Incredibly disappointed with the new ownership. We ordered to go tonight and were charged extra service fees for takeout, credit card, and tip...and then still prompted to give an additional tip. But worst of all, the food was not actually cooked properly. The fajitas were warmed in the microwave, not a skillet- the shrimp were foul and the veggies undercooked. Complete waste of $69...we ended up not being able to eat the food at all.

a recommendable place, from the food, which was delicious , there is the service we had, the waiter who served us was very friendly and attentive to what we needed and the atmosphere was very relaxed, there is no loud sound, you can chat quietly , I will really visit conchitas again

I wanted to leave a review because after our first-time visit yesterday, I dont understand the negative reviews. We have thought about going several times but were hesitant because of the negative posts. My husband and I went around 4 oclock on a Saturday because we were waiting on our daughters tourney to finish at the high school, so there were not a lot of patrons at that time. The remodel looks so much better. The layout is more open, lighter, and spacious. We were seated promptly and waited on promptly, as well. The chips and salsa and bean dip were freshly made and delicious. Someone had said the salsa is watery. It most definitely was not. I had a coronarita. And while it was a typical beerita, it was icy cold and hit the spot. My husband had the combo fajitas, and I had the fajjta beef sopes. Again, both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The sope reminds me so much of my grandmothers hot water cornbread growing up. Our server was Noel, and he was attentive and so nice. We thought the prices were extremely reasonable. Please give this place a try and judge for yourself. We will definitely go back soon to try other items on the menu. These smaller local businesses need our support.

First time going and Ill be honest, the food was terrible. My sons nuggets were raw. I ordered the birria tacos and they were bland and I would never consider these birria tacos. The onion that they served with it you could tell they were a few days old. They were translucent like they had been sitting in the fridge for a week. I could go on but I would not recommend this place to anyone. I dont give them 6 months if they keep this up.

This used to be under another name and they used to be good. They are terrible now! I keep giving them a try because I used to love going here. I ordered quesadillas and they were greasy and just bland. Went back again yesterday and ordered nachos, just terrible. You can tell they just put chunks of cheese on it and microwaved it. The cheese was already getting cold but the plate was still hot. Nothing but a little chicken, chips and the cheese. I could have done better at home. I hate the cheese that hardens in seconds. It was just not impressive at all!! Not worth the money. Sadly I think that was my last attempt to redeem them.

Way too expensive! My street tacos tasted good, but they use their handmade corn tortillas which dont hold up past the first bite. I had to eat them with a fork because they just fell to pieces in my hands. Slow service! I wont go back.

It was our first time here since it changed management. The outside and inside certainly looks better. But I can t give a great ratings. There s only one vegetarian option for me to choose from and that was the cheese, chile relleno. It was bland and overcooked with the cheese having hard spots in it. My husband s cheese enchilada plate was also equally bland. He was disappointed and said that his tortillas in the enchiladas were also overcooked and hard edged. The rice was OK, I ve had better. The shining star was the black bean dip that they also use as a side, if you choose it as opposed to the free fried beans or cattle beans, The salsa was nothing to write home about either. Meh

Gave this place a go due to good reviews. The food was terrible. Watery flavorless salsa, queso from a can. I am not sure what restaurant these other reviewers ate at but it certainly was not Conchitas. Service was great not the waitress s fault everything tasted horrible. Also charged 1.99 for a water in a stryofoam cup because it was a kids drink . Please please do not trust the other reviews like I did.

After being disappointed with the bland food at Jalepenos, I was optimistically looking forward to giving this restaurant another try under their new ownership and new menu. I think the new menu is a little bit of an improvement and the chips and salsa and bean dip were good, however it was lackluster from there. The chicken street tacos were ok, but a little dry, a side of sour cream or cheese would have helped a lot, but what I felt was most lacking was the salsa was too mild. Whether there was a spicer salsa available I may never know, because once our meal was delivered, the waiter did not come back once the entire time we ate to check whether our food was ok or see if we needed anything. I was thankful no one dropped their fork, because our food would have been cold by the time any waitstaff came by, and he was in such a hurry that I couldnt get a word in to ask about the salsa. one of our party memebers was surprised not to get any cheese with their fajitas, and wanted to get a side of it, but the waitstaff was nowhere to be found. They never topped off our drinks or offered to show us a dessert menu. On top of that they seated us very close to a loud large party, when there were plenty of empty tables elsewhere, and seemed to be repeating that pattern of seating all parties at adjoining tables rather than spacing them out, since the restaurant was less than half full--more space between customers would have improved the experience. The new owners painted over all the garish paint on the wall, and went for a more tasteful white, with lots of black--an improvement for sure, but the decor could have used a little more pop of color, it was a bit dreary. So overall, at their price point, there are many better options in Allen, however, none of the failings are things that couldnt be improved upon by the new owners. Hope they listen to feedback and take advice to heart. Kid-friendliness: have chicken fingers or quesadilla with waffle fries on the menu for kids who arent adventurous. No coloring pages or other entertainment though.

This was a decent place for food. The food was okay. The service was okay. The price was representative of the okay atmosphere. The salsa was from a jar. The server came back only when he had to. We had to stop him for extra stuff. Our chip basket never got refilled even when it sat on the table empty. We asked for some flour tortillas and got 3 of them. Why would you give 3 tortillas for 2 people? Why not 4? I ordered a Paloma drink and it said it had grapefruit in it but it just tasted like a Mojito without the herbs. It was okay for some mediocre Mexican food but I dont see us going back anytime soon. On the upside, it is a new place so it was very clean. Thank you for the respite from hunger, Conchitas!

Update as of 5/28/24 - the Tex Mex menu we knew and loved has now been completely replaced with a brand new menu geared more towards authentic Mexican cuisine. We tried it, but it s not really what we would choose when we are deciding where to eat. I wish the new owners luck, but sad to lose my go to place for great Tex Mex. Original review: So glad that our favorite restaurant is continuing as Conchitas under new ownership. Noel is the most amazing waiter who takes the best care of his customers, and the menu remains unique and delicious. Margaritas are top notch as well!
