Not a lot of options for people who don t eat meat. I get it s a steak house but not everyone in the group wants to eat animals. The vegetables from the side menu come are not fresh and the same bagged stuff frozen from the grocery store.

menu could list more ingredients and be more descriptive. prime rib soup is more like pot roast soup, with more mushrooms than meat, but still good. Caesar salad is great. ribeye was excellent. not sure why the difference between the picture and what was served for the stuffed shrimp, but it wasnt bad. a bit on the noisy side, just be aware if youre looking for a place for conversation.

Make sure you walk in the correct door or you end up circling the dining room looking for a human that will acknowledge your existence as a fellow human, gotta guess as the correct door is not indicated in any shape fashion or form. Once we found somebody that said hello, we were told to seat ourselves in this area. Took ten more minutes for someone to arrive as our server and take our drink and appetizer order. Two unsweetened teas, one sweet tea, one coke, one dr pepper, two kid sprites and an orange juice came out as three sweet teas, two cokes, kids drinks were correct (should have taken this as an omen and left salvaging the evening but pressed on, regretting that decision). Appetizer came out and we placed our order. I cannot fathom how these rib-eyes are smoked and aged for twenty days. The texture reminded me of Swanson frozen TV dinners, excessive fat (well past marbling) and lots of gristle. Ive gotten better steaks at Waffle-House. The salmon was offensive. Both tasted as if they were frozen and cut with a ban-saw when its ordered and thawed as it cooks on the grill. The steak fries left much to be desired. What was the worst part of this meal is three steaks, salmon, and four kids chicken strips and fries were ordered, when the order came out, one chicken strips and fries were delivered. Three of the children had no food. Our server stated she thought the four kids would be sharing two chicken strips even though there was a lengthy discussion about how many pieces were in the kids and actual meal, then said one order per kid so four orders. We werent going to eat in-front of our hungry children and we went there to eat together so we waited, which made the meals cold. Later in the meal what I have to assume was a supervisor as she never introduced herself issued us a blanketed apology in passing, sorry bout the mix-up and left. Despite the kids meals being forgotten they were on the ticket first try. No compensation made just the empty apology. I asked if there was a military discount and was told no. Spent $200 on a meh at best as what is very kindly referred to as a meal. Next time I think I will choose to skip the meal. I would say the drinks were the best part but the machine needs to be calibrated as the sodas were all but flat. The best part of the meal turned out to be the bread that we got after the appetizer was picked up. Not certain what we paid for, just having a difficult time justifying returning. Oh another major problem was sweating the entire time as the blinds were up and ac not pushing cold air. Not sure if the ac was broken or yet another over-site. In all was $200 to seat myself almost flat beverages, generic at best food, and an absent server. Had to chase her down to get the check and again to pay. Parking is a good distance from the doors.

This steakhouse sits in a planned community with the retail and hospitality on the first level and living spaces above. Its not visible from the main highway, so it doesnt innately grab traffic. We tried it based on a Google Search. Heres what we found Atmosphere: Tries to blend upscale with roadhouse. Lots of open space and some rustic or brick elements, but with polished black tables and an upscale set up. They went with the industrial exposed ceiling look. It was definitely out of place for what you would expect from a great steakhouse, almost like it wants to be a downtown Brazilian Steakhouse or Bistro. Lol. Leaving those expectations aside, it was fine. Not a lot of traffic and clean. Service: Not bad, but not great. Lots of young kids working there. Our waitress seemed slightly offended at something, even though we were all cheerful and polite, so maybe sensitive about something and off-putting at times, but she did her job. Food: In the steakhouse game, I think its below par. It was good, but I feel like Ive had better, but then again, my bar is kinda high for steaks, so I gotta give them so grace. Honestly, it was what you expect from the ambience. If I walked into a loud wooden board, packed house with checker table cloths and loud live music, Id have different expectations. Lol The Ceasar Salad was Excellent, so they did something very well. And the steak wasnt unenjoyable, it was good, just not a 5 star Overall positive. For the price, a bit under expectation. Seems like its good fit for what its trying to be though

X- Steakhouse has great promise. Let s me start with the good: The steak was cooked to request. That alone may be enough for people in Google world. The rolls were exceptional and the dinner salad was large. The cons: Our server was absent often during our dinner. She took our drink order and appetizer order and the poof! We got our drinks and appetizer and then waited about 10 mins before she came back to take our meal order. We were her only table and the staff stood within eye shot and stood around talking. My steak as I said was cooked perfectly, but was about 1/3 fat. When you order a good steak you should expect some fat, it makes it tender, but not 1/3. I believe that X is a good place to eat but not somewhere I would call a steakhouse I would frequent.

Wife has been asking for a while to eat at X- and last night we did. Was seated promptly but waited for a while just to get water. A waiter came by and did give us water and told us our waitress would take our drink order. She did come by to tell us she would be right back. Another long wait and she ask for our drink order, by this time we were ready to order our meal. She insisted on just our drink order and we settle in to wait again. When we di get our drinks, she took our order. Then thigs went into warp speed. Just as we got the salads 3 staff show up with bread, our meals and rushed off. At this point I feel like we are paying steak house price for fast food service. The waitress gives us our check and states, Please come back, your next experience will be worth your while !?! So you scalp your first time customers and promise better service on reward points?

5/11/2024 My first visit to this restaurant. By far this was the most I ever spent at a restaurant. It also proves you dont always get what you pay for. We went out to celebrate an early Mothers Day with my wife, daughter-in-law , and four grandkids. The food was good. I only wish they had not spent so much time messing the orders up. We had to switch food at the table with each other to get our orders straight after we started eating. We did not want to send anything back because we did not want to delay our meal anymore. Even then we had to wait for other items to catch up. By that time some people in our party were already halfway finished before others had started. Accuracy of the order is one of the most important traits of an excellent restaurant. I do not blame my waitress because it was the way the food was plated. There is a very good chance I will not be going back.

The staff was friendly and we got seated according to our reservation. We ordered the stuffed jalapenos, which were good. It took 45 minutes for us to get our entrees. The food they brought to the table was cold. I ordered the prime rib, with the loaded steak fries. The center piece, of the prime rib, was raw...Im talking raw. The cheese on the loaded fries was cold and had coagulated, which shows how long my order sat in the window before making it to the table. One in our party ordered the NY Strip medium rare, it came well done. The asparagus that was ordered was way overcooked. We thought about saying something, but it took us 45 minutes to get our food and it was already past 9 PM. The food was so bad, no one had the appetite to finish their meals or take it to go. We will not go back and I cant recommend this restaurant. We left the restaurant 3 1/2 hours ago and Im still waiting for my stomach ache to go away.

My family and I spend thousands of dollars a year at X bar and I have never been so disappointed in the service. Generally it is great, I have not seen most of the wait staff before. We waited to be served at our table, no one can and went to the bar for a drink and the bartender wouldn t severe us because the waitress just went in our room . At least we didn t have to wait 2 hours past our reservations this time.

We are SO open minded that being said, we went here for our anniversary.., this is NOT the place to go for a classy, intimate meal. The food is fair at best it s loud, the poor waite staff & customers didn t have room to get by each other due to the tables being so closed together. Our waitress was great the restaurant was NOT nor was the food. Buyer beware..They were nice enough to give us a discount but don t waste your time nor $ on the X Bar steakhouse, & this is from a gal who gives EVERYBODY the benefit of the doubt but not this place the worst for an intimate, anniversary meal.

Spent $150 on a dinner and drinks for two. I told the waiter that one of my items had an unusual taste and I wasn t upset nor needed a refund, but that we d just feed it to the dog. I lost my appetite. 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant, we had to pull over so I could throw up. My date has been on the toilet and sick as dog for nearly 24hrs. When I called the next day to share what we were experiencing with the staff, all I got was a not our problem then don t come back. I ve never had an experience like this where we are both violently sick from a dinner. The absolute disregard from Rowdy today made it all the worse. 1 star

First time to visit and had heard positive and negative comments. Will have to say wanted to give a 5 star and up to the steak everything was perfect. Great drinks from a good bartender that knew how to make cocktails, to the friendly waitress and excellent service. Fresh blue point oysters were as good as I have had anywhere, dinner salad with thousand island dressing excellent. All timely yet not rushing service to get you in and out. Relaxed atmosphere and an overall great experience. I hate to mark them low, but split a 16 oz ribeye and they brought it split from the kitchen which was very nice. Both generous portions and had a great flavor. Only issue the ribeye was tough and hard to chew for a ribeye. Was more on the consistency of a sirloin (it was definitely a ribeye, just tough). We will be back and try the other entrees, but for now the steaks will not be my 1st choice.

Had a reservation and still wanted 30 minutes for a table. Was sat by the bar which was packed. Had a gentleman standing at the end of our table who was bumping the table all through our service. We ended up eating at the X-Steakhouse by chance on our way to Mesa, Arizona. It was so delicious with a comfortable atmosphere, reasonably priced menu, and excellent service through very friendly staff; that we had to stop back by on our way home. Wish they were closer to our home. Looking for recommendations: the prime rib is the best we ve ever had, the stuffed shrimp is so delicious, and pair both of them with their delicious potato casserole. We love the place. The food and service are incredible here but its so loud inside I cant even hear people at my table. They need major sound dampening in this place. This place was awsome - Jaceline was our server - she was great - had a chat with the manger - he was very friendly and you could tell he really cared ( we did not have a problem ) would go here again - we felt the prices were reasonable and the place really hit the nail on the head for what we wanted . We did see a customer being completely ridiculous on their part- both Jaceline and the manger could not have handled the situation better ( the customer was completely out of line ) and they truly tried to please them . The food was cold.I ordered the prime rib cooked med rare and it was dry and way over-cooked. There were 7 in the party and all the baked potatoes were cold and wouldnt even melt butter. Two people order veggies and the carrots were cooked on one end and crunchy on the other. The steaks were not bad., they just werent hot. For the money and the quality I would say stay away! The side salad was all that was good but we had to ask for more salad dressing because it was served so sparingly. The server only did what you ask. He anticipated nothing but he did refill drinks if you ask.

Normally very good food but my chicken cesar salad last night was soggy with watered down dressing. The hair found in my salad was a nice touch as well. The place has a very loud and echoing atmospher thats certainly non accomodating to conversation at the dinner table. The table next to us was being over served with alcohol and the intoxicated patrons added to the uncomfortable setting. You can only blame all of this on management. I wont be going back.

The Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini was delicious. Could have done without the sugar rim, it was extremely sticky and ran down the sides of the glass causing a huge mess and the cocktail was sweet enough without it. We had the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious. Steaks were good. My blackened redfish was ok. Needed a little more kick. Creamed spinach was weird. Creamed corn was very good. Our waiter was less than attentive. When he brought steak knives to the table he was holding them by the blades. Dont know about you but that grossed me out. He came by to offer us to go boxes but didnt ask if we wanted dessert. It took forever to get the ticket then he never came back for payment. My husband had to go to the bar to pay.

Went here on a date for a seemingly nice dinner but I was thoroughly disappointed by the quality and atmosphere of this restaurant. Firstly the concrete floors make it impossible to talk with your party and the decor feels boring and very lacking. My steak was served undercooked and was so tough I needed a power saw rather than a steak knife. You can order a steak from Golden Corral at the same quality and flavor for a third of the price. Will not be returning.

Lets start with the bar layout.. modern, chill, great music, not too loud(went at 11am on a Wed ). They had Friends playing on TV. The tables werent too close. Our server, Maria, was awesome. I asked her to add more cheese to the asparagus/spinach dip and she just brought a new one. The smothered chicken was the best Ive had..I had brandy sauce added. Their cokes are good; most restaurants fail at that. The water served was not from the tap. Thanks for that Overall, a win!

We had an amazing time. We came with my brother and law and his wife. They were very busy even had several tables with kids dressed for prom! But they were very efficient the staff worked very well as a team the were all very kind and respectful the waiter was so nice the hostess girls were the sweetest and everyone looked like the truly enjoyed their job. The food was phenomenal! Definitely will be visiting again soon!

Wow, appalled at this place. Its Sunday evening, not busy. Our waitress was polite, but sat at the table next to us chatting with friends that were dining. We waited to order a long time because she wasnt paying attention. We asked for the dinner rolls, which others seemed to be offered. Fine, she forgot? No big deal. Then the Caesar salad had dry crunchy parmesan on it. Told it comes that way- doesnt matter, shouldnt be served. My chicken was ok, veggies were weird- broccoli completely steamed, yet the carrots were soft outside, raw center- squash was some steamed, some raw still. Why? Thats unpleasant. My partners steak was ordered medium rare, came very well done. Sweet potato fries were good though! Oh, the tea was stale and old. We did end up asking for the manager and 2 came out, seemed to care. Were gone for 10 mins then did comp the meal, thanks. But in trying to tell them what all happened the woman got very upset and said Ill take all your criticism,but anyways... Anyways.. trying to end the conversation. She did not care. Then told us do not come back almost yelling. Immediately turning to the friends at table next next to us and complaining about us. What?? Very unprofessional, we werent yelling and had every right to inform them how things were. We thought this would be a nice new place to eat, but Applebees wouldve been better. Really, the fancy suggestive name and building is all youve shown. Likely make all your profit off the bar, if we were drunk, Im sure we couldnt have tasted that food! Good luck here!

I visited with my family for an occasion. Our server and service was fantastic, very kind, succinct, and hospitable. However- everything else about X- was mediocre. From the art on the walls, to the poorly made drinks, to the less than good food. My old fashioned didn t have a balanced proportion of bitters to sugar nor was properly stirred to dilute. Bad drink. The meat was remarkable- I thoroughly enjoyed the beef quality. However the plating/presentation, portion sizes, and seemingly frozen vegetables were less than intentional, creative, or exciting. I m surprised the kitchen was proud to put those plates through the pass. Whole baby carrots at a high end steak house? C mon guys. Do better. As I said- service and hospitality was great. It just seems that both the kitchen and bar lack basic technique and care. Better off at OHMS, Drunken Oyster, or Metropolitan for quality fine dining in Amarillo. It s a shame to see places like this with so much potential settle for mediocrity and complacency. It keeps our communities palettes and minds stifled, and small. It s offensive to anyone who enjoys quality drinking and dining. Do better.

This place was so loud we could hardly hear ourselves talk. We came here for our anniversary dinner. We made reservations for dining and they seated us in the bar section. We later moved over to the dining area and it was still loud,but better. The food was just ok for the prices...After all the moving around the food turned cold. Maybe this place would be fine for a party crowd ? .....Ill stick with Longhorn Steakhouse all the way around! Our waiter tried to help us make our experience here a good one.. TY so much ,AVERY! Man I m just super disappointed. It seems like the price point and the quality don t align at all. I ve given X several attempts as I know how the first stages of opening a restaurant can be. Working out the logistics and what not. The steak is sub par, unevenly cooked and lack flavor. I am a salt and pepper guy so it doesn t take much to appease me. My wife ordered steak tips in mashed potatoes and the steak was raw. The jalapeño poppers I ordered were raw as well. In my opinion it s best to boil the jalapeños, then stuff them, then bread them and fry them so they re soft and not crunchy and raw. The dishes that were brought to my kids looked like something they pulled out of the deep freeze and threw in the air fryer. This is my fifth attempt. Unless I hear a groundbreaking update about X Steak house, I ll likely not go back.

Doing this review was difficult because as much as I wanted to give it a 5 star review I couldnt. Let me start off by saying that this place is great! The service is great, the drinks are spectacular and they have a great wine list. The thing that killed it for me was the star of the show... The steak. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye with mixed veggies and asparagus. The veggies were absolutely perfect and so was the asparagus. The steak was cooked exactly how I ordered, I have to admit it was probably the most tender steak I have had around town, it melts in your mouth. But all good things aside the steak had absolutely no seasoning. No salt, no nothing (at least I couldnt taste it) it was so bland I had to add table salt to give it some flavor.

My husband ate here last year and it was amazing.. we were so excited to eat there lastnight but it was terrible.. the crabcakes were cold.. my husbands steak was over cooked and dry.. and my potatoes and rice were cold the only thing not cold was my red fish but it had no flavor at all which was surprising considering it had a sauce ontop. Have been 2x and both times the service was very poor! 1st time, ordered my steak medium rare closer to rare and the servers response was to roll her eyes and say pick one. Had to wait for everyone at the table (10 people) to have an empty glass before we finally got a refill. 2nd time was a company party and it took almost 30 minutes to get a drink, we also had to ask for our salad when our steaks were brought to us and the steaks were cold before we finally got a knife to cut them with. Long wait for drinks, cold steak and poor service, pretty pricey for not so good experience! Would NOT recommend!!

Our server was training a new server, and they were both amazing! Dont forget, our country, and businesses are having a hell of a time finding people willing to work, so it was good to see this! They were very attentive and came around at what I would say is the appropriate amount of time to check back. I had the grilled shrimp with asparagus and wild rice. Both were delicious! My husband had the rib-eye with crab cake and wild rice. Again, delicious and cooked perfectly. We were seated in the bar dining area and the atmosphere was very nice. They also have a nice patio area that looked fun. We give this place a 5 rating! Cant wait to come back next year@

I was over charged and treated terribly after questioning the number of items on my ticket. When I asked the server about it she brought the manager, and he was ruder than I ve ever encountered. It was Rowdy Leal who represented himself as the owner. I will never return after the way I was treated and paraded about all of the staff. He was condescending and unapologetic about the situation. Not the customer service I would expect from an establishment here locally.

Last night, my fiancé and I ate here to celebrate my birthday. Until this point I hadn t been able to try any of the triad of restaurants (Cada Vez, Metropolitan-A Speakeasy, and X-Steakhouse) found in the middle of town square village. First to start off, we had stuffed Jalapeños with a glass of Primus Wine and a Caramel Apple Sangria. For our main course I had the Shrimp Platter while my fiancé had the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon with a White Chocolate Pumpkintini and a Pomegranate Martini. Overall, we loved the food. The portion sizes were big for how much the food costs. Not only that but the food was cooked really well and were delicious. You will definitely be satisfied with the food for what you will pay for. Another tidbit, if you go and want to drink, definitely try the cocktails. They are every bit as delicious as they re look being described in the cocktail menu. So definitely try the cocktails. You won t be disappointed. Next time we go, we will definitely have to go specifically for the steaks since their steaks come from beef locally raised since Amarillo is the heart of the Beef and Cattle Industry in the US. In addition, the staff is very friendly and very helpful.

Probably the worst ribeye Ive ever had. Dry, no seasoning, and tough. For an upscale steakhouse I was very disappointed in the steak. Im gonna have to cook a ribeye myself out on the grill now just to get the memory of this one out of my head. Maybe send your cooks over, and I can show them how its done.....
