Lacking in so many ways. Prices are not good deals, they are standard prices. Their recovery section is really poor for a sports store. They dont have a single reusable gel pack in the entire store. Store layout is also all over the place. I dont think I will be returning. Theres nothing special about this store whatsoever.

Love the store, we shop here pretty often and love the online/curbside option. Disappointed that I ordered a $80 basketball and was given a $40 dollar one, thank goodness we noticed before leaving but when we came inside to get the mistake corrected I almost felt like they thought I was lying.. I ended up going in to find the correct basketball and they did notice their mistake at that point a little disappointed in the level of customer service and lack of ownership of the situation.

Bought Vans here in June, it is September now. The sole separated. Went in to see what their customer service desk would say. They referred me to Vans and would not honor the product they sold to me. 100% won t be buying anything at this academy or maybe even any Academy.

On 09/16/24, both my son and spouse went in with the intentions of purchasing a shotgun. Lloyd was very helpful but Diana/Diane or whatever her name is was very rude. While my son was making his selection, he came to find out that they only had the display model which had scuffs and scratches. Lloyd offered a 5% discount. My son decided to purchase the display. While waiting to do his paperwork, the employees left his gun on the counter behind the gun bar and ended up dropping it on the ground from about 4ft high. Upon further examination of the gun, it was seen with more scuffs from the fall at which point my son was offered another 5% discount. When it came time for Diane to do the paperwork, she was very rude and got upset when my spouse told her they should probably clean the counters so they won t drop another gun. She went to the back, and unbeknownst to my family, called the cops. She decided she didn t want to offer a discount after all and told my son she had no intentions to ever give them a discount and was only going to give him a 5% discount because he saw the gun fall. My son just wanted to make his purchase and leave. As soon as he was done paying for his gun, the cops walked in. For this manager to call the cops for absolutely no reason is absurd when she was in the wrong the entire time. And if my family was doing anything wrong, then why were they still allowed to purchase the firearm?? Why wait til after the transaction is complete to bring the cops in?? Had we known, we wouldn t have made the purchase. Lesson learned though. My son will be canceling his Academy card and we will now take our business elsewhere. We ve spent too much money at this location to be treated like trash. Diane made it seem like they were demanding a discount when that was not the case. They were offered the discount by the sales associate.

I bought a barbecue. Store told me they d load it. It was too wide to fit and I told them they needed to take the side trays off to fit. While they were doing that I told them I had an additional Purchase to Make and went inside. When I came out they attempted to put it in without removing the side trays and ripped a 7 tear in my brand new 2024 car leather and the grill was stuck Hanging out. The employee told Me he hadn t taken them off because they had no tools. Manager came out and asked for tools - miraculously the store then had tools. They told Me their insurance/company would take care of the damage. I got a call for that three days ago but missed the call - I have called the person back about 5 times for three days and cant get a hold Of any person and she isn t calling me back. So I feel I m getting a run around and feel the people in town should know how Academy is handling this matter. Tried to call Them directly but their 0 prompt isn t working, so again - I can t get a hold of anyone. So I m Leaving this review

This store is absolutely absurd. Ive had my last share of it today. Theyre always a mess, the store always has people who never have an answer to any question you may have and there are sale signs up all the time that are never honored. Like today. Magellan sale 25% off everywhere. We had several hundred dollars worth of items and the young kid just stared at us and said what do you want me to do about it. We left the stuff and will not return. Last time it was sales that the gal said ended 2 WEEKS prior but we just hadnt taken down the signs yet this is a joke. Ghetto placement and horrid service. Get it together yall or shut it down.

Good shopping experience kinda spendy but I needed clothing to wear in the heat for work and they had a fairly good selection. Not much in the larger sizes but got a couple pairs of pants anyway. Would have been better if anyone had asked us if we needed help...and if they had more 2x-4x clothing.

Incredibly disappointed with treatment we received, or even lack there of. The girl working at the stand by the front door was so inconvenienced by asking about shopping carts .i guess we were interrupting her stand around and talk time, because after being sassy about two sides of the entrance having cart options and failing to listen or be aware of the broken carts sign attached, she fired off with well we don t have anyone to run carts (plenty of employees just standing around talking), she stomped over to slam the seat part down and push the cart over to me that had a broken wheel. All the other employees just seemed bother with having to work in the first place lol. Was just so disappointing for an Academy. I get we all have bad days but there seems to be a running theme of bad attitudes and inconvenienced people. I ll make the drive into Selma before going back to this location.

First of all I need to say that Thomas, who was working in the firearms department at the time, dropped what he was doing and immediately came to my aid. He knew a lot about the subject I needed help with (fishing). He recommended to me a rod and reel combo and talked to me and explained why it was good and how to use it, etc. I want Thomas to receive recognition for his wonderful customer service and his knowledge of fishing. A little later I needed to know what line I should use for the rod he recommended, and once again, he dropped what he was doing and came to my aid. He again recommended a very good fishing line, and explained what the line was made of, what it could endure and etc. I will recommend this store in particular to anyone who needs any kind of sports equipment solely because of Thomas and the crew that were working that day.

Im extremely upset with the treatment I received. I used the restroom to change out of my church clothes into some regular clothes,dropped off my clothes in the car and went back in to shop for some boots. They staff thought I stole clothes and told me to leave. I had bought these clothes and showed them the receipt. Update: 4/15/2024 Thank you to the Store Manager Richie and Caroline for taking time to help sort the situation and going out of their way to turn a negative experience into a positive one. I really appreciate the fast response,and ability to quickly resolve the issue.

The cashier on 8 on 2/24/24 had a very bad attitude, she made me go back to the shelf take a picture of the price on Reebok work shoes and told me the model number is still different even though they look the same, so all the shoes on the Reebok work shoe shelf have a wrong price. Never again.

Bought a pair of rubber steel toe boots. I bought em about 6 months ago. Wore them twice. 2nd time I wore them , right boot leaked. Foot got wet. I filled it up with water to check where the hole was. Its in the seam. I didnt puncture the boot. They wont replace it..... I dont need to shop there anymore . Quality of their products suks.

Quick and easy trip. Went in to update my husband and sons fishing license. My nephew came across a great one some Nike Air Max shoes. They were marked down to 79.98 then we asked the sales manager if this was the correct price he said yes plus you get an additional 50% off. He was so excited. You never know what you find when you are not looking to buy. When you are looking to buy you never find anything.
