Today I came into this place with the intention of placing an order to go which only included a mangonada. As I m at the bar ordering this frozen mexican drink to go, the bartender not only assumes I want the alcoholic one but tells me i need to order food with that. Keep in mind I wasn t trying to order one with alcohol since i m pregnant (which he clearly seen), then he starts making conversation with me and I asked him about a specific dish on the menu which he said they do sell but for two people, so I told him wow that s a lot for that one dish and mentioned to him I typically go to vidorra because I love the food and the same dish they have but at vidorra for cheaper. He then proceeded to discriminate and assume I only go there to drink and party , he then says you go there to drink while you re pregnant which was funny to me because he knows that vidorra is a restaurant/bar on top of that I just told him NO, im pregnant . So I then told him no I eat there with my family and friends and he stayed quiet. I have never felt so uncomfortable and disgusted with my own kind of people, I will be sure to carry a sign around from now on that says I m pregnant, I don t drink alcohol . Like this is ridiculous and I can t believe the kind of world we live in today.

Our 1st time at Salsa, we enjoyed it! Our party was 6 adults and 3 toddlers. We were sat without a wait on a Saturday night. The server was pleasant and refilled drinks quickly. The chips are served with salsa, beans, and hot green sauce. Our table ordered margaritas, fajitas, cheese enchilada, and brisket enchiladas with poblano sauce. The brisket enchiladas were amazing and VERY spicy! Will definitely come back!

Went here today with my boyfriend and we were extremely impressed. We both ordered the steak and eggs and it was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce was very good. The mimosas are only $3.99 and they were actually really good unlike most places where Ive had a mimosa for brunch. Im looking forward to having dinner there sometime soon. We will definitely be going back.

I was in the area with my husband. My pregnancy craving since the beginning was tortilla soup. So I simply looked for one near us and came across this place. Salsa Mex has been a family favorite for years and years starting with the one in Plano. However my experience on Sunday, August 18 was bad. Our family dined for a multiple birthday celebration. I ordered the René. The masa on the tamale was raw, the tortilla on the enchilada was raw and the shell on the taco was way over browned. I also ordered a beer which was delivered after an extended wait and handed to me in the bottle, no glass and was room temperature. After I refused it the waiter said they didn t have any chilled ones. No explanation before? To say this was disappointing is such an understatement. I honestly don t think I can give your restaurant another chance.

Tried it and man this isnt even close to tex-mex its more authentic. I ordered the tamales with sour cream sauce I was expecting some small tamales to my surprise full size Mexican taste tamales no sauce needed, everything we had was above expectations , drinks and food. Just AMAZING, truly recommend this place, my new favorite restaurant to go to theres no competition. If you havent tried it and you are thinking about do you will not regret it.

I came here for the first time since I saw great reviews about it. Sat at the bar and the bartender was either uninterested in serving guests, or he just worked 3 24hr shifts back to back. Ordered guac and never received it so I left. This was at 1:15pm when they were not busy. Change your bartender and put someone who wants to be there.

extremely horrible. would give a negative rating if possible. ordered a veggie quesadilla. ate a piece and took it home and got a piece of brisket in couple of the pieces. just a huge mistake. on top of that haven t got any response in over 10 days regarding this issue. it s a huge issue considering i am vegetarian by faith. just a massively pathetic place to not even respond to this issue. would recommend never going to this place.

The Salsa Tex-Mex in Allen is the number 1 place for mexican food! I have to say also best in Plano. Many choices on the menu to choose from. Food is tasty and flavorfuly delicious. Prices reasonable and affordable. The waitstaff is friendly, professional and always very attentive. Great food, drinks & service! Not sure why anyone would give less than 4 s. We ve been twice, second time family from out of town came along and they loved it as well! Salsa s Tex Mex has my favorite shrimp enchiladas and the freshest ranchero sauce. I am that person that usually will make a special request and every time they accommodate. We absolutely love this place! The portions are huge! The taco meat has so much flavor. They will make just about any changes or modifications to your plate without hassle. Any of the steak options are fantastic always tender and flavorful! They also have several sauces to enjoy if you want some chips and dips before your meal. Service is always great fast and reliable. Nice patio seating. Happy hour is all day Sun-Thurs. Fridays from 3pm-6pm. Drinks range from $5-7. Not bad. Enjoyed the mojito & meltdown marg (lots of alcohol). The platter of apps was ok. Chicken nacho was good. Chkn flautas were okay, chkn quesdilla was simple. The jalapeño chkn popper was delicious! The guac is good. Good salsas & beans for appetizer. Service is great during not so busy hours (afternoons). We returned. Had entrees chicken fajitachanga, picante enchiladas. The fajitachanga is delicious with the queso on top. It comes with guac, sour cream, beans, rice & pickled onions. Lots of food for the price is worth it! The picante sauce on the enchiladas is not spicy enough for me, I wouldnt reorder that. But Ive had the chicken fajitachanga twice & love it each time. The Spanish servers have been great. Today we had a young man & he wasnt quite good. He forgot to put in our order, forgot to bring our waters out. He seemed new. The cutlery was also dirty, dishes & cups not clean either. Today the quality decreased & we could see it.

I m very disappointed in the service we received today. Our waiter took our order wrong and didn t make it right. I ordered a kids steak fajita and was given a regular size chicken fajita. My family and I went in for dinner. Our server was amazing, but another server dropped salsa all over my newborn baby, we understand that mistakes happen and the server apologized but we had to clean up, other tables were asking if she was okay. My baby had salsa all over her and all over her new car seat. Not once did the manager come and check on us or come and apologize. It s a newborn baby and hot salsa!

Our first visit here was nice. The salsas were a bit too spicy for me, the drinks were good, and the food was tasty. The flour tortillas dont taste homemade, but theyre still edible. They were playing good dancing music too(if you dont like loud ambiance then maybe dont come on a Saturday night). I recommend that you try the yellow queso, steak fajitas, Mexican Martini, Specialty Margarita, and the Churraso Plate. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

Ive been to the other locations and they are good. This location was good too. But I tried something new and it was the chimichanga. I would not recommend it. I ordered the crispy chicken tacos to go. Didnt check it before we left, and this is what I opened up when I got home. 3 taco shells with the chicken on the side. No lettuce, tomatoes, or cheese like it says on the menu. I took it right back and requested a refund. I was told this is how they serve tacos to go so they dont get soggy. Ive never had to assemble my own tacos. They did offer to make it again, but I was over it already. I didnt want to eat there and wont return. First impression is everything.

My wife and I tried here recently. She had the Tortilla Soup (said it was very good). I had the Bryan s Tacos which had cheese melted in them with the steak. Had great flavor and they didn t skimp on the steak For dinner with Guacamole for appetizer, a margarita and glass of wine it came to $54 with tip. Not a cheap night, but not too terrible either. Very few vegetarian or vegan options. They said the flour tortillas have lard, all the enchilada sauces have a chicken base, all the beans have animal fat or animal base. The rice has chicken broth in it. Chips are OK and fried in a separate fryer, Salsa is OK, corn tortillas are OK. Potentially you could have veggie fajitas with corn tortillas or I had a guacamole tostada, which was OK.

This has become one of our go to places to eat since it opened. The staff is always so nice and friendly. We love the happy hour special. Gotta try the jalapeño margarita with tahin. We enjoy the quesadillas or the combo fajitas. They also give you chip, green salsa, salsa, and beans. All taste great. We love sitting both in and outside in the patio. Even in hotter months the shade it provides keeps it cool. Great place and kid friendly.

Unfortunately, tonight wasnt a hit. This was our first visit and will be our last. Our service and the margarita was good, but thats where it ends. Our server dunked his finger in our salsa as we sat down, and we politely asked for new salsa. We had to ask multiple times if we could get the missing salsa. We ordered nachos and chicken enchiladas. The chicken enchiladas came out wrong 2x and taste like spaghetti-os. Upon asking what sauce was used in the enchiladas, we were told just tomato sauce and spices . My wifes nachos had a wood skewer hidden under some cheese, she found it when she bit into her nacho. No manager was offered to speak with us. The overall atmosphere is dull and lifeless. Multiple tables had large pieces of cardboard under the legs to level out tables. Based on this visit, we cant recommend this place. We rather pay more and go to Glorias in fairview.

I would give less than -0- if I could. The server did not bring salsa or chips when we had none lest. Had to ask for water,,,,the quesadillas were soggy and greasy. The server I did not bring a napkin when I asked for one. The restaurant was great, the service was terrible.

This is a new location for this chain restaurant. I really enjoyed the nice selection on the menu. I had Shrimp Chili Relleno. I ordered mine with Queso sauce instead of Ranchero. The service was good. We were seated right away on a Thursday evening. The restaraunt was about 3/4 full. Price was $$.

We have been looking for an amazing mexican restaurant since moving to Texas and Salsa Tex-Mex is the place! My family and I stopped by Saturday night and after reading reviews online this location lives up to the hype. It was busy but there was no wait and we were able to be seated and get our food and drinks pretty fast! With the meals they also do give you a ton of food so you will definitely have left overs for the next day at an amazing price too.

I was so excited when Salsa Tex-Mex came to Allen. My husband and I have ordered from the Allen location several times. The last two times we placed an order, the guy taking the order was rude. In addition, the guy was extremely rude when the order was picked up. Our order was incorrect the last two times. The first time the manager on duty was a lady and she was really sweet an apologetic and made things right. When my husband picked up the order tonight, he asked the same guy from the previous visit who took the order if the order was correct, and he said yes. When my husband got home with the order it was missing items. My husband headed up to the restaurant again. In the meantime, I called the manager. When I spoke to the manager what happened he told me it was my responsibility to look and make sure I got all the items in the order. Unbelievable! When my husband got to the restaurant, the manager changed his attitude because he was in front of a lot of customers. Also, the manager said there was a lot of new people working there and my husband said the guy that screwed up the order the first time is the same guy that did it again tonight. I would not be this upset if it was not for the guy taking the order being extremely rude and well as the manager on duty tonight. The only reason I gave two stars is that the food is good, but picking up one order twice in order to get everything I paid for is unacceptable. Then it happened again.

The food and drinks are the best my wife and I and friends have found. The meltdown margaritas are the best. You will not go wrong eating here. I hardly ever give a 5 rating. I think there is always room for improvement, but that doesnt mean it shouldnt be a 5 rating. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Enjoy.

Before the location in Allen opened our family always went to their location in Plano. We love both locations but we live in Allen so we were so excited that they are now so close to us! My son and I usually go to lunch each Saturday and we find ourselves choosing this place over and over again. The wait staff is amazing but last weekend we had Martin as our waiter and he really made our experience great! He gave great recommendations and accommodated my desire to change the menu options up a bit. I got the Mario and changed out what type of enchiladas I wanted. I chose the beef enchilada with the serrano queso, and the chicken chipotle enchilada! It was perfect and Ive craved it since!

Salsa s the only Tex-Mex I care about. This was our first visit to the Allen location and we noticed some differences between it and the Plano location. I feel like the two places need to join forces and trade recipes on a few things to become the lords of DFW Tex-Mex: 1. Get the Serrano sauce from Plano. The Allen one was less flavorful. 2. Give Plano the jalapeño margarita and consommé recipes from this location, as they were noticeably better. You do this and this random guy on google would be so happy.

Attended the soft opening of Salsa Tex-Mex and by far the best soft-opening we have ever attended. Service was top notch - especially Diego. Chips and dips are great! Chips are light and they serve three types of dip, salsa verde, bean, and regular salsa. Food was very good, well prepared and you get a large portion.
