Updated Review: 08/22/2024. Called ahead to verify if they were open since hours of operation have been random. Was told they were open by person who answered the phone. We make the drive there only to be told that they would not wait on us until they waited on a twenty top that was coming in. . . THE COMPLETE PARTY WAS NOT EVEN THERE. So we waited confused by the door as we did not know where we could sit. Another family walks in with two small children and are told the same. They asked if they could at least put in orders for their Littles and were told no. The family was told that it would be at least an hour before they could wait on them. After hearing this, our party of 5 turned around and walked out. If the location is taking small parties, they should close to the public or at least let people know on the phobe who call that there may be a wait. This experience was horrible and we have no intentions to return. We drove to Young Sushi Rocks down the road and are now enjoying a delicious meal.

I tried to stop by this place last night and grab a quick bite. I am visiting from out of town and staying at a hotel nearby. I walked in and was told they were closed for the day. Time posted days 10pm this was around 9pm. Another gentleman walked in right after me and was refused service as well. They should update their hours if they are going to be open when they say they are. Ive been a restaurant manager for the past 20 years and as a manager I wouldnt want my staff closing whenever they feel like it. Its bad for business late night business and will ensure you never have late night business.

Slow service as our waitress didnt have many tables at all. My food was obviously cooled off from sitting for a few minutes but the food itself is superb. Irregardless of the slowed service I recommend eating here!

The waitress was to busy with her friends she had not seen in awhile to wait on us. My wifes food came out cold. The pad thai had anything but flavor. The burnt calamari should have never cooked that Long. Now one good item was the brisket taco. Maybe you should only do BBQ.

While our food was absolutely amazing we had to wait quite a while for our food. We had awesome friendly service and the waitress even recommend a great lunch. However we got to the restaurant about 5 mins before another group. Yet the other group got their drinks first, food first and check first. And not by a few minutes either. They got their drinks first and Like they got their food 20-30 mins before us. They had ordered, got their food, ate and got their check all before our food was even out yet. And like I said we were in there first. We got one noodle dish, veg fried rice and a salad so its not like we ordered something big and crazy. Due to this issue alone I must give a low score. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else.

I have been driving through Amarillo for years and it just seemed odd to me that the food Id eaten in this city was always so unimpressive. Granted, Id never deviated too far off of I40 and I havent gone to the Big Texan yet. Well, this trip we went downtown and had Gooneys.... OH, MY, GOWD... The city is now redeemed as a spot for food adventure! Asian fusion, genius and just a hint of madness makes for a great eating experience. Bulgogi, Fried Rice, Steak, Kimchi and salads were all stunningly good. I could have had just those things and still rated the a 5...but... The Butter Chicken Sandwich is some next level, outlandish, crack-addiction sort of good. I have never in all of my 53 years, EVER, had a chicken sandwich that tasted that good.... N.E.V.E.R.. my business in the west was unpleasant and I told myself that it would be a long while before I went back. This sandwich literally has me trying to make an excuse to get back that way. It is just that good...

Cool Asian fusion spot downtown with friendly service. Went on a Monday evening with colleagues. We shared an appetizer and then I had the Hot n Spicy Beef with steamed rice. The sauce really made the dish, it is super balanced with its seasoning and very flavorful. The fried calamari was fresh and good with the sauce. Id go back. Parking: Parking is free on Polk (as of Oct. 2023) with time limits during the workday Monday to Friday.

The food was wonderful! I had the hibachi plate with scallops and my husband had Thai chili asada that was cooked to perfection! We especially liked the ginger teriyaki sauce that came with the hibachi meal. This interesting place was in downtown area and had plenty of street parking around. The food did take awhile to receive, but well worth the wait! We would come back again for sure! Vegetarian options: We saw several vegetarian options on the menu. Parking: There seemed to be ample street parking around. We walked as it was close to our Airbnb. Kid-friendliness: There were highchairs. Wheelchair accessibility: There were no steps into the restaurant.

I had a great experience at gooneys The bar tender was very friendly añd gave me a lot of insight about the city. She also suggested a drink (her favorite) which was actually very tasty. Restaurant completely flips the whole Asian restaurant aspect, you feel like you are in an upscale American Diner, the good is a mix of Asian and American delights, me and my wife food was cooked perfectly. Wow, just wow. I was a little hesitant with Gooneys. Asian Fusion, sports bar-ish premises, but the food is just outstanding. Having travelled extensively in the far East, each dish brought back memories, and easily felt like authentic Asian dishes. Brooke was the most hard working, friendly, and happy wait staff who serviced the whole restaurant single handedly, with everyone kept happy and fed. Bar far, the best restaurant we have visited in Amarillo in the last three days.

The food is absolutely awesome. A lot of the critiques on here talks about the long wait for the food. But, there are only two waitresses for the entire place. Those two girls never stopped moving and never lost their smiles and good attitudes. If youre wanting something quick dont go. If you want some great food. I highly recommend it.

Similar to Ty s post, we had the same experience. Great and tasty food but the service leaves a lot to be desired. There were 2 other tables and a couple at the bar. 5 minutes before the first visit to our table and about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. One should not have the time to drink 3 beers before their food arrives.

Love the food here, however with that being said the waitstaff always looks lost. Last visit there was probably a total of 3 tables in the whole place, we arrived with a group of 5 and they didnt even greet or say a word to us for about 10 minutes. On phone in the corner and laughing together. Once we realized the story on the phone was more important than greeting us we stood up and proceeded to leave. Waitress yells out to us, someone will be right with you, I think! I understand bad days happen but this is about the 3rd time with similar results. We love the food here. But theres way too many amazing placesthat will give great service to choose from in Amarillo to settle for this.

Food is great I been there a few times and the only problem is time, the waitress is super nice but she is always running like a chicken without a head. The restaurant is so understaff that food usually takes like 40 min to come out. Now as far as the food is concerned, it is great a definitely a must if you have the time. Used to love this place but in the last year it has gone way down. Service has slowly gotten worse. They have always taken a long time to get food to your table but even that has gotten worse. The kicker is they always seem to be out of things. Even if you get there before the dinner crowd they are still out of certain foods. Quality of food has gone way down too. Sad to say I wont go back

Varied menu. Interesting flavors. As usual, I ordered the pork chops. I always say Im going to branch out and try something else. But they are SOOOOO GOOD!! Give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

Excellent food and fully stocked bar. Good service as well. Come for happy hour stay for the food. Definitely one of the best places in Amarillo. One of the best . Finished before I left.
