The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch! 1st time here and we loved it! We ll definitely be back! We got a ribeye, baked potato, salad, onion rings, and banana pudding and all were very delicious! 10/10 recommend! Love the small town feel!

If you are looking for a fancy dining experience, this is not the place for you. Now if you are looking for the BEST ribeye in Amarillo along with an ice cold beer. This is it. The service is always good. The food is even better with the ambiance of a local family dive. I highly recommend this place!!!!

Ordered the 12 Oz ribye with fries. The salad that comes with the meal comes from a premix with some croutons. Kinda basic, nothing special. The fries are home cut which is nice, they had a good flavor and were delicious with ketchup. On to the main event, the steak. It was cook to medium rare as requested, and was quite tasty. You could really taste the wood smoke in the meat. However, the steak lacked any real flavor. Luckily, the meat and smoke alone carried the steak and I didnt have to break out the steak sauce, but some seasoning wouldnt make this steak worse. Overall 3/5. Fantastic wait staff and fun atmosphere, just wish the steak was a little better. If I can make a better steak at home, Im not jumping at the chance to return. I may try some other offerings next time we visit.

Stopped in for food after arriving from Ft. Worth for a weekend of camping at Palo Duro. Excellent food, service, and ambiance! Just a perfect dive bar in all the right ways. Everyone there was attentive and fast, and we enjoyed the sandwiches and beers. Coupled with good pricing and convenient location (to the park), you cant go wrong. Well definitely be back the next time out!!

Visited this loca restaurant for the first time. It is outside of Amarillo so that s a down, but the drive is worth it. The hamburgers are delicious. If you like the patties cooked well done, this is the place. The staff is friendly. Food was served pretty quick. Will be going back to try the steaks. 10/10 recommend.

We went to an expensive chain restaurant the other night for steak. It was bad. The I realized, after all these years, Lone Star was still open. Amazingly good steak, cooked perfect. Salad always spot on and homemade blue cheese delicious. So we went back the following Wednesday for Prime Rib night. Not only was it a great price (well under 30$) but was the best Ive had in years. The cobbler and banana pudding are worth mentioning as well. Unassuming place just 14 minutes from downtown. On Claud hwy between Ross/Osage and Washington. French dip is great too. Jalapeño poppers could be better, wings need sauce choices, but I go here for steak, or for a bargain quesadilla.

We love this place but they were packed and we waited 20 min for a seat, waitress told us we would wait outside and she would come get us. Instead others went in and she sat them. She realized what she done after she saw us standing in disbelief,Tables needed to be cleaned for us to sit. She started cleaning and then started taking. Orders and then bringing out food and then checking on other tables sooooo we stood there still the other lady never paid attention to us . So we left. Very disappointed. We are loyal customers for years and didn t expect to get this kind of service.

We went here after a day filled with site seeing and hiking at the Palo State Park. The service was wonderful, the environment was country and peaceful, and the food was AMAZING! My husband got a 24 OZ steak and it was so tender cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing. Myself and my oldest got burgers and let me tell you hands down the best burger ive ever tasted. The only thing I think could be better is that the kids chicken basket should come with 2 strips not one....But I would definitely return here if I ever come back to Amarillo again! And this restraunt is a must have if you are visiting this area! Thank you to the owners, cooks and servers that took care of me and my family!

We had traveled from Springfield Mo., so it had been a long day. Was camping at the KOA Journey overnight and was looking for someplace near to eat. This popped up on Google maps and sounded good and boy was it! The perfect place to end our day. Cold beer and delicious food! We split a ribeye. Waitress was kind and friendly and made us Indiana folks feel welcome. Highly recommend!!

Our family ordered a variety of dinners- ribeye, filet, and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked per our orders. The service was a bit slower than normal this evening. However, I chalk that up to them being shorthanded. Their team was friendly, working hard, as attentive as possible, and there s a posted sign that they re looking for servers, full or part time. This is a GREAT local restaurant that I highly recommend. Some of the best steaks in town and a laid back, casual, hole-in-the-wall kind of place.

This place should be a local landmark. It is a great local success story. It is a small restaurant with limited seating so get there early. It has a small bar, pool table, and a juke box. I have eaten there on several occasions over a thirty year period. The service is great, the food served hot, and the steak awesome. The steaks are priced at market. The steaks are huge and cut from choice beef. They are flamed grilled. YUM! Priced with the premier steakhouses. But let me tell you, they are the premier steakhouse in the area. They have other menu items but, if your looking for a great steak this is the place. Bring your appetite. They serve up to a 24 ounce ribeye. My date had the 8 ounce fillet. Both served with baked potato or fries and salad.

Believe me when I say this two stars is generous. The burger although large, was overpriced and under seasoned and by under seasoned I mean no seasoning...It was the most bland burger I believe I ve ever eaten, and then when I receive the ticket for the meal, the options for tipping were 20% 30% and 40% are you kidding me! She would have been doing good to get 15% given the rude manner in which she dealt with me when all I carried in there was a smile and money... Believe me, there are FAR better burgers right down the street...don t waste your time here unless you re desperate for a taste of the local red-neckery..but hey to each his own... Bon appétit!

We ate here as per our B&Bs suggestion and it was perfect! We were tired from our drive from Taos, NM and wanting a hardy meal. Now, most places hear rare and will likely serve you a med-med rare steak. Lone Star nailed it! Their steaks are TRULY grilled, as in, taken outside and introduced to searing heat. Quality meat and perfectly seasoned. Husband loved the homemade croutons that came with the salad. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us great tips for what was going on in the area during our stay. Please skip the chain restaurants and treat yourself to fantastic meal when you are in Amarillo!
