking her way and she walked away fast to ignore me and went to go watch a movie on the screen left me standing there when I went back to my seat she was went back. They need better training. I will not recommend.

The building is modeled on a diner in Daytona Beach where we ate while visiting my brother. Nostalgia is nice sometimes. The food is delicious. I like an egg white omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and sometimes chorizo. Why not? Marble rye toast and tomato slices. Breakfast all day? You bet your boots. The service is great. Its nice to have a family away from home. Right around the corner. Also, Tom is great. He will talk to you about anything. His ideas about food and family are profound. Love this place! Parking: You park your car. Whats too explain? Kid-friendliness: They are free to roam.

Joint needs a MAJOR face-lift! First thing I noticed when I walked in is how dirty and cluttered it is the foyer. Not a good first impression! Second was the musty smell emanating from the old, strained carpet. I almost walked out after that, but I was meeting someone. Worst of all was the mens restroom, Ive been in Mexican gas station bathrooms that were cleaner. The food is your typical dinner fare. I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The burger was cooked to order, and the first couple of rings were great, but once they got cold, they were limp and greasy. Unless they clean the joint, I wont be back.

Old timey diner vibes initially attracted me to try this place out. My dinner companion and I were treated decent enough by the wait staff. Slow service. Food was greasy and bland. Only other table of customers made rude remarks about everything. I would avoid if you re not a local. Kid-friendliness: I wouldn t bring a kid here after the sun sets.

I stopped in for lunch as Ive only had breakfast here. It was okay. I had the mushroom swiss burger and it was dry. I ordered the onion rings and they were too thick cut in my opinion. Tasted more like I was eating thick slices of raw onion. Server was nice, I may return and get a sandwich instead of a burger, because it did look good on the menu as well. Breakfast is always good though.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while and today i finally went, they sat us down and before we even sat down she immediately asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for waters since we didn t know what drinks they had. She dropped off the drinks and never came back. I could see the girl talking to her coworker and she never once asked us what we wanted to order. After almost 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to walk out. Amazing food with VERY relaxed hours. The hours seem to be whenever they feel like opening, so never go by whats posted on their front door. Just left there after going to one of our favorite restaurants that stop serving breakfast early. Ended up at Toms. Our waitress Kay was absolutely amazing and made our visit exceptionally pleasant and exceeded our expectations. She kept our coffee full and our order came out exactly as requested and perfectly cooked. Kay continued to check on us throughout our meal and engaged in conversation several times. She was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back and ask for her specifically. The food was awesome, well cooked and the place is clean and inviting. I highly recommend this place and their warm welcoming attitude. Kudos to a great team at this location. I will definitely be back for another great meal. Parking: I cant speak for other days when I wasnt there. However there was plenty of parking available today when I arrived on a Saturday midday.

50s style diner known for their burgers and chicken fried steak. I got the shroom burger and my bf got the a1 burger and fries. They both tasted good but I liked mines better. The fries aren t that bad either. They come out unsalted and you can salt and pepper them yourself but they re not bad crispy and not too greasy. My burger felt healthy. The shroom was big and actually felt like a patty. The A1 burger was good too. Both burgers weren t too greasy, they came out kind of gourmet and I would liken them to JR Bentley in Arlington (now permanently closed). I would try them again and this time try their chicken fried steak that s won them food awards.

Place was very clean with the 1960s feel. Bacon burger was cooked perfectly, I asked for medium rare and they nailed it. Bacon was crispy and onion rings were good, I could tell they used sweet onions as I could taste it, dipping sauce was good too. Waitress never let my cup get less than half empty. This was one of the best burgers Ive had in quite a while. If youre in the area, be sure to stop in. Will definitely go back.
